The security. Only being able to access sections with your key.
The facilities in the kitchenette were awesome but I found a couple dirty. House keeping can up their cleaning game in cleaning stains on and in the fridge and microwave and not hanging up cups with stains.
Additionally, adding fresh fruits to the breakfast.

Great location. Used another Home 2 and had a great experience.
Staff both night and morning weren’t friendly. Hardly told me what I needed. Bed wasn’t made well.

The property was clean, the staff were friendly. We liked that the pool was salt water rather than all the chemicals. The area was nice for taking walks around the city and short distance to the Valley Museum, which was free admission.
I think paying for parking is crazy when you spend hundreds as a customer to stay at the hotel. We are from Grand Rapids and it’s common for places here to validate parking tickets for guests, patients, customers, ect. We thought it was super odd they charge for parking rather than validating it for their guests. The pool was rather small, and there was no hot tub, so that was disappointing. The hours of the pool were also disappointing, we have been many places they open the pool by at least 7am between breakfast and check out time, there isn’t a lot of leeway to swim if you want before leaving. The breakfast was also incredibly disappointing. They ran out of almost everything including coffee. Only thing left were the waffles, this was more than an hour before breakfast was set to be done. They had one waffle machine, takes 2.5 mins to cook and people were waiting upwards of 20 mins each for the machine to be free. I feel like they could plan a little better and seen that they were going to be low based on the timeframe of breakfast.

location was good
checked in and my room was not cleaned - dirty linens, unmade bed.
they did put me in another room.
4.3
Location, cleanliness, ease of parking.
The shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower were empty and there were no alternatives in the room.

Pretty much everything, until they charged me $4.50 for a HALF PINT OF MILK. 😡😡😡

The staff was super friendly and helpful.
The parking and the pool. It was constantly crowded and just too small. The breakfast was also not that great.

Everything was clean and up to date
The free breakfast ended at 9:00am!

I liked the security of the property (except when i returned to the hotel that evening a family was waiting for food to be delivered and offering to key strangers in). It was nice, clean, and not busy.
My first room wasn’t clean. I had to switch rooms and go back and forth to the front desk which cost me alot of time to get ready for the event.

Exceedingly expensive for what it is. I don’t know if it was just the time of year I was there that made it particularly expensive, but I’ve traveled a lot and rarely seen such an inflated price for a run-of-the-mill accommodation.

The bed wast super comfy. I love the feather pillows and soft sheets. It was clean and the breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety. It was in walking distance to a lot of stuff. And the homeless were non aggressive. One of the best places I've stayed and looking forward to going back.
Instructions on how to use the parking garage could have been better but that's my only complaint.

I liked how safe it felt in our rooms. Needing a key to get everywhere is really nice, especially for families. We liked the laid back modern feeling. Very clean and felt high end. Room was very clean, the products available in the shower to use were very nice! Friendly staff, clean lobby. Responsive to calls.
That the Hilton garden comes first in the walk way to the hotel. Especially when you have little ones, sometimes that's quite the trek when you need to run to the car for something or hauling bags back and forth with young ones. Also, I can't count how many times we had to stop our 2 year old from getting her fingers pinched everywhere. Maybe a little too modern for families with young ones.

parking was not great.
parking. $20. not easy to navigate at 1st

Room accommodated my family.
Room wasn't fully cleaned. Went downstairs to tell the front desk they tried to accommodate us by giving a smaller room but we said no and just got some wipes and cleaned what was dirty.

Affordable, comfortable, trendy decor, safe, close to WMU campus and all downtown Kalamazoo has to offer. I wish this hotel was around when I went to WMU. I remember my parents staying at other hotels in the area when visiting me at school. The other hotels within this price range aren’t as conveniently located, aren’t as clean and new, and don’t feel as safe as this Home2Suites in downtown Kalamazoo!
I didn’t like paying for parking nightly, but it was still very convenient and loved having the skywalk to avoid walking across the street in the rain.

Had a kitchen and lots of room. Newer hotel that was clean
You had to pay 20$ a night to park (which wasn’t clearly posted on website) and the pool was small with no hot tub

We had a suite that sleeps 6 people comfortably. It was very clean and had a kitchenette. Hot breakfast was included with the stay and had a variety of foods. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
Some food and drinks ran out, and they took a little while to refill, but perhaps they didn't have enough staff. Otherwise, everything was good.

Size of room, location & amenities.
Breakfast was just ok.
