Very comfortable bed. Typically beautiful location for the area and some good wildlife surrounding the area. Nice breakfast and cool set up for dining experience (dinner not included in price).
The dining experience was expect to share the table with other guests.
It is a lovely project the owners have embarked on but the experience does not line up with the online presence/review and the price point.
Rather than it being it a “family run off grid hotel” it is a “cozy room below a lovely family home”.
Rooms are tiny with no space to put your things or move around, very little privacy and quite a bit of living noise coming from above with a young family living above. Pool area was Ok but a bit tired.
Make sure to ask what’s on the menu to make sure it’s something you like because it’s not cheap.

The name fits the property very well. It was an oasis. We were taken very good care of from the minute we arrived. Our room was lovely, it was the first time I had ever been in a space that didn’t have windows, there were screens over all the openings so each night we got lovely cross breezes to cool us down. The shower was attached but basically outside, that was great.
Each morning Louis prepared a wonderful breakfast. We always had fresh fruit and coffee. We had avocado toast one morning, eggs and toast, omelets and avocados the next morning. It was all excellent and served with a friendly smile.
The pool was lovely after a hot afternoon in the sun. The hike to the river was an adventure through the jungle.
The only thing that could be better was that we got to stay longer. Everything about Oasis is delightful. It helped to make it my favorite town in CR so far.

Louis the host went out of his way to be attentive, helpful and friendly. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was lovely and they offered my wife a vegan option. The pool and grounds were also exceptional, we had a lovely walk down to the river. We also met a lovely German couple in one of the other rooms who we went out for a meal at the b&bs restaurant with.
It does clearly state that you need a 4x4 to get there and you do. It's about 15 mins away from the town so you need a car to get food and it means one of you can't drink. From the reviews (which is my own fault) I was under the impression that you can get dinner up there but that is not the case as the owner has started a restaurant down in town which was very good but if you are not confident driver and don't have a 4x4 don't even attempt it. Although the bed was super comfortable the room is tiny, meaning you have no space to place a suit case any where, there is also little privacy in the room as some of the fly nets have no curtains so be prepared for that. The shower is also open which I don't have a problem with but you are visible to the outside. Also, as the toilet is open I had the surprise of seeing a bat hanging above the toilet in the middle of the night but it was nice to see one so close, but you have to be careful as they can carry some nasty diseases such as rabies so maybe a fly net over the shower curtain rail would help for such a situation?

The unique location. Nice pool. Surrounding rainforest.

The jungle setting is beautiful, it's immersed in the nature and all you hear during the night and in the early morning is the sound of the birds and the monkeys. The swimming pool is also great.
The beds were comfortable, it was all clean and we got clean towels every day
The breakfast was very tasty. Maybe, as a suggestion, the host could inform about the breakfast and offer some available options (fruit, eggs or cheese, avocado or tomato, bread or not, something like that)
There is a fan in the room to keep the air flowing
Natural organic shampoo and conditioner are offered by the accommodation
It's quite a ride to get to the house and you need a 4WD, that can be an issue specially if it rains or when it gets dark - it takes 10 minutes to drive from/to the house of unpaved-bumpy road
There are no windows (only mosquito nets) and a few curtains so there is not much privacy with the hosts (who live in the same building) and other guests (the rooms are in the ground floor)
All in all, a bit pricey for what is offered
There is no fridge or AC
No WiFi or hot water during the night (since power is supplied by solar panels and hot water by thermo solar energy) - maybe a cold water dispenser or a fridge for guests in the communal area would be a good addition

This B&B is a gem in the jungle! We had a lovely 3 night stay here. It's a short drive to town but feels very remote and private (note that you definitely need a 4x4). The owners made us feel welcome, Kyla was very helpful, and we also had a lovely time with the dogs Leo and Benji. Be sure to check out the owner's restaurant (Seba's) for dinner. We went twice, once for a fancy meal and once for pizza - both were great! Get the whole fish or steak and crudo, top notch fine dining.
Be aware that the room is small and there is no AC. You are in the jungle so there are plenty of jungle noises in the night, and it gets bright early when the sun rises, and there are insects around. But that's part of the experience!

