Klidná část města mimo hlučné centrum..
Dostali jsme místo pokoje Deluxe s manželskou postelí a výhledem na řeku čtyřlůžkový pokoj s okny do ulice😐
Špatná komunikace s majitelem.

Un lugar súper tranquilo, con una vista al río y al Tungurahua desde la terraza! Y a unos 15 min del centro caminando !

Najbardziej podobała mi się miła atmosfera, przyjazny personel, kuchnia dobrze wyposażona, wspólne miejsce spotkań, ładnie przyozdobione ściany kwiatami namalowane przez Juliena, no i piękna okolica.

Location is lovely, right above the river, you can see vultures soaring and hear the river. We were in a little apartment, a double bed and bunk bed, our own private bathroom and a kitchen, with an oven, 4 hobs. You're given drinking water which I think is a great touch as otherwise you're boiling it. You're also given towels. There's plenty of space to hang up laundry if you need to. It is a walk into town, but only about 20-25 minutes or a cheap taxi ($1.25-1.50). For what you save on the room price you can afford to taxi both ways and still not pay what people do in the Town centre. It's very quiet and has nice touches like swings and beautiful flowers planted. There are some really nice details in the shared kitchen too. We managed to find everything we needed for cooking. We liked it so much we came back specifically to stay there and rest after the selva.
Cooking utensils could be a bit more abundant so it is easier to cook. The electric turns off at about 9.30am and comes back after a few hours. This isn't the hostel but the authority so theres nothing you can do...except maybe inform the guests so they know to expect that.

100% recomendado

The location, about a 10 minute drive from the town, is wonderful. The apartment we got and the fireplace.
The kitchen and the stove. We cooked a lot.
We liked that we could get fresh produce, fish and chicken at the market for real cheap.
The scenery from our balcony is/was...speechless
The fireplace with endless supply of wood was a wonderful touch.
It is a beautiful place in a beautiful location.
The kittens that belong to the owner are a nice touch.
Where do I begin???
So we did get the apartment and started with a week but ended up there for 3 because we thought, THIS IS THE place, with the best room/apartment...
However, I must note a few things:
1. Our room was located right next to the workshop, and even though we asked the owner to keep the noise down or have set hours of work, most days we couldn't get any peace because he would have employees come at all hours of the day and make such a ruckus that it was unbearable at times and the owner pretended to listen to us but not really.
2. The black water/waste water.
We don't know why or how, but the feeling was that after a week, the owner just stopped caring about us or the quality of our stay, (a steady supply of ecuadorians every weekend, perhaps) and so he would release the waste water right outside and under our balcony which meant most days, from the afternoon on, we couldn't go outside or really breathe!! We couldn't cook in our apartment anymore, and so had to escape the place everyday to go eat I'm town, which meant we spent more money than we wanted to.
We even asked the owner, Immanuel about this and he just said, 'oh, yes, black water' and that's it! Nothing changed!
This place could be amazing but with these 2 main issues, it wrecked it for us.
The owner just didn't care and that's a major problem.
3. We both love dogs, however, the owner's Dog, Bingo, is an old dog and is very territorial about his couch right by the office and can get bitey.
I did ask the owner about this, since I work with dogs, and he shrugged it off and said people should just be careful and not touch him. Bingo has good days when he's outside but he gets territorial and jealous with other pets there so just be aware.
4. A volunteer there threw my partner's slippers in the bush and after looking for them, that's where I found them.

There is construction noise starting early in the morning.

Everything is so wonderful here, the owner is so friendly and welcoming. We felt immediately at home. The room is very big and clean, with great view of the river outside. The rates were so great and this is by far the best deal for our trips.
There are cats and a dog which made my sons so happy here.
Thank you to the hosts of this hotel.
Absolutely nothing.

Nice location near the river, quiet at night. Room had everything we needed and there were some basic cooking facilities. Shower was very hot, something not always easy to find in Ecuador. 15 min walking to the town center. Some cute kittens roam around the garden, they were adorable
Sewage a bit smelly sometimes

Good vibes, amazing view and clean
a bit too far away from the city center
4.1
Nice view of the river
Could use more attention to cleaning, and making sure basic amenities are stocked.
To no fault of the owners, but very unfortunate…one dog in particular next door was very aggressive toward us, to the point of almost being biten. Especially when on bikes.
Also property looks very under construction but our room was nice and new looking

value for money is exceptional. The staff were great.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The view from the room was amazing. Very kind owner. I am not a dog lover at all. But Bingo the lodges dog was great and would help protect you when the other dogs on the road would be quite aggressive.
At night the dogs on the road out side the hostal were quite aggressive. At times we could not find the owner.

