We had a wonderful time at this secluded, beautiful home. Beds were great and lots of room for our family of 13.

The location was amazing, in a secluded area of the lake so the preteens could go out on the kayaks and still be supervised. There was a ton to do for all ages, we didn’t even have to really leave for entertainment. Our only complaint was that the 7th bedroom in the basement didn’t have a window. That seems like a safety hazard.

Had a wonderful time ! Thank you !

The house is nice and in a quiet location. Not in the busy part of the lake but the property has plenty of activities and boats and supplies for fun!
4.8
this property suited our needs nicely. it was clean and well-kept, and amenities like games and water equipment were great to have. Owners were responsive to a few questions along the way.

This house and property were exactly what our extended family needed. The property was wonderful - plenty of room for playing outside, a small beach, a fishing dock, and many kayaks and paddle boards. The layout of the house allowed the early birds and night owls to do their things without disturbing any others. The neighborhood was bikable and the community pool was quite nice.

We paid over $7000 for this very underwhelming house. On top of major construction happening next door-a tractor and dump trailer were in our back yard the 1st day & heavy machinery made fishing off our pier futile much of our stay-when fishing was the only recreational activity feasible at the mud hole you are told is water front. It’s so far back an inlet, 5 min on a jet ski gets you to open water suitable to swim in. No watching anyone on the lake from house.
This is the 1st property we’ve ever stayed at without a walk out lower level. This true basement had 3 dungeon bedrooms to share 1 bath & no way to play the ping pong or air hockey w/out seriously disrupting others in the echoey space. The main floor has 1/2 bath. Period. ALL the rest of the bathrooms are on the top floor. 3 full baths for the 4 bedrooms. If you get a bedroom up there, you’ll be good. But anyone else in any other part of the house will feel crapped on. VERY inconvenient for toddlers or elderly.
The actual living space in this home is nowhere near the purported 6000 sqft listed. That’s why they show no pics of front of house. Shows actual size. We arrived and thought maps messed up. Also the owner left a huge camper parked in center of drive. Moved it the last day. No hot tub. Not even a jetted tub. No true master. Add to this, the house was filthy. They offered to have cleaners come in and “reclean”. No thank you with 14 of us crammed into this place. Offered $200 credit, then blocked me! Beware!

This is a nice property and well suited for a large group. It had everything we needed. Just keep in mind that the water access is not great from the yard because the lake is low but you can kayak or paddle board from the property, launch a boat from the neighborhood ramp, or go to the neighborhood beach area. The owners were very responsive and helpful!

Wonderful time with family. All enjoyed the boats, the bumper pool table, and the outdoor chairs. We liked the privacy and the kitchen had everything we needed.
If there was a drawback, the water level went down after a few days and it was very muddy but we did go to the local beach for a cleaner swim.
One comment was that cotton sheets would have been better than the microfiber ones provided. Overall, we were happy with the home.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in Karleen’s beautiful home. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need. The bathrooms had plenty of supplies for everyone. There is a dining room table big enough for our family of 11. And a dedicated puzzle table!! The 4 kids (3-12) loved the downstairs bunk room/TV/game area. And they had a ball on the water transporting the adults on their peddle boat/kayak train ferry. 😆 The fishing (who caught the biggest sunny?) was great and the water temp was perfect for Grandma. (me!) to float for hours while the kids splashed around. The house and grounds are huge and in excellent condition. The beds are soft and cushy (LOVE those Tempurpedic toppers!) plenty of pillows to go around. I can’t think of one single thing that is lacking here. Karleen was super responsive when we couldn’t figure out why the outside outlets didn’t work (simple GFCI reset). I highly recommend this property for your next vacation.

Exactly as advertised. Quiet, private, well-equipped in the kitchen, basement, and outdoors. We paddle-boated and kayaked. We swan in the lake and at the community pool. We really appreciated all the life jackets. We enjoyed the four hammocks and the fire pit. We saw a doe and her two fawns nearly every day. The kids loved catching fish off the pier and playing with the many lizards they found.

We stayed here for our annual “cousin camp”. Our kids loved the kayaks and SUP available and there were enough that everyone who wanted to join in could. The water at the end of the dock is more “pond”-like, but paddling out to deeper water to swim was not too far. The community pool was a great place to refresh and the tennis courts are VERY nice. Food Lion has a great selection of groceries but if you need anything more than that, the nearest big stores are about a 45 minute drive. The house is perfect for entertaining kids-lots of games with a bright and open layout. Noise/footsteps from the main floor carries to the basement easily, so I would recommend putting night owls or sound sleepers down there. Overall a great spot to vacation and Karlene was very responsive and helpful!

Family gathering, ages 4 to 80! Celebrating 80 th birthday and other milestones. Lovely home well equipped to meet our needs for socializing and recreation. Enjoyed both sunny and rainy days! Owner very responsive to questions especially about internet which was needed for virtual work needs during our stay!