We loved having a pool and the outside jungle douche was fun. The location is also very cool, its quite a ride but thats fun. Also a lot of animals by the accomodation and a nice private part of the river.
To be honest it wasn't what we expected. But because of the location and the poolgarden we still gave it a 7.
When we stayed here, it rained a lot and the rain actually come in our room, on the bed... this girl only said; "ow thats not fun".
Also on booking it says we would have a 'a la carte menu' for breakfast for example but we just got something without choosing and could not choose ourselves the entire stay. It was also not well prepared. The fruit was cut in a thousand tiny pieces and the bread was sloppy. The girl also served us in her short pyjamas which was a bit weird.
I also paid in cash and said i didnt have change, so she said she would look if she had something back. She just didnt come back. So when our car was packed, I walked up the stairs and asked for change back and she said she didnt have anything back.. but she should have told me herself without me having to come to their private space on the last minute.
It also says on booking that it has a daily roomservice, but our rooms didn't get cleaned once when we were there for 3 nights. They only changed our towels one time on the last day.
So we would definitely not recommend going here..

Avocado toast for breakfast was the highlight of this stay = expensive toast!
Reviews hailed the dinner, breakfast, & friendliness of these hosts.... we looked forward to this wonderful dinner (especially since the location is not easily accessed). Turns out that these highly praised hosts (now thinking that their friends and family stacked the reviews) are not even the hosts!!?? Some girl ("intern" of sorts?) who thinks far too highly of herself plays the hostess. Kyla says the right words, but one immediately senses that she truly doesn't care about anyone but herself.
So, as for this wonderful dinner that we were anticipating (had informed the host many months in advance/at time of booking)... the day before our arrival, they informed us that meals were no longer prepared on site - but we could order take-out from their restaurant if we didn't feel like driving down an insanely steep road in the dark. Really?! Had we known this even one week prior to... could've found a hotel near the highway (closer to restaurants). So we order take-out from their restaurant: WHAT A DISASTER!
(note: there was some confusion over cash payments, booking.com clearly stated that they accepted credit cards at property... not the case. But this review has nothing to do with that little misunderstanding.)
All four of us (2 rooms/2 couples) were floored by Kayla's arrogance/fake hospitality & were disgusted by the quality of the overpriced food. I could not eat the nasty pizza & wings (thought pizza would be easiest for "take-out" ~ SO WRONG!). $140 for food that was inedible & Kayla's attitude was "oh well". So we went to bed hungry.
And this breakfast that reviewers loved so?! Turns out Kayla prepares this (NOT the chef/host that was described when we booked). Apparently 7am was too early for poor Kayla because she served us closer to 7:30 while still in her pajama gown. And once the food was placed on table, she vanished. Back to bed?

It really was an Oasis! Very nice location, lots of animals around, great pool, very clean and beautiful rooms and delicious breakfast. Michelle was super friendly and helpful. If you don’t want to get on the road again in the dark, she helps you with ordering food. Her husband just opened a restaurant so you can no longer eat in the hotel, but there are great delivery options. We also tried the restaurant (in Yuli hotel) it was delicious!
It was no problem for us but you have to be a little bit adventurous to get there with your car and to appreciate the accommodations.
The shower was too out of the open for me. It needs more plants to cover you up. When someone was sitting at the breakfast table, I could not have a shower because I thought everyone could see me.

Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, pool, and the best food (ask Seabass for the Argentinian Steak and chimichurri) you’ll ever have. Highly recommended!! 12 out of 10 stars ⭐️

No privacy, too open and the room had poor circulation even with the fan.

We stayed for two nights and we were very impressed. But what impresses us at this place? So it begins with our absolutely fantastic hosts Michelle, Sebastian, Kaia. There was a really warm welcome when we arrived. They take care of you and help you for any needs. Additionally the dining atmosphere and food is incredible. The area around is clean, natural and just wonderful. Have you ever showered in an open shower? No? Try it here in your private atmosphere of your room.
It is not a hotel, hostel or anything comparable. It is just staying at friends house in a beautiful scenario.
Take also the time to enjoy the river trail - it is definitely worth when you step into this cool and fresh river water.
5/5 because 6/5 ist not possible at Google maps. This place is special.

