This place is HOT!
My husband has slept on the couch every night because the AC wouldn’t get below 75 and it was hot!
-food in bowls and pans, this was straight up nasty!!!
-Filters are disgusting and my son had to change the filters.
-The front doors needs a $20 lock it is extremely hard to open and for kids it’s impossible
-Screen door doesn’t close and keeps swinging open and shut all day and night
Rat in storage
Roaches in the bathroom
1 roll of paper towels for 8 people
No soap to wash hands in bathrooms for 8 people also one small thing of soap in kitchen for the entire house…
No hot mitts to get something out of the oven
Kitchen faucet needs to be tightened wiggles a lot
We had a $445 service fee and I’m not sure what for no one came to fix the AC!
Mosquitos in the shower, not sure where they are coming from
The pictures when booking are different for the 3D tour. The 3D tour are not the correct pictures.
The owner/management makes plenty of money to make a few changes and this place needs it desperately. Our family over looked many things, however when it comes to AC I can’t overlook when we were all sun burned and we all just needed cool air.
Beds and pillows are comfortable
Living room has a good set up
The tvs were a little hard to figure out and living room tv didn’t turn one but once someone came out and got them working it was good
Too many homes for the same price to rent for us to come back here but best of luck to the next lucky person

Everything was perfect and so easy. Furniture really maximizes the efficiency of the space. Cozy and comfortable - exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed games on the deck in the evening and watching movies in the comfortable living room at night. Sleeping in and waking up to the beautiful views. Will definitely return. I debated writing a review because I don’t want people to know about this place - it will definitely be a hot commodity!!

King size beds in each bedroom.

We had a very nice time. The house was well stocked, comfortable and the location was wonderful. Mornings were spent on the deck drinking coffee and restaurants were conveniently located. The house was in need of a little TLC (new door, kitchen sink leaks, dryer vent needs cleaned and replaced) but overall a wonderful time was had by all!

Better than I expected.

The house is fine, and the location was great, BUT PLEASE FIX THE SMALL STUFF AND CLEAN
The management company required all sorts of information.
Night one we had the painting above the bed fall down on our heads in the middle of the night.
Day 1-2 Contruction both houses next door one of the homes was pounding foundation and shook the entire house not to mention the noise.
House was extremely dirty they picked up cleaned things on surface but if you look at anything its covered in dust kitchen had not been cleaned well i know the tenant before had a good red sauce, Dead cockroaches under the beds, shower door did not shut all the way and the rooms are tiny including bathrooms feels like a airplane bathroom. I left 4 days early as it was just not worth staying, Location is beautiful.
Internet was not reliable.
Grill was a rust bucket

Loved the location ! Close to town and beach. Everything we needed was provided. Would book this again

The home is so close to the water, great view from front porch/balcony. It is also close to restaurants. Overall it was a nice place to stay.
My complaints: the bedding, sheets did not fit, too small and the pillows were flat as pancakes. Also the tv in the room with king size bed did not work.
4.2
The home really needs some fixing up. Doors, lights, fixtures, toilets. Etc. all in a state of needing repair. It felt like everything you touched may break.
4.2
The location is everything! Walk to the water in a minute! We loved everything about our stay. Plan to book this place on future visits!

Our 5th stay at this sweet house on the west side. The beach view is great. Convenient to Galveston just a 5 minute drive to the island. Bermuda Beach is a small, quiet neighborhood. The house needs a little TLC, but otherwise we have no complaints.
4.2
The location of this house is perfect for a staycation. Its a great place to enjoy quietness with a great view. The Strand is a 20min drive away which makes this location great. The house is small but still big enough for a family of 4. This is our 3rd year staying here and we enjoy it every time. We had an issue with the wifi but resolved quickly. Communication was quick and easy.

We stayed at this house in 2021 before it changed hands and Vacasa took over management. It was amazing then so we were excited to stay again. This time was completely different. There was poop smeared in the walls in one of the bathrooms and several long dark hairs stuck to the shower wall and towels. We also had 2 giant roaches come to visit. To go along with them, there were 2 huge mice nests. They had ripped the insulation out of the downstairs closet and used it for nesting material. The nests were so big and heavy they caused the boards they were sitting on to drop down. The beach proximity is awesome, but it’s not worth the vermin. They did refund the 2 nights we stayed, but it didn’t make up for the BS we dealt with.

