About this house rental
The remarkable Chateau House was built in 1929 and is set on nearly 2 acres of park-like grounds in a peaceful residential neighborhood of historic homes. Over 4000 square feet of original architectural features are yours to enjoy, plus updates like excellent climate control. Enjoy the handsome custom bar in the Great Room, a basement 1920s Speakeasy with pool table, and beautiful art, mirrors and furnishings throughout. Perfect for a special getaway, wedding prep for your event at Kingwood or the Mansfield Art Center, or simply the best game night ever (life-size Clue, anyone?)!
The main floor includes a fully-equipped kitchen, a cozy chestnut-paneled library, dining room with seating for 10, and the spectacular Great Room which features a large custom bar (with two beverage fridges) and a limestone fireplace. This floor has a half bath located off the tower stair hall.
The kitchen is modernized with stainless steel appliances, a separate beverage refrigerator, granite countertops, and lots of natural light; coffee supplies include a coffee maker, pour-over set-up, and a Keurig with all the basics stocked: ground coffee, Keurig cups, creamer and sugar.
Bedroom 5 with ensuite full bathroom is also on the main floor.
The second floor has four bedrooms and two full baths:
Bedroom 1: California King bed
Bedroom 2: Queen bed (and a door to the full hall bath)
Bedroom 3: Two Queen beds (and a door to the shared “Jack and Jill” full bath)
Bedroom 4: King bed and a Twin trundle bed (with a door to the shared “Jack and Jill” full bath)
***Bedroom 1 also has the option of 2 additional pop-up twin beds with foam mattresses - comfortable and best suited for guests under 225 lbs
Bedroom 5 (on the main floor): Twin bed and en-suite private full bath - this room was the former maid's quarters
In the basement you’ll find a “secret” 1920s Speakeasy with copper bar and a pool table with additional seating.
Outdoor spaces include a screened porch with sofa sectional and television, an outdoor wood-burning fireplace, various seating areas around the private backyard, a French-inspired stone terrace, and a bench swing in the front yard.

I don't know if there are enough positive things to say about this property for my wife's 50th birthday weekend. The space was ample for the 8 of us to enjoy each other's company while still having time away if necessary. The grounds provided the backdrop for images and memories that will last forever. My grandkids are still talking about our stay 3 days after we have left. The owner's went above and beyond and we are hoping we can visit again soon.

We really enjoyed this beautiful property! Marissa is a fabulous host and very responsive. The house was immaculately clean inside and the provided amenities are much appreciated! There is plenty of space for the 11 of us adults to relax and hang out. It was an extremely hot week and the house was always comfortable as the a/c works great, thankfully! Loved it!

our Mansfield family reunion was a trip to remember. My dad grew up in the house next door to the VRBO. The memories we made will be everlasting. Thank you so much for providing an unforgettable stay ~

We were a large group of 14 people. Everyone had a bed, but there are 3 rooms that had to be shared. This was not a problem as we are all family. The pictures in the listing do not do it justice. This was the most opulent home I've ever stayed in. So many original features. It was very clean and everything we needed (and more) was provided. The owner was very responsive when it came to questions. There is plenty of outdoor space and it is very pretty. This house is truly a gem hidden in Ohio.

Plenty of things to like about this house! Close to resturaunts and the downtown in Mansfield as well as within 30 minutes of outdoor activites such as hiking and canoeing. The owners are also personable and responsive.

Beautiful property, we loved the back yard!
My nephew was getting married, i needed a place for our family, the groom and his groomsmen. It was a precious time of fellowship.
This home worked perfect. The hosts were lovely. We played games outside and cooked more than the young men could eat! The only thing we needed was another fridge and someone to share the food with.

We had a gathering for our 5 year anniversary. We spent a couple of nights on our own, and one with friends. Tons of space, gorgeous antique and vintage details, and the owners were so accommodating.

This was a very unique place to stay from the bar in the great room to the pool table the basement. The one granddaughter said it was like a castle. The owners did a scavenger hunt the 3different groups completed. We let the little ones get the prize. We all loved staying here.

Celebrartion Weekend
The perfect Chateau. We had family come in from RI, GA, NH & NJ to help us celebrate the marriage of our daughter and son-in-law. The house is elegant,
filled with historic charm and the back garden is stunning! The family stated the beds were very comfortable and appreciated all the amenities.
The flow from the great room, dining room and kitchen, then on to the patio made this a family gathering point several times over the weekend.
I would highly recommend this location.
