Great location, nicely appointed hotel, reasonable food.
Very noisy extractor fan in the bathroom. The food menu was a little limited. The fried eggs were a bit rubbery.

Great hotel fpr what you pay. We only spent the night and then enjoy toad trips and food out in different places in costowolds so for that purpose, it was perfect.
Only spent a quick night. The wine selection can be improved. Not many options and all very cheap and not very drinkable.

Our room was clean, and it had everything we needed. The bad was a bit small, but otherwise, everything was great. The hotel staff was friendly. The hotel building is pretty, and it has a lot of free parking places. Near to the hotel is a petrol station with a small shop. The location is great. We enjoyed our stay.

Location and convenience for exploring the area
No lift; a long walk to the bedroom upstairs and along many corridors; tapping, vibrating noise which disturbed our sleep; toilet too close to the wall in the bathroom; breakfast price too high therefore we came away without having breakfast.

Lovely comfy bed room was very clean and welcoming
Breakfast was a bit small I love a big full English good start for the day

Friendly staff at reception, they gave us a room upgrade on arrival. Nice clean room.
Room was far to hot. Long narrow corridors and a lot of steps to get to our room. Staff in restaurant weren't very organised and the one meal we had there wasn't the best. Cheap frozen fish and cheesecake was grainy and bland. Bar staff were very dry and not very good at conversing. Communal areas were tired looking with a bag in the hallway catching drip from a leak.

Staff lovely. Beautiful grounds. Comfortable room with balcony.
Cooked breakfast on first day very overcooked. Very strange hairdryer - difficult to plug in and see mirror at same time and difficult to operate because had to hold button in. Shame that they have stopped letting pets stay from now on.

Staff were very helpful and pace was very clean.
The room was small, no view, very hot even with fan left on all day. Very dated.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable.
My only issue was that there was no lock on the door to my room. It was an attic room.

Easy access, great character, good sized clean room with good value.

Clean ,breakfast was good
We arrived about 4:30pm we asked could we book an evening meal only to be told that the locals had booked and there was nothing available .Most of the hotels I have stayed in the residents would always get a table for dinner .
They gave us the key to our room but when we got to the room the cleaners were in the room.So we waited in the corridor till they finished.
Sorry Holt Hotel but will not be booking again.

Location was really good. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast offering very good.
The cleanliness really disappointed. The carpet clearly had not been hoovered since the last guests. We found lots of little items from the previous guests which made it evident those areas had not been cleaned.
The placement of the rubber bath mat was very confusing! It was rolled up and tucked behind the toilet brush!
General maintenance of the bathroom was poor- missing grout on tiled floor meant the raw edges of the tiles were exposed. Mould in the bath/shower. Toilet not cleaned to a high enough standard.

carpets upstairs need updating

PERHAPS THE HOTEL WOULD BENEFIT FROM A NEW CARPET IN THE RECEPTION AREA.

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Our first room smelt very smoky but they dealt with that very promptly and changed rooms for us.
The walls are very thin so could hear everything going on in the hallway and in the room next door.

Friendly staff. Comfortable beds
Food wasn't as good as the pictures made it look. We booked a table for 8 and were wanting a leisurely meal. However we we were told at 9 that if we wanted a dessert we would have to order straight away as the kitchen was closed. Really frustrating as we weren't ready for pudding then. We went somewhere else to eat on the second night.
Disturbed in the night by a whining dog

good value and attentive staff

The water was a orange/ brown colour! Absolutely vile and they said it was because of the boiler. It obviously needs some maintenance done to the property because the price doesn’t reflect quality.

*The double bed was super comfortable.
*Shower was really nice and warm.
*Tea and coffee making facilities. Unsure why there were Pret a Manger sugar sachets in there though, but had everything you need and some biscoff biscuits. :D
*Was worried about room being right next to main road but I slept like a baby, didn't hear anything.
*Think breakfast is £15 each so we didn't get that as thought it too expensive. Could be wrong but think this is what booking.com was saying it was online so we didnt enquire.