We originally booked the property for 2 nights, however, after seeing the room we booked it for a while longer. It's that nice. Beautiful view out the window, plenty of space, all the kitchen bits you need. Great location for noise (just the sound of the river at night). It's a bit of walk to get into town but taxis are reasonable. Manuel (the host) even offered us a ride a number of times, which was incredibly kind. He was an excellent host and we wish his hostel endeavour the best if fortune!
Because the hostel is in a residential area just outside of town there are a fair few dogs about. They're mostly alright. However, one night on the way back from the city centre a big dog came at us very aggressively. Luckily there is a dog who lives as the hostel and he scared the other dog off. Basically just be aware there's a number of rowdy dogs in the area. A taxi is around 1.50 dollars to and fro town though so can opt to do that to avoid dogs. (This issue is obviously not exclusive to this hostel).

Quiet neighbourhood good for light sleepers, beautiful view from the room over the canyon and river. Kitchen well equipped so that you can prepare the meals easily.
The room was not cleaned and prepared on our arrival and we had to wait half an hour.
Nobody was cleaning the room during our stay. There was no drinking water in bottles for refills. Beware of the dog of the owner and do not touch his as he may bite you. Also watch out for the dogs on the street leading to hostel as they might also be pretty agressive.

Absolutely Fantastic. Beautiful area away from city noise.
Huge room with two double beds, clean bathrooms & small kitchen in each room. You really can't do better for the price!
We stayed for a week and had no trouble with noise as per other reviews. There were 2 days with some construction but they don't start till 9.30am anyways.
Several helpful volunteers usually around to help.
The owner is quite nice and direct. Our apartment was immaculate, any issues are quickly resolved if you just ask.
My partner got scared by the dogs up the street as she walked in the first night, if you're not fond of dogs take a taxi from city centre, it's roughly 1-2 dollars.

We had a very lovely stay here. We really enjoyed the location - a bit outside of the city center but still within walking distance to town - it's quiet at night plus you get a beautiful view of the mountain from your window. Great hot shower, laundry service, we loved having our own little kitchen to cook. comfortable beds, nice decor. great place to rest for a few days if you're travelling long term. We totally recommend it.

View is good, beds are comfy, room is spacious.
We were very, very disappointed with this stay. We had good expectations after looking at pics and reviews, but it didn't meet up to it AT ALL. When we arrived, the host seemed drunk (not sure) and didn't even say hello, but straight away asked for money, while we hadn't even seen the room yet or had been told anything about the accommodation. It was the worst welcome in 4 months of travelling S-A, and believe me we've seen a lot. Then the room.. We found multiple black hairs on the toilet seat, the window is leaking, the kitchen is lacking basic equipment (only 1 knife and 1 spoon in a room for 3, no bowls, unwashed cups, dirty pans) and the curtains don't cover the windows fully so you don't have privacy even though people are walking by. The room was filled with mosquitoes, fruit flies, spiders and woodlice while not even having a mosquito net or something for the bed. Throughout our stay, the host maybe spoke 3 words to us (while we speak good Spanish, that wasn't the problem!) and had a very cold attitude. When we checked out he just grabbed the key and did not say a word.
Furthermore, note that the area is filled with stray dogs that are quite aggressive. We had 3 of them almost grabbing our ankles at multiple occasions. The location is 25 mins walking from the center/restaurants or a 5 min taxi ride. And during the weekend, there's a big group of kids in the neighboring house that's singing Christian songs all morning and afternoon, already starting around 7. All week long the host is constructing the two new upper floors.
In conclusion, we're convinced there's much better accommodation nearer to Baños. We wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Our host Manuel was very helpful and he is also very creative. Most of the furniture is handmade using old materials.
Only cold water and a bit cold inside
4.1
cheap
Manuel is doing a hard job, honestly!
But, you have to know that the building is under construction (seriously), the ground floor has rooms that seem nice, then first floor nothing and second floor is half done.
The room was clean and nice but a bit small and a view not as expected
