Loved our stay in the Bermondsey area. It was easy to get to various attractions via the tube. The #1 bus is also a really lovely scenic ride into central London. It’s a small flat but has everything you need, including many thoughtful items like tea, toothbrushes, etc. We used the travel crib, which barely fit in the bedroom, but it did fit. We also brought our own blackout curtains, which I would recommend if you have a baby. One thing I would note is that you’ll want to bring earplugs if you want to sleep in the living room. There is an occasional beeping noise coming from outside that may bother you - as well as a neighbour coughing really horribly. The neighbourhood is lively. It felt safe but is not the quietest - but it’s happy noise - music, conversation, schoolchildren nearby. It felt like a taste of authentic inner-city London. Overall we had a lovely stay and would certainly recommend this spot.

The apartment is close to public transportation, has nice amenities. The host is thoughtful and responsive.

With the additional fees charged for this apartment, i would have thought the property would have been more presentable. And i dont like being told to take my shoes off inside. And the posted instructions were contradictory about leaving windows open. Finally, an instruction manual for appliances would be helpful.

Good for 2-3 people
Good location, near to Tower Bridge (we walked relaxed 40min
Next station and bus stop 10-15min and some good fast food restaurants and grocery stores on the way.
All in all we were very satisfied with our stay and are looking to come back .London is just awesome.

The flat was cosy but not very comfortable, the mattress is very uncomfortable. The owner insists on no shoes and leaves booties near the front door away from the kitchen where she has a list of rules, including stripping the bed and putting the sheets and towels in a hamper, also if you leave on a Tuesday or Wednesday you have to put the rubbish/recycling out. I have never been to a place where they charge for cleaning but you have to do most of it yourself. As for the directions, it would be so much easier if the flat number given together with the lock box for the keys because it tells you to go to the 3rd block past the stairs and look for the green door on the 2nd floor and once you get up there you find that it’s actually the 2nd block past the stairs. The placement of the cups and bowls is almost impossible for a 5ft2 person to reach, maybe have a rethink about that.

The flat is equipped with everything you might need; in the 30 degree weather, the bottles of cold water in the fridge were particularly appreciated! We were also pleased to be able to check in a couple of hours early (for a £5 fee). Communication was quick and easy. Our only issue was that the blankets supplied weren't suitable for the weather; we improvised with what we found in the cupboard :)

We really enjoyed our time here in Bermondsey. The unit is one of many within a large block of flats. If you are older and unfit, you won’t like the stairs(we are 69 and 62 and they were not an issue). If you want a large area you may find it compact. The bed was comfortable, the sofa bed not so much but it was fine. If you are looking for fairly priced clean accomodation in an inner city location with the ‘Tube‘,shops, local pubs, small supermarkets and takeaway outlets all within an 8 minute walk and Tower bridge and the Tower of London an interesting relaxed 25 min walk away then you will appreciate this well appointed and clean unit where you get a taste of local London life, living side by side with the locals. We particularly appreciated the washing machine, truckloads of tv channels, body wash gels, clothes drying rack and sauces and condiments left to use. There were a couple of minor issues during our week there but they were not of the hosts making and we found they were easily contacted and quick to attend to issues. Overall rating 4.5

The place is as described, small but tidy, conveniently located in a quietish neighbourhood, close to a concentration of craft beer producers.

We stayed for 10 days! There were plenty of eateries around, we felt completely safe. The location and price was perfect. The washer came in handy and the owner communicated with us throughout our stay. The flat had everything we needed!

It is what you think. More accurate photos would have helped anyway.

My 19-year-old son and I loved our stay. The flat offered everything we needed, including a full kitchen and two sleeping areas. The location was great. The #1 bus stop is one block away and is a 15-minute scenic ride into Central London. The Bermondsey Underground station is close by and easy to navigate with friendly, helpful staff. The flat itself was super quiet and both of us slept very well. We bought groceries nearby at St. James Supermarket and ate at a couple neighborhood restaurants. We walked everywhere and loved our walks to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. We wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you for offering such a lovely vacation rental!

