Jack's Seat was exactly as described, and absolutely beautiful! The outside decks, with beautiful views, was where we spent most of our time. Two bears came to visit (at a very safe distance) - they were the highlight of our stay! The property is a 15 minute drive to Asheville, but far enough away to have a lovely mountain escape. Our host, Josh, communicated important information before our arrival. If we needed anything (which we didn't), we had his contact info. I highly recommend!

My family and I travelled to Asheville for the holidays and had a restful and beautiful stay at Josh’s True Mountain oasis. Josh was an amazing host! From the moment we booked our stay he made sure to reach out and let us know key details about his place. His directions on how to get there were easy to follow and the place was beautifully decorated and very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We will certainly keep in mind for a second visit!

Spectacular views and that offered just the right amount of privacy. The home was meticulously clean and well stocked to meet all our needs. The host was great at communicating all the information we would need. We loved the home and location and hope to come back soon.

4 of us stayed for 5 days and enjoyed all the beauty in and outside of the house.

Impeccably clean and perfect size for our family of three. Great location and comfortable beds. Everything we needed and more for a relaxing stay near Asheville.

This house was a perfect place to stay while visiting the Asheville Area, Blue Ridge Parkway, and surrounding mountains! The house is bright with sunshine, beautiful views and very clean! It’s true to the pictures and had everything you could need. Josh was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions. We would highly recommend this house!

Our stay was everything we expected. Owner Josh was very informative and great about checking on us. The accommodations were impeccable with modern updates but with rustic feel. It was quiet and peaceful location but close to downtown Asheville and minutes from blue ridge parkway. I would highly recommend.

This property was off the beaten path, but close enough to all the entertainment Asheville has to offer. The property owner, Josh, was super accommodating. The first day, we met him and he was wonderful. We took a small group of women and the added security of someone local looking out for us eased our minds.
The house was furnished with everything we could ever want and plenty we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves. It was immaculate and beautiful. The porches were perfect for sitting out with a cup of coffee and enjoying the views. When we return to Asheville, this will definitely be at the top of our list for places to stay.

The home was beautiful and immaculate. They were many thoughtful little touches that made us feel at home. The owners were friendly and attentive. We were in a secluded area, but only 15 minutes from restaurants and grocery stores. And about 7:30 most nights we watched a mama bear and her two cubs come though! It’s was such a peaceful vacation!

Jack's Seat is full of sunlight and fresh air. All the rooms are generously sized and spotlessly clean. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought into providing every convenience to their guests. The kitchen was equipped with plastic bags and coffee filters and all the little things that you forget you need until you don't have them. I was particularly impressed with the rock-lined shower. It felt like bathing in a mountain stream ... but with hot water. The three deck areas were also outstanding and we spent a lot of time outside listening to the birds and enjoying the mountain view. I can confidently recommend this rental.

House was just as described and pictured. Our family loved exploring Asheville, hiking and coming home to sit on the porch and listen to our surroundings. Our girls loved the pond and all of the tadpoles! Highly recommend.

I can't say enough about Jack's Seat. The property is set in a peaceful area and yet conveniently located to everything hiking, shopping, galleries, dining, Pisgah National Forest, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. This was our first trip to Asheville area and we won't hesitate to return and book another stay here! The home is beautiful, the kitchen is well equipped, and the hosts are very attentive to anything you may have questions about. We use VRBO for all of our vacation rentals, and this property was in our top choices of all of the homes we have stayed at. Thank you Josh and Dana for letting us create so many special memories by sharing your home.

My husband and myself stayed here for 5 nights with another couple. The place was super clean, and very well equipped. They even supplied us with a crock pot after we inquired about one.
We were visiting Biltmore to see the Christmas decorations and this was a nice quiet and relaxing place to cook and hang out in the evenings.
We would stay again!

You get what you pay for with this upscale VRBO! Located on a large, private lot only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, the unit's interior is spacious, comfortable, and immaculately clean. Top-notch appliances and thoughtfully-selected furniture make the open living area - complete with gas fireplace and entertainment center - ideal for eating and relaxing. If we had to describe this vacation in one word, it would be "revitalizing." This mountain retreat was exactly what we needed after the stress of the last few years!

My husband and I met my sister and brother-in-law here for 6 days of fun in Asheville! The house was perfect for us - a beautiful view, with beautiful furnishings and 2 bedrooms that were separated by the main living space. The house is exactly as pictured online, and Josh was a welcoming and helpful host! The house is only about 17 minutes from Asheville - but it's a bit of a winding drive (good prep for the Blue Ridge parkway!) Also, you are definitely in the foothills here, so cell phone use - particularly text messaging - was sometimes difficult. Both a landline phone and free wi-fi are available - but you might not be able to make restaurant reservations from the house since they all seem to require a confirmation code sent via text! Highly recommend Jack's Seat for anyone wanting to enjoy the beauty of Western North Carolina along with proximity to Asheville's restaurants and downtown activities, the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Biltmore House.