The property was beautiful and private. Perfect for kids 8-15 to safely play in the lake and not have to worry about passing boats. Also, plenty to do in the house for the kids if it's raining. The house was clean, had enough room for 17 people to sread out, and check in process was easy.

We were a group of 4 families, all with young kids under the age of 6 -- and this house was pretty perfect for us. The pictures don't quite do the space justice. The backyard is enormous, with fun little sections that kept the kids entertained and the adults relaxed. Dock for fishing, easy little boat launch for the paddleboat, little beach for sand castles and wading, play-set, playhouse & sandbox, fire pit, kayaks, and the oh-so-popular hammocks. It really was fantastic. The house was pretty great too -- brand new kitchen, and a huge table for dining. Big beds and good space in the bedrooms. All of the photos match reality. If I had to be nit-picky I'd say the house could stand a deep cleaning, and while the linens were included (always appreciated) they weren't actually on the beds when we arrived -- it would be nice if that was already done before we arrived. Otherwise, can't complain! Check in and check out was easy, communication with the hosts was fantastic, and the house was by far one of our favorites spots thus far. We'd love to come back and make this stay a yearly tradition!

our family rented a wonderful house for the long weekend. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the house, the seven bedrooms, the fit foosball. Air hockey and all the outdoor amenities for children including swings that slide beach area and children’s Playhouse. In addition, this house was equipped with several kayaks, paddle boards, and a paddle boat that was enjoyed. Thank you for having your house set up for families like ours! We had a wonderful weekend!
Communication with the host was excellent, & we look forward to renting again!

This was an amazing house. The property is well equipped and fairly secluded for a quiet getaway. Our family had a great time.

The house was nice and very spacious. It had activities for all ages. Everything that you needed was there. It was clean. My family loved the board games and the beds. Over all I’m pretty sure we will be back again.

We enjoyed a very nice Thanksgiving week at this property. The rooms were spacious and kitchen was fully stocked with all cooking essentials. The property manager was very responsive, from prior to booking, through the entirety of our stay. Kids and adults had plenty to do from kayaking, fishing , fire pit, foosball, ping pong.
For the owner, the gas fireplace would not light and the dryer did not dry properly (took 3 cycles). A deep clean (carpets, baseboards, curtains, outdoor power wash) would be in order and was the only thing from preventing a 5 star review. Would stay here again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for our annual couple’s getaway. The location was perfect and the house was beautiful. The house was very clean and comfortable. It felt like a home away from home. The house included everything we needed to relax and disconnect. The host responded when needed and was very welcoming.

Our family had a wonderful time relaxing with nice nice views and quiet cove. Spacious house with large dining table for family dinners, and family room/kitchen combo. Plenty of activities indoors and outdoors including kayaks, swing set, horseshoes and firepit. We had a 3 hour power outage and the grandkids were still having a blast. Owner is very responsive to all inquiries.

Fantastic place to enjoy the weekend with family and friends. Plenty onsite for the kids to entertain themselves and the adults to relax.

This location was perfect for our four Families to come together for a wonderful weekend at Lake Anna. We all enjoyed ourselves! The house had everything we needed!! Definitely enjoyed ourselves and did not want to leave! We will definitely look into coming back!! Thank you to the wonderful Host!!

Karlene's house was wonderful! It was clean, nicely decorated and the kitchen was well equipped. While there we kayaked, used the peddle boat, fished, visited a brewery, went out to dinner and just relaxed. The dogs thought that they were in heaven! Everyone had a wonderful time. We hope to come back!!

We really enjoyed this property, the bedrooms were spacious and had very comfortable beds. Everything in the kitchen was labeled making it easy to find what we needed. Lots of games and activities indoors and we loved taking out the kayaks on the lake. The lake is a little ‘marshy’ by the dock so bring bug spray as you will need it! It’s in a very nice private finger of the lake, so it’s very quiet, we even saw deer in the yard. It has everything you could need and we had a blast!
4.8
We had a great time, kids enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boats, and the pool. The house was great but I must say the beds we horrible. Not good for bad backs and older people. And the grass should have been cut but we survived. Otherwise thank you for sharing your home. We did everything you asked before leaving. Again thank you.
4.8
Everything from the location to the amenities was exactly what we wanted. The geach area was perfect for sunbathing and letting the Littles play, and and the dock, kayaks, and paddleboards were perfect for the teens. We adults enjoyed the porch immensely. We even got a boat one day, which was a blast, and the pool was a nice change of pace. The washer and dryer helped manage wet towels and gear. Nothing took away from our trip at all. The game room, poker table, and play set area all provided additional entertainment, whereas the hammocks were excellent for reading (or napping).
One small thing I would mention is that a few boards on the back stairs down to the lake were quite soft and could definitely stand to be replaced.