My sister and I had an amazing stay at Oasis Uvita. We even came back for two extra nights. Sebastian is an amazing chef (recommended to join one of his meals) and the whole family makes sure you have an amazing stay in the middle of the jungle. The beds are by far the best we have slept on in Costa Rica. Highly recommended and we would definitely go back for a third visit!
Nothing really. We would recommend arriving before it gets dark because the road is a bit difficult in the jungle and the signs are a bit difficult to read when it is dark. However, even though we couldn't find it at first, Sebastian immediately came to help.

Overall a very calm and peaceful place to stay. Would definitely recommend. The dinner was excellent. The bamboo massage was probably the best massage I have ever received. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Everything was very clean. Swimming in the river pool was worthwhile. Hosts were lovely and attentive.
There is a lack of privacy for couples. The rooms surround the common area and the top part of the walls are screened only, which means if other guests stay up late, it can be difficult to sleep early due to noise. Would also be nice to have a curtain over the screened door for added privacy.

Super clean and nicely furnished with nice attentive details. Michelle & Super hosts and passionate for us to enjoy our stay. We were provided with excellent dinner and breakfast.
Some people might find a lack of privacy too intimate.

Amazing little oasis a bit above the town of Uvita (in the mountains) - in the middle of the jungle. Very nice and clean place though very small rooms. The owners maintain the property with a lot of attention to detail, we felt welcomed and had a great time there. Breakfast was absolutely amazing! Walking paths for short hikes and a nice pool are also available. 4w needed to access. About 10min by car to the beautiful beach.
Nothing. Highly recommend to stay there.

Sam and Michelle make you dream of living in Costa Rica. Their house is in the heart of the tropical forest, at the top of a hill out looking Uvita. You will really feel on the middle of the jungle. You’ll need a 4x4 to get there but also by taxi is easy and fast. They only have 3 rooms so the place will always be pretty quiet. Our room was small but cozy and comfortable. Loved the idea of the outdoor private showers. At night you’ll hear a lot of animals (so bring earplugs if you struggle sleeping). Sam is a great chef and cooked us both a delicious dinner (bbq of fish and vegetables, homemade desert and limoncello) and breakfast (cinnamon waffles with fruit) with fresh produce from their garden (menu always changes). Loved the idea of dining with the other guests, we met people from all around the world and shared our travel journeys.
Recommend the 2 hiking trails within the property that bring you to a river where you can swim. Also enjoy the pool where you can spot some Tucans among other birds.
Nothing. Was all great

Heaven location in the heights of Uvita.
The hosts are very nice, the bed is ultra comfortable and the evening meal prepared by the house chef is excellent (also the chef's Argentinian dessert). We are surrounded by nature with toucans everywhere and trails from the house that lead you to superb natural pools. There is even a little dog called Leo, he runs everywhere and is very happy, unlike the footballer who disappointed us a lot this year. Oasis Uvita is 10/10.
Nada, rien

The hotel area is nicely arranged and everything is pretty new. The hosts are very lovely and live there themselves running the hotel. It is has 3 small rooms on the basement while the owner's apartment is above.
It is a very quiet place with modern comfort in the middle of nowhere.
There are short trails on the premise.
If you don't want to eat down in town, they offer self-made dinner in stunning quality. Also the breakfast offered changes every day.
It is a bit outside the busy part of Uvita and a 4x4 car is absolutely required to reach the hotel. So you need to think about this before booking. Also it would be uncommon to walk from the hotel to town or back.
The breakfast didn't include a selection of fruits or juice which is really uncommon for Costa Rica and it was a rather limited amount of breakfast, but great quality.

