Overnight stop in Blowing Rock, whilst driving the Blue Ridge Parkway

This was a great place to stop for an overnight stay in Blowing Rock. We were driving the Blue Ridge Parkway and this proved to be a great choice as Blowing Rock is such a charming town, and this Inn is perfectly located within it. Parking was directly outside our room. Breakfast is not supplied, but that is not a problem, as breakfast choices were available in town just a few steps away. The room itself has character and, whilst not being new, was perfectly comfortable for one night. We liked staying here as it gave us a good feeling of an American roadside lodge.

Great cozy spot to spend a weekend in Blowing Rock.

Location was great. Shower had great water pressure . Bathroom was clean. Quiet. Bed slept good. Enough towels.

A mini fridge would be very helpful. The carpets seemed like they might could be replaced. A fan in the bathroom is highly recommended.

Average ..wont be back

Location.

Old rooms.. pretty clean except rug was filthy. Room was very tiny and just very dated. Girl at check in was average. No warm fuzzies and not very welcoming. Location was great but this room wasn’t worth the money we paid.

insulting for the cost

room #10 was a small shoe box in size, the front door opened to the foot of the bed. the throw rug on the floor must have been from the year1940, completely worn out with large stains to match. the bathroom was so small that just getting out of the tub shower you could fall over the toilet. the furniture was old and poor quality like it had been rescued from a dumpster. no fridge or microwave in room. but to add insult to injury the room had a large nightly cost.

I enjoyed my stay except for the noise issue.

The location is super convenient to downtown Blowing Rock. The rooms are quaint and clean. The bed was a little firm for my liking, but still comfortable. The water pressure and temperature in the shower was good.

The biggest problem is the doors that enter the rooms from the outside. They are interior, hollow core doors and provide no sound impedance so every noise outside is easily heard inside. That's not to mention the security issue even though the area is very safe.

Stay was nice but pricey for accommodations.

Proximity to locations of interest

Needs some refurbishing but was very clean (except the carpet could have used a good shampooing). Our initial interaction with the receptionist was less than desirable. When inquiring about an early check-in, we were met with a curt reply. We couldn’t even use the lobby bathroom (although she said we could stay parked in the lot since we were already there…about 45 minutes before check-in.) We were not pushy nor did we complain. Maybe this young woman was having a bad day. A different young lady checked us in in an efficient and friendly manner. Stay was nice. Definitely a throwback in time, which I found refreshing.

Blowing Rock was beautiful. The Inn location was good. The room was a nightmare.

I have traveled extensively for 30 years. This was the worse room I’ve ever stayed in.

It's a cute little place in a great location. Very cozy!

The floor in our room was not level. It wasn't a deal breaker. We still liked our stay but it was definitely something that was off.

bathroom sink is so small that water splashes onto floor when washing face. the shelf and cabinet prevent one from moving closer over the sink. it is also too low- designed for a child?

the mattress was memory foam and permanent impressions were left from other guests. not best type of mattress for hotel.

Felt like a secluded cabin downtown, loved it!

We stayed in one of the little cabins on the property and I loved it. Cabin was cute and very clean. It had cute front and back porch. We LOVED having an indoor fireplace, it was great to cozy around it with wine. Bathroom and kitchen were well stocked and clean. We enjoyed getting coffee in reception 24 hour coffee room. Walkable to everything downtown. I stay in Blowing Rock about once a month, this was my first stay at Mountainaire and I would definitely stay again.

upper beds were listed as queen but they look like fulls.. but no big deal. They were comfortable and the pillows were fluffy and full.

A fun, authentic log cabin. Grandkids loved it!

The location is within easy walking distance of downtown Blowing Rock. The staff was very welcoming, accommodating and pleasant. They have a 24-hour coffee and hot drink area. They offer a fire pit experience every night.

Stove and oven need updating. Interior paint needs to be refreshed. Master bedroom heat is not sufficient without supplemental electrical heaters.

Cozy couple getaway in beautiful Blowing Rock!

The rooms were cozy and warm and had everything needed; I especially liked the free keurig coffee 24/7, as well as tea, hot chocolate and the fire pit; the cookies were an extra special treat! the beds were very comfy!

charming, clean, lots of windows, good coffee. great location.

to regulate temp in room means listening to the loud click all night of the heater going on and off. it cycled every 20 minutes. extremely hard to sleep.

the room is seriously in need of a makeover. I know it’s supposed to be in mountain inn but it’s that time to update. the bed was hard. you can hear your neighbors through the walls. staff was great!

location was premier. I wouldn't want to be further away from the town. Everything was in walking distance. very swe

location was excellent, they were accommodating on every level. service was excellent

there weren't any negatives, property was managed 24/7. Desk agents were hard working and able to be contacted, which was a necessity, because of the weather.

please change the mattresses and make this a five star stay

location is great, very clean, great charm and very well kept

we were scheduled for a three night stay but left a night early because our bed was so uncomfortable both my wife and I woke up each morning with back pain