The property location is great! It's second row but has a first row view. There were some AC problems that prevented my husband and I from staying in the larger bedroom. My teenage grandson decided to tough it out but he said it got too hot during the night to sleep. AC repair was sent out promptly and it got a little better but still a problem. The other two bedrooms were nice and cool. The bathrooms need a thorough cleaning and were a bit grungy where the baseboards and flooring meet and in the shower stall. The kitchen has enough pots, pans, etc. but bring your own supplies such as spices and cooking oils. All in all, we had a good time and the location makes it worth it. But I really hope the AC gets fixed because I'd like to rent it again for another trip with the teenage grandkids and we need all three rooms.
4.2
My family really enjoyed our stay! The view from the deck is amazing. House is second row but it's offset so the view is unobstructed to the beach (south) and east (beautiful sun rises). Beach is a short 2 minute walk from the house and is private, so there are no vehicles or anyone not staying in a house. It was very peaceful.
Our kids loved the comfortable couches that recline, the giant TV and the bunk beds. The bathrooms are on the small side but still functional. How much vanity space do you need when you're at the beach anyways?
Our only complaints were that the outside of the home could use a little TLC (Paint mostly), and there were ants in the kitchen. I always travel with my own cleaning supplies, so we did our best to keep it clean but they were definitely a problem that should be addressed. Overall we loved our stay!
4.2
We love the location! The house just fits our needs. However, the WiFi didn't work well enough to watch 15 minutes of TV. I'm not sure if you switched providers or not but it wasn't this way last year. I am glad l motion lights were installed on the stairs and the new stairs looked great. Also, we liked the Ring cameras on the driveway and deck. The downstairs shower was great for rinsing off beach sand. Definitely made year 2 a great vacation. See you again same time next year!

We have an elderly dog so were limited this trip to choosing a house that allowed pets. Being able to bring our oet was a plus. The property has 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. It is close to the beach with a beach view. Very nice. We loved the decor. The home was very clean for our arrival. Normally I am not a budget vacation person but this trip was different w kids and a dog. For the price I felt this was a super find. The house isn't too far from attractions in Galveston so we did not have to spend a lot of time driving. Good restaurants and grocers were also nearby. We loved the furniture in this house. The coffee table is perfect for playing board games, it has little stools that pull out to sit on. Kids loved this. We also liked the reclining seats in the couches. Great view of beach from the deck. Would recommend for a family on a budget.
4.2
Great location, close to the beach, nice amenities. Plenty of plates, coffee mugs, cooking and eating utensils. Bedrooms are very small, there is not enough room in the king size rooms to move around or even your luggage. Bathrooms are also extremely small and need upgrading to adult size toilet. Overall it was a nice home.
4.2
Pictures were deceiving. This place was disgustingly dirty upon arrival: dead bugs, sticky stuff on floors and countertops, grime, dirt and sand on tables, chairs and floors. The bedrooms were so small and dingy that you couldn’t even fit ur suitcases in there. The bathrooms were tiny, 2 people literally couldn’t fit in the bathroom at same time. Shower soooo tiny, when hit the wall when turning around. Barely any necessities- 2 scratchy rolls of toilet paper, scratchy sheets, no oven mitts. You can tell this property is not being managed by an owner but rather a company like Vacasa that did NOT make this stay any better. Beware.
4.2
The house is located at the beach, with a super view from half of the deck, and easy access. The deck is large and clean. Deck furniture is heavy and comfortable. Inside the home looks pretty much as shown in pictures. Beds are adequately comfortable. The house needs some attention: master shower is dirty, kitchen under sink cabinet is wet and dirty, several hidden areas are not as clean as they should be. The other bathroom is bright and cheery, with a good shower. We had ants in most rooms and one large roach who was quite elusive.
The outside shower is not a place into which I would venture, as it is dirty and dark. The two grills are not clean.
We enjoyed the little beach chairs.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Proximity to the beach is fabulous. Location in Galveston is convenient. I would stay here again, but I would hope the ants would be gone and the areas that need cleaning would be addressed.
4.2
The view from the deck was amazing! They had great outdoor furniture and we enjoyed watching the water. The living room furniture was great and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, cutlery and pots and pans, etc. The bedrooms didn't have much room with king sized beds in them. The bathrooms were small and dated. When we arrived, the key did not work in the lock. I contacted Vacasa and they got with the local agent and he brought a key within 15 minutes. Saturday morning we had no hot water for showers. Come to find out, there was a closet with bare insulation that had a single uncased switch that we flipped and it turned on the hot water heater. I am not sure why anyone would turn it off. We tried to use the grill but it was filthy so we opted to cook indoors. Many of the dishes/utensils were dirty when we took them out of the cabinets. They gave us one dish towel for the kitchen. The place had everything we needed but is in need of some updating inside and out.
4.2
This property was great! The location is perfect, steps from the sand, property itself is beautiful!
4.2
House needs some minor updates. Beautiful view and great location. Only complaint was the WI-FI information I was given was not correct. When I called the number they said they would have to contact a local person and we never heard back. Fortunately my husband was able to figure it out. Other than that love Galveston!
4.2
We booked this property due to its proximity to both downtown Galveston and easy beach access. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly, the view really really nice, and the 2 min walk to the beach fantastic (especially for the 6-year old and fishing fanatics).
The house itself was more conflicted. The exterior was messy with both garbage (cigarette butts, dental picks, and other) as well as strewn about furniture and broken items (both ground floor and on the upper deck) The lock box was nearly rusted shut and extremely difficult to get into and this was also true of the front door bolt.
The interior was much better than anticipated given the exterior state- and clean. The kitchen worked very well as did the common areas and bathrooms. It would be nice to see cleaned ceiling vents and some finish work around the light/vent ceiling fixture in the bathroom with the shower (which also had amazing water pressure!), but nothing that was unworkable. However, we did find a roach in the bathtub one morning and that wasn’t a whole lot of fun.
I will also say that as someone unfamiliar with Vacasa rentals- I felt the communication lacked. I felt overall uninformed on what was expected of us as renters. There was no literature at the house re: do’s, don’t’s, or check out- and I had to really hunt on the Vacasa sight to figure that out.
Overall while it was not a bad trip- I’m not sure I would rent again. The property has a lot of potential- but really needs some investment to get it to a better experience for renters.