Wonderful location in the jungle little bit outside Uvita. Amazing hosts, great food and the sound and energy of the place were unique. View from the room and the shower to the jungle is amazing.
Little bit clairaudient/noisy and since the rooms are well integrated with nature and somewhat open, privacy is slightly reduced (didnt bother us but could bother some guests).

It was a wonderful stay. Very kind, professional and friendly hosts. The environment is beautiful, night in the jungle with all the comfort you need. And the dinner was very very good

We had an amazing stay at Oasis Uvita! Sebastian greeted us immediately on arrival and made us feel at home at their beautiful BnB. 4x4 necessary to get there!! We had driven a car and therefore parked in town, taking a 4x4 taxi to the hotel. The breakfast and dinner we had with them were both delicious! Sebastian is a professional chef - he knows what he’s doing!!

The accomodation was perfect, we liked the aspect that it was fully self-sustainable. The owners were fantastic, so was the breakfast/dinner and the comfort of the room. The private property was nice, with a jungle to explore.
We didn't know the dinner was that good. I've never ate so good in Costa Rica or while travelling. Big compliments to the owners how they run their business! They really know how to deal with their guests.
Some other nice details:
- fully organic garden
- matresses / pillows made of bamboo
- organic shampoo
- a free welcome beer
A little bit more privacy in the room. The idea is nice to watch outside. But in the room itself, I felt the need of a bigger curtain or the possibility to darken the room. Gardeners could watch in the room while you are sleeping.

The best part about our stay was the welcoming people that are working here. The feeling of a warm welcoming family was amazing. The owner Sebas was also the chef and made some amazing food. We were so lucky his sous chef was also there!! they both made some fantastic diners for the two nights we were there. Besides the great food the surrounding is beautiful. You are in the middle of the jungle surrounded with monkeys, birds, eatable flowers and the sun through the trees.
For us, it was the perfect getaway between our hikes and adventures and definitely looking forward to go back someday. Michelle made sure you always feel like home and invites you to anything she does during the day. Not to forget Kaya, the little one who was so funny and open, and playful dog Lio who was just as curious as we were of the jungle and the animals.
overall, great stay and definitely recommend this to all the travelers!
we didnt miss out on anything

We were so lucky to end up in this place after a really bad day (a robbery from out our car, window broken).
We felt really welcome and the stress of that day totally relieved. A paradise place, with homemade delicious food (a three course meal) and very nice owners. Would love to have stayed longer. We really recommend this place when you are in Uvita.

This place is indeed an Oasis. Michelle and Sebastian are heartwarming friendly and helpful and it felt more like staying with friends than a hotel. We weren't missing anything and we also had the most comfy bed and the best food of the whole trip there. The way they live self-sufficient and sustainable in the middle of the jungle is also very impressive. Saludos to them and to their junglebaby Kaia and babydog Leo
that we didn't stay longer

This place is truly magical! Sebastian, Michelle and baby Kaia made us feel right at home from the start. The house is beautifully located in the middle of the jungle and the three guest rooms are lovingly decorated and very clean. In the common room you can make tea, read, exchange with the other guests and just enjoy nature. Of course we also used the beautiful pool, which gives the place a luxurious touch. Another highlight was the dinner provided by Seba. It was by far the best food we enjoyed in Costa Rica! They go to the local market daily and buy fresh local products. They also have a good selection of wine, which we also tried. Furthermore, the breakfast and coffee is excellent. The massage we also booked was divine and was done outside surrounded by nature.
Seba and Michelle are extremely helpful and warm people. They give everything and even more to make you feel comfortable. For us this place was so perfect that I decided to propose to my girlfriend. Seba and Michelle supported me and the proposal by the river could not have been more beautiful.
Thank you again for everything the three of you did for us. We will never forget this time with you and can't wait to see you again soon. Pura Vida and much love to you!

This is the place to be close to nature. The water is from the mountain and they get electricity from the solar power system, ecologically friendly with a modern touch! At night you hear the animals, the nets in the room keeping them on a safe distance ;) We had a nice welcome from the hosts and they can tell you a lot about the area. The rooms have an common place with the other rooms to relax, drink and eat.
