Adequate accommodation.

Good location

TV remote and streaming services didn't work. Could hear noise from other rooms, and light spilling in from corridor.

Affordable & clean, but room for improvement.

Great location and well priced. Modern facilities in an older building. TV was large and casting from a personal device worked very well. Very good bathroom facilities. Room was clean. I was on the top floor (3) and noise was no issue.

I was supposed to be in a room with a window through an upgrade due to my Booking.com status, however this was not provided. When pointed out I was changed into the correct room. However this room had a large structural beam running on a diagonal at the end of the bed which meant you could only enter the bed from one side and limited movement around the bed/room. The room was not cleaned, nor were towels or mugs replaced throughout the 3 night stay, even with the card placed on the door. An indictor light on the mirror was very bright and lit up the room at night. The TV also turned on randomly throughout the night, waking me up due to the brightness. There was no forks/knives in the room. The bathroom is frosted glass which is ok when staying alone, but could be awkward if more than one was staying in the room. I wish hotels would stop doing this, but it seems common these days.

Fantastic stay-cation!

We stayed here recently for a concert in Wellington. The price was so low I really didn't expect much. It was small and compact but really lovely, modern and clean! We were able to get parking at late notice also. It was really close to the city, and the staff were lovely. We will absolutely be back!

Unfortunately, there must have been a timer on the TV, and it turned on multiple times in the night.

Expensive parking and unfortunately need to pay a bond but room was adequate

Good location

Before booking the hotel, it was not made obvious that you needed to pay for a bond, that was the first hotel I’ve been to where I actually had to do that. It also wasn’t clearly mentioned that you had to pay $35 a night for on-site parking, you’d expect that for a hotel of that price it would be included. The check in process was also unnecessary long too. As for the room, it was passable if you don’t mind not having a window at all and don’t mind small spaces.

Location, layout of hotel and room set up. Great to have parking option too although someone snaffled my parking spot when I went out (not hotel at fault at all) and got allocated another one so all good

Previous occupant had smeared toothpaste over bathroom tiles above bathroom vanity that hadn’t been cleaned. Cleaning on some other surfaces pretty average too.

Budget hotel. But excellent quality and good value for money

The hotel is one of the cheapest in Wellington. I did not have high expectations. But the hotel is excellent . Good bed. Good shower. Comfortable room. Good service. And the price is good . What more could you want ? I saw a number of negative reviews, perhaps by people expecting a 5 star hotel after paying $150. Who knows. We had an excellent stay

Good location in the city, just be mindful of the ‘bargain’ you may be getting

Microtel is in a great central location in the city, lots of cafes and restaurants in walking distance. Quick check in and bonus of accessible parking spaces.

You need to now pay $100 deposit which was something that has changed recently. I stayed here at the end of last year and this was not required. It a should be more clear during booking. The room we stayed in was also sad and gloomy, tiny window with minimal sunlight. I have stayed here previously twice before and each time the room has gotten worse.

Frustrating

Easy checking in and access is great .

Trying to connect to the television. I spent 45 minutes trying to connect the television and could not connect and appears I have paid a monthly subscription which I do not know how to cancel and will probably have to cancel my debit card . I probably will not use this hotel again .

Microwave to prepare own food. Breakfast.

TV only works if you cast from your phone. Wifi was patchy at best. VERY noisy. Can hear every word from the room next door, and the music from the room across the corridor. Told to call reception later if noise continues, which is all very well but the phone in the room doesn't work! Wanted to charge $25 if they agreed a 30min later check out! Needless to say I checked out on time.

Nice, easy accomodation. Loved not needing to drive anywhere.

Simple and easy accommodation, nice clean room, excellent shower pressure. Good communication about prices and options. Nice and close to the locations we visited.

Parking is up quite a narrow ramp and off a one way street, but that's a lot of Wellington. Fire and stair doors in the hall were quite loud when used during the night.

Ideal budget friendly hotel for a city break

Good value for money, rooms are clean and modern.

Some rooms only have sky lights and not windows which is not clear at the time of booking. The walls are also pretty thin, thin enough that you can clearly hear what your neighbour is watching on TV until 1am!

Nichts, lediglich die Lage. Das Zentrum von Wellington war fussläufig gut erreichbar.

Es waren soviel Mängel, dass es zu weit führen würde alle im Detail aufzuführen. Das war mit Abstand das schlechteste Mircotel der weltweiten Kette!!! Das fing mit unmotiviertem Personal an, miesem Frühstück, keinem Zimmerservice etc. Das Zimmer hatte keine richtigen Fenster, das Bett nur einseitig erreichbar. Eine Blechkabine als Dusche. Keinen Kleiderschrank, keine Kofferanlage oder Ähnliches??? Rundrum ist das Haus nicht zu empfehlen, obwohl es noch recht neu ist.

Great location and the staff were all really friendly and helpful - top marks to them.

I did not realise an 'internal' room, meant a room with no windows (other than a skylight). I was quite shocked and disappointed on arrival and this was not clear when I booked

Excellent location & Value

Tremendous value. Very clean. Exceptional front line staff member. Wish I could remember his name! Very helpful and patient setting chromecast up.

Thin walls but I didnt have any trouble with this during sleeping hours. Just other guests playing music earlier on and banging doors.

Location and comfortable room. Great service at the counter. Parking was safe for my car and convenient.

No bedroom windows for natural light. No service to the rooms. Tradies using my carpark spot I paid for and had an awkward car park spot for my big car.

Perfectly adequate for a quick trip to Wellington.

I thought the room was nicely made up, and good value for what you pay for. Slept well, and was very pleasant overall.

Mostly a couple admin things needed to be ironed out. Quite a long wait to check in as automatic check in was not working, and key card wasn't working on some doors. Minor things overall.