Great location and access to the beach.
4.2
Great location and access to the beach.
4.2
Rained on the first day but we were still able to watch the ocean waves coming in and the seagulls flying. Plenty of room for all of us to be alone or be together. Place was close to all the attractions but far enough to not be around all the crowds.
4.2
The location, nice house, bring towels not many and no wash cloth’s.
Plenty of cookware , dishes and utensils.
Bring foil, plastic wrap , paper towels, and toilet paper.
4.2
The pictures are deceiving, there is no tv in the room with the bunk beds. And the A/C does not work well at all, they do have three stand alone A/C's in addition to the central air but it still gets hot in there during the day. And the room with the bunk beds stays hot. There isnt any kind of satellite TV, you can watch live TV on the roku stick that they have but that is only if the internet is working. The majority of the time the internet kicks you off and you have to manually go in and reconnect. The TV in the living room randomly shuts off at night time so you cant watch it. The thermostat is very difficult to figure out, I would recommend putting some sort of instructions for use for that and the TV. Sitting on the deck and enjoying the view was very nice though.
4.2
We loved staying at Once Upon A Tide. Everything was there that we might need. We were able to walk on the beach every morning and meet some neighbors. Everyone was so nice and friendly. The house was close to the seawall but far enough away that we didn’t have any noise at night. The owners are very responsive and a pleasure to work with!
4.2
Enjoyed the spacious deck and ocean view. New furniture was a little large for the rooms. Felt a little crowded. Comfortable bed with adequate linens. Kitchen essentials met our needs. We usually cook breakfast most days. Appreciated the K-cup brewer and the beverage cooler. Washer and dryer also met needs. Kitchen sprayer faucet was too short for the sinks and curved sprayer awkward to use. Appreciated two bathrooms, one shower stall, one bathtub with shower. The shower stall had a shower head that couldn’t adjust and sprayed at face level. Enjoyed watching the oversized TV at night. Exterior vinyl siding coming loose from under the kitchen window. Found a long board on the ground under the house that must have come loose from the structure. Heard banging outside one evening and found the non functioning satellite dish fallen to the ground with cord trailing across the stairway. We would be willing to return if the maintenance issues were addressed. We really enjoyed the location and the view.
4.2
The location was wonderful. We enjoyed the deck with a view of the gulf.
4.2
Pictures online showed two twin bunkbeds. When we got there it was one double bunk bed which was not what we were hoping for.
4.2
We had a great experience! The place was very clean and spacious. The beds are very comfortable. The patio gave us an excellent view of the Gulf. The chairs on the patio are very comfortable I would highly recommend this place!

This was our second year staying at this house (Once Upon a Tide) and had a great experience. The location is perfect and quiet for a relaxing vacation. It's also not too far from the Seawall, the pier and restaurants. The house is fully stocked with everything you need. There is no available drinking water unless you want faucet water. It looks like they took the water filtration system out this year, so bring lots of water. Overall, we will be back next year as its the perfect size for our family and the location is ideal.
4.2
Everything as advertised. Cant wait to book another stay.
4.2
Loved the house. Beautiful furniture , wine frig !! The view is amazing !!! Coffee never tasted so good on the deck !! Anything we needed the management/owner were so fast and very helpful. We will be back ❤️
4.2
Location and outdoor balcony.

Finally got the property address the week before our stay and the lock box combination the morning of our stay. The property was clean and ready for us - no issues with the accommodations. The bed was comfortable as were the living room furnishings. The deck has a nice view of the water and it's an easy stroll to the beach. We lucked our with pleasant weather throughout our stay. One minor issue : the dryer vent is plugged with lint which creates a fire hazard and the lint trap is torn in several places aggravating the hazard.
4.2
The house was lovely. The location was excellent. The beach view was breath taking.
