About this apartment rental
One bedroom apartment in a town house built in 1855, just 15 mins walk to the Halifax Waterfront. Located in a low-rise, heritage-controlled area, one block from Citadel Hill and the Halifax Commons. A diverse, artistic and friendly residential neighbourhood in the centre of Halifax.
The apartment is very warm and bright and features stone and brick accent walls, a well equipped kitchen and a high quality queen sized bed and an en suite bedroom.
The whole apartment is open to our guests and exclusively for your use.
Parking is available with prior agreement in the parking lot on-site. Parking is limited so please let us know if you need a parking spot.
The neighbourhood has many fitness resources (TaiChi centre, outdoor roller/ice skating oval, Olympic size swimming pool, bouldering cafe). There are lots of good cafe's and restaurants nearby. There is a craft brewery, artisanal delicatessen and many artist run galleries and shops nearby. And nothing in downtown Halifax is more than a comfortable walk away so the list of things to do includes deep sea fishing, whale watching and sailing cruises on the Halifax Waterfront, theatre, live music, pubbing and clubbing in the downtown and lots of shops and restaurants catering to a wide range of interests and tastes. Halifax is home to six universities and so has a large and vibrant student scene (closest is NSCAD our fine arts university - so many artists reside in the area). The house is located in an urban residential neighbourhood, which is diverse, friendly, colourful, generous and accepting of others.
Halifax Transit bus route planning is available through Google Maps - https://www.halifax.ca/transportation/halifax-transit/transit-technology/google-transit The train/bus station is a 20 minute walk away but there are several city bus lines passing on Gottingen Street (a couple minutes walk away) and the airport bus stops at nearby hotels (~10 minute walk). Halifax Transit bus route planning is available through Google Maps - https://www.halifax.ca/transportation/halifax-transit/transit-technology/google-transit . Casino Taxi and Yellow Cab are usually very quick to pick you up from the house to get where you need to go and Uber is also available.
We have very good high-speed WiFi (327 Mbps download/12 Mbps upload). We don't have cable TV but we provide access to Netflix. We provide towels, bed sheets and blankets, kitchen towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo and all cleaning supplies.

Had a great stay here with my family. Perfect location near a huge park and an ice cream shop!

We had a fantastic time staying at this quaint place. So close to everything we wanted to do in downtown Halifax. No reason to rent a car when you stay here! This place was fully stocked with everything you need. Grocery store not too far of a walk to pick up some breakfast and dinner items if you choose. Close to the harbour front with all the restaurants and bars. Would highly recommend staying here!

This apartment has all you need. At the end of the street (downhill to Gottingen) is the most amazing bakery! LF bakery has THE BEST almond croissant and cinnamon buns I've ever had, baked fresh on site. My croissant was still hot! A must stop for your coffee and breakfast every morning. Same corner was super fun at night. We enjoyed live music at the Seahorse Tavern most night after our walk home from the harbourfront. My husband and I came up for Jazz Fest and a couple joined us and slept on pullout couch. The location couldn't be better to all the venues. Never spent a penny on cabs. Walked every where. Hosts were quick to respond to any special requests and even brought a treat of local strawberries when we mentioned the back up battery for the wired fire alarm needed changing. Would stay here again!

Overall stay was excellent except alarm noise while cooking

The location is perfect (close to the Citadel, the waterfront and grocery shopping), and the full kitchen is a bonus. There's no cable, but Netflix is a decent compromise. We had a little trouble with the code, but that was remedied fairly quickly.

Good location to downtown. You can hear the upstairs neighbors for sure...but the apartment is super cute and was everything we were looking for. The ownwers were lovely and very quick to answer our questions and inquiries.

Review of stay at VRBO
Cozy 1 bedroom, 15 min walk to Argyle St. Bed was very comfortable. But after a long day of sightseeing, returning at 9pm and hearing stomping feet on the ceiling from the renters above every night - not cool. Went on until 11pm, even with TV, on I could hear kids running around. If you want a quiet night, check to see if renters above have kids. Also saw 4 bugs on the floor. No compensation offered from owner.

Although I never met Kevin & Catherine they were in constant contact and very helpful. My only problem was climbing back up all the hills in Halifax at the end of the day 😂 Coming from SW Ontario I’m not used to everything being up hill. There were lots of cafes & restaurants in the area. I really enjoyed my stay

I loved everything except the family who lived upstairs. A mother and 2 daughters. They were loud, with lots of yelling at each other, stomping on the floor. I know the owner talked to the mother but nothing changed.
