Compact, comfortable, sparkling clean; walk downtown to restaurants.

Thoughtful touches; well designed; very comfortable. Quiet at night. Good location; can walk to most places. Friendly, helpful host.

Short on storage. Not suitable for a long stay when you want to unpack your bags. Some traffic noise during the day.

Whanganui interlude.

Very new, well appointed roomy studio apartment with wifi, kitchen bar, spacious shower and large comfortable bed. Off-street parking behind a gate gave extra security. Rory is a thoughtful, helpful and gracious host. Whanganui is a beautiful town with a rich history, although I needed to spend my time working so I only got a glimpse! Worth a second look!

This property is beautifully presented. It’s comfortable, homely with all mod cons. Super helpful owner with excellent information provided. Whanganui is a very special place and so is Smith House 🩷

A beautiful apartment

The apartment was beautifully decorated, the bed was comfy, and everything felt top-quality - including the soap, shampoo, etc. The 11am checkout time was an additional bonus. We only had one night here but would definitely stay again.

Lovely property with a great host.

The property was very clean, modern and was very well equipped. Rory is a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend Smith House.

Exceptionally clean, heat pump, roomy shower, dishwasher, fully equipped facilities, comfortable bed. Rory left an information sheet on the table, addressed to me was welcoming & helpful for our stay. 11am check out no rushing to leave.

The location was fantastic right beside the river - went for a walk along the river. Liked that we had our own parking spot. Host advised us that checkout was 11am so not rushing. Loved the extra touches in the bathroom (awesome setup). The host was very friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. Would recommend this place to anyone. Comfortable & cosy.

Nice location, lovely apartment

Location was great, lovely walk along the river across the road. Very comfortable clean room and bathroom. Little extras in the kitchen for coffee etc.

The room was very modern and very clean. Felt like a 5 star hotel. Everything you would need to feel like you were on a holiday with privacy. Rory was an excellent host who we felt genuinely cared about our stay in Whanganui. Thank you Rory. Will definitely book again at the Smith House.

Highly recommended. The quality for the price is unmatched in my opinion. We will stay there again.

The room was immaculate. It felt like we were the first guests in a brand new facility. The shower was spacious with great water pressure.

The upper cabinets in the kitchenette slam closed loudly if dropped. Secondly, the plunger for the coffee could have been big enough for two cups.

Excellent, we enjoyed our stay.

We had our own food, and the facilities were excellent to make our own meals. The location was very good, only 2 blocks away from restaurants and shops.

One of the units that our friends had, it had only one chair in the room.

An excellent base for a Whanganui sojourn.

This property was extremely well designed and equipped, with a great mix of comfort combined with creativity. Rory, the host, anticipates what guests need and want and provides an exceptionally well set up unit. This includes great tea and coffee, a compact dishwasher and well set up kitchen overall. We loved this place!

We struggled to get the sound bar working with Netflix - more instructions for the tech challenged would have been useful.