Good points :
_ host who responds quickly
_ very good kitchen and bathroom
- metro 10 minutes walk
Negative points :
- huge problem with the neighbor downstairs: noisy to the point that we couldn't sleep. Attempt at a calm resolution the next day, the owner told me that I did not have to speak to her neighbors!... (this was our last exchange). Carmel told me she contacted the authorities, no one came. She was informed of our discomfort given the violence of the neighbors during our exchange but we did not receive any help from her or from Abritel. We are a family including a young teenager, nothing reassuring there.
_ apartment sold for 4 but only suitable for 2! the "sofa bed" is not made to sleep more than one or two nights on it. Located under the window in the open draft, best way to get sick. Table for dinner made for 2 and the chairs are small office chairs in poor condition...
- in addition to the neighbors below, constant noise in the neighborhood which is not very welcoming. After the first night we couldn't sleep, it was another neighbor who put his music on high at 6am.....
- the day of arrival: bins on the terrace and bags containing used linen. A person (who was not Carmel) came at 7:30 p.m. to pick it up. We didn't have the key box code, I had to ask again on the day of arrival...
- unbearable heat and no way to regulate the temperature.
Finally: my parents stayed in the apartment because they had the room but my sister and I had to book another apartment!!

Man this places was prefect a real and accurate apartment for the area. Nice and quiet neighbourhood and so many good shops and pubs very close by. Easy walking around and only a 15 minute walk to the London Bridge

The property is brilliant - when I arrived it was immaculately clean and provided all the amenities I needed for my stay. Situated in a lovely Bermondsey neighborhood which is roughly 10 minutes walk from Bermondsey Tube Station and within walking distance of London Bridge and Borough.
Communication with the owner was also fantastic - Carmel was very accommodating and almost always responded within a few hours of me sending a message.
The only slight criticism would be that the property is initially quite difficult to find; the precise address had not been provided when I'd initially arrived and the instructions could do with making it clearer as to where the flat can be found. However, I must be fair and point out that Carmel was very quick to respond to my message asking how the flat could be found.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this flat to couples or small families looking for a cosy place to stay in a great London location!

Good location, to go to the center we used the bus n°1, which stops a few minutes' walk from the apartment. Alternatively, Tower Bridge was about 30' walk.
Quiet residential area.
Apartment was clean with well equipped kitchen including washing machine.
The sofa in the leaving room had a broken leg and one of us was sleeping the entire week on the floor. We informed the host the first day but there was no reaction. The chairs in the leaving room were well battered. Also, a mirror in a hallway felt down during a night, it was attached with small tape.

Great property and location.

The listing and pictures are accurate, no surprises! I was in London as a tourist and so my days were spent out, I just needed a place to say at night. It worked out GREAT! Thank you! I will add though, the stairs to get up to the 2nd floor apartment are very steep and if you have mobility issues, it could be hard to do with luggage. Other than that, loved it.

Nice Spot
Overall we had a great stay, and the host was excellent, as well as the location: close the Bermondsey Beer Mile (weekends in the afternoon), Tower Bridge and the riverside nearby, and not too far from Tower of London.
The host was responsive and accommodating in advance of our stay, and the place was clean and easy to get into when we arrived. Nothing seemed to be broken, and it was really nice to have the water filter/dispenser in the fridge during the hot summer. The only surprise was that the apartment is on the 3rd floor, which I didn't notice in the listing, but the stairs were close by and it wasn't a major problem. My only complaint would be that the beds were kind of small, and the pull-out in particular has seen better days.
Thanks for having us, will check the listing when we return to London.

Clean but far away
Very clean apartment! It was a bit far from the touristy stuff. Because it is the middle of a neighborhood there is lots of noise from children and parties on the weekend.

The biggest problem was that the host never gave us the actual address to the flat. She gave us the code and we knew the street name, but I had to find the flat based off the picture of the outside. We messaged and never heard back from her during the entire stay.
The flat is about 8 minutes walk from the Tube station. If you are visiting without a car, it's a walk to the public Transport. But it wasn't terrible. Fairly close to Tower Bridge. The flat was as described and clean. The biggest downside was the lack of communication. We didn't have a text number until we got in the flat. And they didn't reply to the VRBO message. If I hadn't found the green doors, we would have been screwed.

Appartement très propre et très bien équipé. Il est très bien situé à moins de 10 minutes de la Jubilee line. Le quartier est calme. Parfait pour une famille de 4. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. Merci beaucoup.
