This property is very well equipped, well decorated and tastefully furnished with plenty of space. All the tech works well - tv, wi-fi, music, lights and blinds - all excellent. The key/check in went smoothly and the instructions throughout the property are comprehensive - note the oven should be studied before use. The grounds are excellent and our dog and the grandchildren loved the space. Village pub a bit of a walk uphill but 2 minutes in the car with dog/children is no problem. Nearby plenty of 'cotswold' stuff for you to choose from or just stay in the garden and chill out. Overall - excellent.

5 couples stayed for the weekend in this spacious house in a lovely location.
There were some minor niggles but overall thoroughly enjoyed by all of us helped by having great weather to enjoy the outside. We used the local pub where the food was good and the staff were friendly. The bonus was seeing a barn owl every evening at dusk.

The property is very well appointed with a lovely combined kitchen, dining and sitting room combined on the ground floor. There are huge sliding doors out to the patio and back garden. The kitchen is neat and uncluttered with many comfort features. There is a clever walk in type larder and enormous fridge.
There is a separate living room which is spacious and has closing doors to separate it from the kitchen, dining and sitting area.
There are enough bathrooms to provide one per bedroom in the main house.
The annexe is simple and compact but cute all the same. It is above the garage.
There is enough parking for four cars without too much organisation.
There are local walks and a pub in reasonable walking distance, too.
We spent most of our meal times at the house as it was so pleasant.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Well equipped kitchen. The space was comfortable and generous. All bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds. The house was warm and plenty of hot water. Lovely big grass area for the dogs and enclosed.

We had a wonderful stay in this house for a bit of a reunion. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfy and the communal spaces great for a group. The garden is amazing, the dogs loved running around and the fire pit by the stream made for a lovely evening. We enjoyed the local walks right on the doorstep and the local pub, it’s a great place to meet in a group and plenty to do in the nearby vicinity. I would definitely come back to this house! Thank you!

Great stay. Lovely house. Great outdoor space. Sitting by the stream very tranquil and peaceful. Good location for visiting Cotswolds. Cotswolds Distillery a great day out and Draylsford. Local pub very welcoming although busy mainly with food bookings. House had everything you need and more although the Aga style cooker was a bit complicated and slow when catering for 10 people

The property is beautiful and very well equipped. The enormous garden was perfect for the dogs to have a run.
We could not enter the property or the annex on time as it was still being cleaned at 4pm. However the cleaners were very apologetic and the property was spotless when we entered.
A word of warning about the Everhot cooker. We had precooked our meals and they needed to be heated up. However this type of cooker takes over 2 hours to heat, and even longer to get to a high temperature. We think this warning needs to be mentioned up front so that people can turn on the oven as soon as they arrive as it is not a conventional oven. We ended up having to use the oven in the annex to heat to the correct temperature. The kitchen was very well equipped, however the annex kitchen was less so. All the beds were really comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water for showers for a large group. All in all a great place to stay.

Stayed here as a family of 10 and 1 small dog. Plenty of room and well equipped kitchen. Nice to have a separate lounge from kitchen/family area. Bedrooms were all good as was the one bedroom annex.
Only two downsides check in is quite late and it’s an early checkout.
Annex is away from the main house so if going in the winter and it’s cold and wet be prepared for a walk out in the elements.
Would highly recommend.

High quality throughout the house, all you need and more. Fabulous location too, highly recommend and hoping to return.

Beautiful location in a great area and close to a pub...what's not to like! Already booking for next year

We all loved this place. Country walks straight from the door, great local pub within walking distance and convenient for north cotswolds towns and villages. Very well appointed house with comfortable beds, and everything very clean. Booking was easy and communication very efficient. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Wonderful spacious property in a stunning location. Perfect for a family get together. Would definitely go back.

