This was my first time using VRBO and I have to say I was really impressed with the accuracy of the listing and accountability of the host - she was communicative, positive and a pleasure to deal with. The lane home being very clean and welcoming, a bit on the older side but very cozy and warm (North Van can get cold at night) not to mention being able to have my dog there with me with zero fuss from the host. Just an all round terrific experience which I will definitely repeat if the need arises. Thank you!

The place is fairly hard to find (though we did arrive in the dark) seeing as most of the signage is quite small. You have to kind of go through a persons yard from the front or just know what the property looks like from the back alley. Being that this is a nice neighborhood some people definitely looked at us a bit weirdly. Elvi was helpful and very responsive upon check in however.
The house itself is kind of a spare house or shed that they converted into a living space. It is fairly spacious, has all the amenities you need and all in all is really comfortable. It's also, pretty old and a bit run down. When we stayed there there was a good deal of mismatched paint, there was a wet patched up hole in the bedroom, and the toaster oven needed to be operated by shoving a provided spoon into the dial. This definitely didn't take away from the experience but it does remind you what you are paying for. The place is well thought out and you can tell care went into preparing the space. The guest book has what looks like a child's drawings and there's also stickers all over the walls which, while not the best looking, are really sweet and endearing.
I think this place captures the spirit of what VRBO or other apps may have been like before people started trying to make it really nice. In the guest book they write that its not a 5star hotel and shouldn't be reviewed as one so keep that in mind as you book. Only other thing is checkout instructions could have been clearer.

Good location, very responsive owner. A little confusing as it is a lane house so you don’t see from road but a great stay was wonderful that my son could bring some of his pets, he might not have been able to get here otherwise

This was an affordable option for our stay in Vancouver. The location was perfect to drive to the ferry terminal, Stanley Park, and to visit the neighborhoods on our itinerary. The host was responsive when we had questions about checking in, and had a friendly chat when our pets met in the large, fenced shared yard. We appreciated the amenities like laundry, air conditioning, and cable. Little things that seem not so little when travelling!

Great location in Lonsdale, just a 15 minute walk from the Shipyards and Seabus. Private Laneway or Carriage house that offers privacy and quiet restful nights of sleep. Amazing super comfortable King bed, with additional sleeping on TWO folding sofas and a rollaway single bed. AC available, but we found that opening the many windows even better for staying cool. Fan also available.
Complete kitchen with all necessary items for staying in and cooking.
If you have a car, you can park on the street (free) or better still, in the available garage next to, but separate from the Laneway house.
Host Elvi was easy to communicate with and very helpful.
Excellent location for our group of 3, and we will book again on our next visit to North Vancouver. Thanks

Liked the king sized bed & lil cot. Good communication with host.
Felt insecure at night as two windows didn’t have a lock on them and could have easily been opened from the street.
The parking place in back lane is not clearly marked…& no lights in back lane if one arrives late at night.
The evenings were a tad chilly so we kept windows closed; as a result, we became aware of a strong musty smell in the place, which was not good for our health.
7. Only one sofa bed was functional in common area; the other one was broken. Cooking Pans were ancient.

I came in for work and needed a place to stay close to Lonsdale. Bed was firm and comfortable, place was very clean and larger than expected. Glad to know they take dogs for future trips. I would stay again.
My only con would be that there could be better lighting and signage to the lane house. When I pulled up in my Uber, it was a guessing game which house it was and when you go through the gate, I had to use my iphone flashlight to find the path in the dark. There are quiet a few tripping hazards (bikes, housing materials, and uneven pavestones) so be mindful.
They had a very nice welcome book that you could tell they've put a lot of effort into. It was quite sweet.

the only thing i would like to mention, is that this Lane property is actually in the back yard, and parking is in the alley behind the property.
but I would stay again