Jack's Seat is just as lovely as the photos, and the setting is spectacular...especially in October when the fall foliage is on full display! The house and everything in it was immaculately clean and well organized. The furnishings are rustic-contemporary and comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and all of the details are tasteful: colorful dinnerware (Fiesta) and linens (fluffy thick towels) as examples. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and Netflix movies late at night. We took advantage of the location and drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway, visited the Biltmore Estate and the downtown galleries. We even caught some bluegrass music at a bakery/cafe in Brevard. Note: You must have breakfast at one of the Biscuit Head restaurants...best biscuits ever! Still, it wasn't easy to push ourselves out of the house! Josh, the owner, is extremely nice and helpful. As two (shall we say?) older ladies, we so appreciated his help with our luggage, getting it up and down the outside stairs, and his friendly and thoughtful presence. He was staying the downstairs apartment when we were there, but we didn't even hear him nor did we bother him, he said. In short: You'll love this place!

So close to everything. Beautiful location that was a pleasure to go to every night. Easy to get to the parkway and Asheville. House was neat and tidy with all necessary items. Josh was always accessible and ready to answer any questions. Highly recommend.

Some thought, and investment, went into making this rental one of the nicest VRBO's we've rented! The views were great (lots of windows), the caliber of the appointments were top notch, and the kitchen was just amazing, with way more than the usual kitchenware, utensils and supplies (e.g., coffees, sugar, and a huge seasoning rack).
First time renters might be challenged locating this if you are using Google Maps (that takes you to the end of the road, well past the rental). Use Apple Maps or once you are sure that you are actually on the right road, use the mailbox numbers and you'll find it, no problem!
Lastly, the hosts were great to work with!
We definitely plan to stay here again next time we're visiting Asheville.

My husband and I went with my parents to Asheville. This was a great house for us to stay. Josh was a great host and the house was very comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful views. The kitchen is very well stocked and the spice drawer was much appreciated!! I would highly recommend this house! Thank you Josh for making sure we were comfortable and had information about the house and the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at this awesome property! The place was immaculate and they had everything one could need! Beautifully equipped kitchen and very comfy furniture to relax on. Josh and Dana were super hosts! Location was great, out of the way, yet only a short trip to town. We will definitely come back to this property! It was just the relaxing getaway we were hoping for!

Very nice stay. The house had a great location. within 20 minutes of downtown and all activities, but also had great mountain views. We saw a bear twice during our stay.

Best experience in 10 years of VRBO stays! Setting is idyllic mountain retreat convenient to Asheville, the property is immaculate and well maintained. Owners are the best we have encountered and have their guests in mind in all the details. We will travel back here just to stay and unwind in a wonderful setting.

Perfect Asheville getaway
Jack’s Seat was the best experience we’ve had with a rental. Everything there was top notch! The owner made sure we had everything we needed. The location was convenient yet secluded enough to feel like a true vacation. We can’t wait to go back!

Quiet and convenient mountain retreat
Jack's Seat is going to be an annual retreat for us, I'm sure! We were one of the early renters last year and fell in love with this property. This year's stay continued to exceed expectations. Convenient to Blue Ridge and downtown Asheville, grocery store a short ride away. Pristine facility with showers you actually want to stay in if not for the luxurious Hotel towels waiting for you when you get out of the shower. Everything you might need for cooking if so inclined. And a mountain view to enjoy gorgeous sunsets. Bonus: a yard that gets the occasional bear visit if you're lucky with large windows to watch them safely. Can't wait to come back soon.

Perfect in every way
We have rented a number of holiday homes using VRBO and this was by far the best. The location was perfect. We wanted a place in the hills outside of Ashville and this home fit the bill. It was a short drive to shops and restaurants. It was like being in a tree house - with perfect views of the trees and hills surrounding the house. The house itself was perfect, A beautiful deck on all sides with plenty of seating. The inside was like a luxurious, high end hotel. Everything looked new and was impeccably clean. The main living areas were beautiful with vaulted ceilings and large windows looking out onto the decks. The living space was open plan with the most beautiful kitchen and several seating areas. The owner was in touch with us and recommended places for us to visit. All in all a perfect home for our short vacation.

Beautiful Wooded Property Near Downtown Asheville
If you want a quiet getaway in the woods, this a great place to stay. Lots of big windows and decks with views to the woods and mountains in the distance. Contemporary finishes, well maintained and nice extra touches made this perfect for our anniversary getaway. Downtown Asheville is an easy trip, about 20 minutes away, and we were able to get an Uber so we could enjoy several breweries in one evening.

Wonderful stay!
What a wonderful family vacation we had. It isn’t always easy traveling with an 10 month old and three year old but our stay was amazing! From the added safety touch of the baby gate to the beautiful clean (child safe) home. This place did not disappoint! We sure hope to be back! Thanks for making our first family trip one for
The books!

Absolutely Amazing!
This property was amazing for our first visit to the Asheville area. The house was a perfect blend between a cozy mountain feel with modern/clean appliances and bathrooms. Very private setting! Everything was perfect. Close to all amazing hiking/mountain/waterfalls areas. Close to downtown for easy access to go out at night for dinner, should that be what you want to do. Stayed with my girlfriend and 7 year old son, totally perfect. Loved the house! Loved the Asheville area! Definitely will be back!