Hill Top House was amazing. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils so no need to take anything.
The furnishings were of an excellent standard.
It was a total luxurious stay so much so that I have recommended it to friends and would not hesitate to return. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

Loved the house although we felt it could have done with more hoovering, on the website it stated there was a TV in the annex, there wasn’t so that was misleading. Also expected complimentary soap/shower gel/shampoo there wasn’t but soon rectified when rang housekeeper.
On first morning at 6am family was woken up by house alarms going off and consequently every half hour for no apparent reason, it was very unpleasant and scary especially for the 3 small children not to mention the dog, eventually after ringing the housekeeper the problem was resolved but it wasn’t a good start to the holiday.
But saying all that the property was in a wonderful location and very comfortable.

This is our 2nd visit to Colony House. It’s fabulous. Lovely big bedrooms , well equipped kitchen…….a lovely bright happy feel.
There’s plenty of space indoors and out for both nutty spaniels and our toddlers.
The weather was fantastic , very hot and sunny. There’s no parasol available at the property so we ll be bringing our own next time!
At the bottom of the garden, however, there is a shady spot with a small stream to escape the sun.
We plan to return next yr for more family bonding …
Thank you … we love it.

Wonderful house, well appointed, plenty of space for all of us. Huge garden, quiet location, lots of great walks and an excellent pub just up the road.
Unfortunately despite selecting a dog friendly property on vrbo the booking of dogs doesn’t transfer to the booking agent so they hit you with a £40 PER DOG charge and take it straight from your damage deposit after you’ve left. Even when there’s no damage and the property is left spotless. Really soured what was otherwise a great stay

The house was perfect for our family pre-Christmas gathering. It felt like I was in my own home with a lot of items I actually own! The kitchen is best I have ever been in, with every gadget I needed so I was able to cook and bake for the whole family! The room layout was perfect for our adult children and partners plus babies. Thank you

Hill View House is truly stunning. You really feel like you're staying in a home, rather than just a house. It is very well-equipped and the kitchen has pretty much every utensil and gadget you could require. The garden is huge which is perfect for kids and dogs to run around, and plenty of parking at the front for multiple cars.
There were however a few little niggles that meant I did not leave a 5-star review. The welcome book was not left out so we spent a good 30 mins hunting for it. Inside the welcome book it tells you at the everhot (Aga-type oven) is left permanently on - however it was switched off when we arrived (perfectly understandable given current energy costs) but no note left to tell us to switch it on upon arriving. The annoying thing, as we discovered, about these ovens is they take 3.5 hours from cold to heat up to temperature. That meant Friday night dinner was scuppered with 2 hungry kids as we'd come to start cooking around 5:30. Thankfully we realised there was an electric oven in the annexe but that meant us ferrying dinner back and forth from a tiny oven for 10 people... The fridge was also dirty inside when we arrived so we had to give that a good wipe down. The gas lighter to start the fire had no gas in it and there were no matches, so we couldn't have a fire on the first night - we had to go out on Saturday morning to buy some matches and kindling to get it going. The final thing which seemed a bit odd was that the gardener turned up on Saturday morning to do a few hours work in the back garden. Just a bit odd to see someone wandering in the back garden without being told that he'd be there. He was perfectly friendly, but it would have been nice to be told to expect him.
These things all seem like little things, and they were, but just not quite the level of customer service I was expecting for such a beautiful place and for the price we'd paid. If the owners / agents could get these things sorted then I think it would be a perfect getaway.

The property was perfect for a gathering of close friends plus 2 dogs. Beautiful walks, wonderful local pub, everything you could need at the property too, everything has been thought of.
If I were to be picky, then the windows in the kitchen / lounge area could have been cleaned as it spoilt the lovely view into the garden and beyond. It would be helpful to have a tea towel etc in the kitchen annex too.

Perfect house for entertaining or large groups. In the quiet Cotswolds countryside (you need to drive) the location is idyllic, house incredibly well stocked and comfortable! Thank you!!

