Big Red Cottage: Open concept living space with vintage cottage finishes, soaring ceiling, two bedrooms with king beds, and separate living space with its own entrance on the lower level (accessed via exterior staircase). A large dual-shower bathroom on the upper level and a separate private bathroom on the lower level provides plenty of capacity. An expansive screened porch wraps the upper-level front of the cottage, situated directly on the dune bluff; the harbor views are fantastic. A separate private patio is accessible from the lower-level. Includes washer/dryer.
**Please note that the exterior amenities (hot tub, fire pit, etc) are shared with the other cottage in the Treetops compound.
Big Red is the largest of the three cottages. Sprawl out in the open-concept living room, gather round the indoor dining table in the eat-in kitchen, or make yourself comfortable on the huge wrap-around porch.
The Treetop’s vintage cottages come with a spectacular location. Perched on top of a 50-foot dune, the complex is positioned directly across the lake from downtown Saugatuck. As the primary means of access to Lake Michigan, the harbor is perpetually full of boats, music, and other fun sights viewable from the cottage porches and firepit.
It’s also a short 15 minute dune hike (or 2-minute drive) to award-winning Oval Beach, named in Condé Nast Traveler’s Top 25 Beaches in the World, National Geographic Traveler’s Top Freshwater Beaches in the USA, and MTV’s Top 5 Beaches in the USA.
No one said a cottage couldn’t be luxurious. Elevate your family’s vacation stay with an open-concept living and kitchen space, packed with functionality, sophistication, and hand-picked amenities.
Big Red’s gourmet kitchen includes everything a chef could need: a range, microwave, coffee pot, pots, pans and more. Plus, a four-top dining table adds comfort to your morning cup of joe and locally-purchased pastries.
Outside, a gas grill is accompanied by plenty of outdoor seating. So whether your family and friends desire a nice night in, or want to indulge in a whole-group grilling bonanza, the Treetops is a special place to escape from the ordinary.
Big Red is the first Treetop cottage you'll see from the road, sitting atop a long staircase and hidden behind tall trees. Big Red has easy access to the shared firepit, outdoor dining area, and professionally maintained hot tub.
Big Red’s spacious main level includes two bedrooms with king-sized beds and french doors which open onto private decks, plus a full bath, eat-in kitchen, open-concept living area, and wrap-around screened-in porch. The lower level walkout suite has its own entrance and holds twin trundle beds and a full bath.
Big Red is the largest of the Treetops cottages, the perfect place to gather your family or friends, inside or out, and there’s even a private entrance to the lower level if anyone requires more privacy. Enjoy the communal firepit and hot tub––not to mention the breathtaking views!

The property is very cute. There are two bedrooms on the main floor and one with a separate entrance. The location worked great for our purposes.

This was our second trip to the special place in the cabin. We enjoyed game nights by the fire and the comfortable beds. Can’t wait to come back again!

Lovely property. It was too cold to use the beautiful enclosed porch but I’m sure in the summer it’s delightful. Super clean and easy to drive to town (no chain ferry in October). Oval beach is close but up a very steep hill so not really bike friendly. Supermarket, restaurants, galleries all within 5-15 min drive. View of river great. Couldn’t be happier.

We absolutely loved our stay in the red cottage. The amenities were so nice, the lights and ambiance were perfect, and the view was lovely. If you’re looking to stay at a quality home away from home, stay here! It’s not a cheaply done rental with leftover pots and pans. It’s super nice and cozy and special. My family had an amazing time and want to go back! We also want to check out the A frame across the street! The host was amazing and quick with her communication as well. Thank you!!!

We enjoyed spending time just caching up on each other's busy lives, having many laughs and going to great restaurants. Also spent a day pampering ourselves at a spa in town. It was always great coming back to the cottage and relaxing in such cozy surroundings. Maybe we'll make it a tradition!

This was perfect for a get together of old friends looking to hang out around a firepit, watch football, take some hikes, strike into town a little bit, and generally just appreciate the Michigan fall. Comfortably slept 4 with two sharing a bed, and cooked easily and happily in the kitchen. Thanks for hte great weekend!!

We came into Saugatuck for a relaxing weekend prior to my brother's wedding and this house had absolutely everything we needed! It was comfortable and clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We really enjoyed the screened in porch and spent most of our time relaxing out there. The hot tub was great too! Erica was very responsive and helpful - check in process was super easy.
Overall, we had an incredible time and would definitely stay here again!

Amazing cabin minutes from downtown Saugatuck!
Erica made sure our stay was great and answered all our questions right away. We go to Saugatuck often, but have never stayed in Saugatuck. This cabin was in the best location! Not right in downtown, but minutes away by car or the chain ferry! Also just a short drive to Oval Beach. We watched boats go by from the screened in porch and just hungout and relaxed. Will be staying here again!!

Amazing Cozy Cottage
We absolutely loved staying in the cottage! Erica is a fantastic host. Great communication. Very accommodating and helpful. They even came over and shoveled the walkways after snowfall! The cottage was perfect for our cozy winter get away. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook with. The hot tub and fire place were so nice. I can’t wait to come back in the summer and experience it then too!

Excellent
This was an adorable little place super close to so many things to do! Everything was clean and ready to go. We were a little confused by the two separate entrances but figured that out with no issue. There is no handicapped access here so just an FYI. The views over the river are amazing. If you have little kiddos do watch the road, we noticed a few distracted drivers and you park super close to their passing. Overall we would love to rent out all 3 for a big family gathering. Our kids had a blast!

The cabin was perfect for our getaway. Super clean and much closer to the water than expected. Spent a lot of time watching the boats go in and out of the Harbor from the porch. So close to the beach as well, where we did morning hikes and evening sunsets, and easy access to town for everything else!