This was a great home for our family reunion. It is very spacious with a lot of open area. The layout is very conducive to having more than one family with different age kids (for example, the family with older kids stayed in the basement rooms so they could enjoy the large TV and air hockey/ping pong late into the night. Being on the lake was a highlight, and the huge inventory of watercraft and life jackets enabled everyone to be on the lake at the same time. One thing to keep in mind if you visit during the summer - the lake water is warm and not very refreshing. Luckily you also get access to the community swimming pool. We also loved the fire pit for cooking s'mores. There is a marina about 20 minutes away where we rented a pontoon boat for the day. There is a Dollar store about 5 minutes away for buying essentials and a Food Lion about 10-15 minutes away for all your needs. We would recommend this home!

We usually go to Sandbridge in Virginia Beach. This was our first time at a lake. Everyone had a great time, the adults and all the grandkids from the 1 year old to the 18 1/2 year old. They had the paddle boards and kayaks out everyday, and the itty-bitties played on the sandy beach with the water table we brought. There's lots of room. games for the inside when we had an occasional thunder shower.
We were there during a heat wave and the water was very warm. Those who paddled out of sight found cooler water around the bend. Our three year old grandson caught 4 fish and was super excited about that! He spent a lot of time trying to catch them in his hands while playing in the water at the beach's edge.
What our adult children loved about the stay was the fact that it wasn't "people-y"! A word we use for "too crowded". We even had a couple of kayakers ask if the could go past the house while we were out at the beach, told them "sure, we'll see you back here in a minute because you'll be turning around in a water cul-de-sac.
It's very private, quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay very much!

We had a wonderful time at Karlene's lake house! It is nicely appointed and has plenty of room for everyone. There is tons of stuff to do on the water, property, and in the house. The community center is great too with a nice pool.
Karlene was super-helpful throughout our stay (and after, helping us get an important item we had left behind). Great host!

4th of July Weekend Stay
The house was very spacious and great for our group. Large, clean, had everything we needed, and was a very fun and enjoyable weekend!

Great house - but the "deep water dock" is barely 2' deep
This house had plenty of bedrooms and beds for our 8 adults and 10 children. The game room was fun for everyone. The fire pit was good for making s'mores. This house has many conveniences. The nearby swimming pool and tennis court were a plus.
However, there were a few problems that made a glitch to an otherwise perfect vacation:
* The owner should not advertise this property as having a deep water dock as the water level is barely 2 feet deep. It was extremely difficult to get our rental boat in and out without getting stuck in the sand/mud or the lily pads. The boat rental company said they would not rent a boat to that property again. On the other hand, it is ideal for kayaking and paddle boarding.
* There is an extremely long no-wake zone from the dock to Elk Creek. Fortunately, once you eventually get there the channel is deep and you can have a lot of fun pulling a tube.
* We are not fans of the "NEW Deluxe Memory foam" on the beds. The 4-inch foam pads added on top of the mattresses made it extremely difficult to move in the bed. We wish we could have done without.
* The owner needs to provide instructions on how to use the exclusively wifi-controlled thermostats. They seemed to be preset and the clock settings were off by many hours. In the middle of the night it switched automatically to 50°!
* The bumper pool table was missing some pool balls and had only one cue stick. When this was reported to the owner she said a cue stick was on order and to share the one (I guess she didn't know that you need two sticks to do the beginning break shot!)
Despite these inconveniences, this is a splendid house if you are interested in the warm side of the lake and have only a small boat.

Fabulous family reunion!
We are a family of 17, ranging in ages from 3-71. All agreed this house was even better than depicted and all want to return again. The amenities alone made this a fantastic stay, including paddleboards, kayaks and pedal boat, with life jackets for all, hammocks, fire pit, beach-the list goes on! The home had room for us to all gather and also to spread out. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes and cooking supplies, pots and pans, even skewers for roasting marshmallows. One note, the stairs are a bit steep for those with mobility issues. The bedrooms were perfect, and mattresses comfortable. Indoor games like ping pong, foosball and air hockey kept the kids happy, and there are also board games and video games- something for everyone. We are hoping to return again next year.

This house is great for large groups of friends family. There are beds for everybody, plus additional space on couches etc. if you need that (we didn't). They had everything needed for cooking/grilling, and plenty of outdoor entertainment (kyaks/paddle boat). WIll definietly consider staying again in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was decently clean and worked out perfectly for our large family. We loved the beach area and private dock and hammocks. Plenty of fluffy towels were available.
A few issues that prevented a 5 star review but over all i would recommend staying here!
1. Propane for gas grill was empty
2. Funky odor that came and went in basement and 1 upstairs bathroom, seemed like perhaps a septic system issue. Wasnt terrible, but noticeable
3. Yard looked like it had not been mowed in weeks, with weeds knee high and thigh high in places. We were picking ticks off of our kids and ourselves all week and I think proper maintenance of the lawn would have been at least somewhat effective in minimizing that. We did speak to the owner about it and she gave a $100 refund (appreciated!) But said it was due to rain that the grass could not be cut. It did rain almost our entire stay but there were at least 4 dry days prior to our arrival. We felt like the yard should/could have been mowed before our arrival. The neighbors yards were all mowed and we saw many of them mowing during our stay.
4. Found half empty beer cans behind night stand in one bedroom upon arrival
Despite these issues I would book this house again and hope for better weather