We spent a lovely bank holiday with our extended family at Hill View House. The set up worked well for our needs, and we enjoyed the large open plan kitchen with bi-fold doors over the extensive garden and view.
Our one struggle was that the garden whilst enclosed, is not secure for dogs and so after ours got onto the road, we then had quite a time keeping an eye on them in the garden which is just so big!

A wonderful family holiday in Sidford Gower.
3 generations together for a week. We had a fabulous time. Our party consisted of 8 adults, 2 twelve month old babies and 3 nutty spaniels all of which had a great time.
The lovely house was bright and spacious. Wifi was excellent - my son and his wife were able to WFH.
Large utility room that easily accommodated 3 dog crates where the dogs slept and ate.
We brought 4 bikes with us. The surrounding area was great for cycling.
Unfortunately there was nowhere to store them.
We had lovely hot weather; full sun all day for 5 days. The back of the house is in full sun with absolutely no shade ; a parasol or sun canopy would have been ideal particularly with the little boys. Parasol is on our list to bring next time!
A few more toilet rolls would be good, a couple of tea towels and maybe a dish cloth!
Plan to return next yr as this lovely house ticked most of our boxes.
Sharon, house keeper, was there if we need her.
Thank you

We stayed with extended family for a few days - loved every moment. The property and area were both stunning. The house was immaculate equipped with pretty much everything we needed for our stay, the bedroom layouts with ensuites worked out really well as we had 3 couples and two lots of kids. Would definitely recommend!

This property was beautiful plenty of space and everything we needed. The garden was amazing and the wonderful views. Fantastic pub down the road for Sunday lunch. The bedrooms were lovely and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped However we needed a lesson on how to use the cooker.
I run 4 holidays lets with my daughter and we are facidious about cleanliness. We did find quite a bit of dust on light fittings on the floor under tables and furniture. But apart from that everything was wonderful.
We weren’t advised of the problem with the patio doors or the blinds before our visit, I think we should have been.
I would recommend this place to everyone and would love to go back.

Lovely Cotswolds Retreat
Stayed here for a hen do and loved it. Gorgeous house that felt homely but also very special. Customer service was great and Sharon was so helpful. My only comment would be maybe the cleanliness (some rooms/ bathrooms were a bit dusty), but nothing really to fuss about! Also there were very few loo rolls provided which was a bit of a pain as shops weren’t super close!

Superb house for an extended family meet up and exploring the Cotswolds
Hill View House (formerly Colony House) provided a lovely base for our recent family get together. The house is well equipped and everything is done to a very high standard. The grounds are large allowing for lots of outdoor games. A little Wendy house for little ones and a set of swings.
Large sliding doors allow for the dining room and kitchen to connect to the garden and outside patio for outside dining.
The village of Sibford Gower has a pub and shop and post office within walking distance. The food in the Wykham Arms is highly recommended. We did not visit the Blaize Inn Saddles which was only open on a weekend.
There are lots of lovely walks with well kept footpaths. Very friendly people around.
We visited the nearby Hooks Norton brewery with their shire horses. Very interesting tour.
We we only had a 4 day stay but hope to be back to see some more of the Cotswolds.

Wonderful family half term break
A stunning property with loads of space for the children to play safely outside, we went with my parents and sister and it comfortably housed a party of 7. Great rooms and facilities, we created some cherished memories over our 5 day break. And I’d also highly recommend a brisk walk to the Wickham Arms pub 10-15 mins walk up the hill, they do great lunch and dinner. Located within a short drive of lots of childrens activities, farm shops, we had great days out at Bourton on the Water, Stowe on the Wold and Stratford Upon Avon. Would certainly recommend this for a family break.

Amazing house, beautifully presented and with great service throughout. Fantastic weekend!
What a fab place to stay at with family and friends. The 8 of us (4 couples) were very comfortable in the beautiful looking house and the 2 dogs loved the incredible garden. Went on some great walks around the area and always looked forward to returning for a few drinks and fun games (plenty of these at the house itself). Home cooked most of the time whilst there and then went to the local pub up the road for one evening which was also amazing. Will be back later in the year!
