I was blown away by how perfect this place was! The views and peaceful setting just minutes from the city life of Asheville was exactly what I was looking for on this vacation. Honestly, the pictures don't do this place justice! Melissa's attention to detail in the interior design was wonderful and created a retreat like setting. We spent more time here than anticipated looking out the large picture window at the mists on the mountains every morning. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well appointed, Melissa was quick to communicate and the self check in was a breeze. You won't regret staying here.

This mountain cabin was beautifully appointed with one-of-a-kind furnishings, comfortable bedding, welcoming front porch, stunning landscaping, and outstanding mountain view. We sat on the porch every chance we could, soaking up the peace and quiet of the cabin's environment. The drive up to the cabin was a little challenging at first, but became a piece of cake after the initial ascent. Any questions we had were answered promptly and clearly. We will return!!!

This place was SO cute, i honestly wish we had spent more time hanging out at the house. Walking out the front door, you feel like you're way up on a mountain. Very quiet on a dead end street with your own driveway. Heading out to Asheville was only a few miles away. Everything is close and convenient. The owner communicated very quickly and supplied the house with everything you could think of. If we go back to Asheville, we will definitely stay here again!

Three of us were on a weekend trip to explore the area. The cottage is located just outside of town in the hills surrounding Asheville. With its central location, we were easily able to visit the Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock, Hendersonville, and Brevard over the weekend. The cottage was immaculate with everything we needed. Great decor and a nice view from the porch where we enjoyed our morning coffee and an evening beverage. We highly recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a 2 bedroom rental that's outside the city, but still close to everything.

Great cabin. Close enough to downtown, yet out just a little bit. Stayed to go see Biltmore House, highly recommend for up to 4 people.

We had an absolute wonderful stay at this property! The photos do not do it justice - it is truly a beautiful spot. The view was gorgeous in the fall, the property is so quiet and peaceful, and we had everything we needed. The owner communicated clearly regarding check in and such, and cleanliness was top notch! It was nice to feel as though you're far out and secluded while still being on 10-15 minutes from town. I would absolutely stay here again!

I spent 3 wonderful nights at this cottage while in Western NC to explore the Blue Ridge Parkway. I initially reserved it for 2 nights, but as soon as I walked in the door and looked around, I sent a message to the host requesting a 3rd night!
During my stay, I had plenty of time to notice and be amazed by the fact that absolutely nothing in this cottage is out of place…from the rough interior trim to the beautiful wood floors, from the rustic lanterns to the handmade furniture and doors, everything has been lovingly chosen to fit the space.
The cottage was also spotless, and the sparsely populated neighborhood where it’s located is extremely quiet…I slept with the windows open and heard nothing at night other than crickets chirping.
Finally, Melissa was very quick to respond to my question about adding another night, and very accommodating when I had to change my initial reservations due to an injury.
Needless to say, next time I’m planning an overnight visit to Asheville, I’ll check this cottage first to see if it’s available.

We were visiting Biltmore for our anniversary weekend and were looking for something outside of town. The house was super cute and not that far from “civilization.” It had everything we needed and was decorated in a very rustic style. Cute, cute set up and landscaping.

We came up for our anniversary, and we couldn't have been happier with the property and the location! It was extremely close to downtown Asheville, and it made ordering food, going to restaurants, or going anywhere so easy!
The house was super clean, and we were able to take short walks around the beautiful landscaping:)
The only thing I would suggest would be for there to be more pillows with body and filler (i.e. shredded foam, faux feather, etc), as the thin pillows don't provide much support, but this is a personal preference, and I could just bring my own if I wanted to!
Overall, I would absolutely stay at this property again, and I will recommend to ANYONE coming to Asheville!!

The mountain view is better than the photo's show, the natural wood work in the cabin is awesome. Morning coffee on the porch with mountain view is very relaxing.
Access to BR Parkway is great, you can head north or south on parkway to great areas with views and hiking.
The landscaping and grounds around cabin is cool too.
The fist section of access road is a bit rugged, but there is plenty of room for parking.
I expect we may stay here again if available on next trip to the area.

We had the best weekend hiking and touring Asheville and checking out breweries. The property was better than the pictures and fun stuff for the kids to explore. It was just right with the layout as we had a bedroom, my 5 yo daughter had her own room, and we could set the pack and play with the baby in the office nook. We loved the fairy garden and the squash growing in the side yard. We also loved our bear guests in the field by the driveway! Wonderful experience and wonderful property we would love to visit again and again.

We loved the cute, cozy cabin! The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with basic-needs items. The property manger was very responsive with our questions and needs. The house is tucked away off of a cute mountain road and was very peaceful and quiet but also very close to downtown.

The pictures don’t do justice to this property. Not only it is conveniently located to best hiking and downtown Asheville, the property and grounds show so much love and craftsmanship that it really made our visit to the area that much more enjoyable!!!

What a quaint property. Beautifully updated and well maintained. Close enough to the bustling city of Asheville and far enough away from the city to enjoy quiet evenings watching the sunset over the mountains. Host answered my questions quickly and was very accommodating.

This place was very private, quiet and had everything we needed. The Cabin was well stocked, very clean, has a washer and dryer, easy parking and a BEAUTIFUL setting to sit on the porch!!! Not far from dining and a great grocery store, Ingles Market. A very short drive to all Asheville offers. When we return to the area we WILL stay here again!!!

The cottage is charming with many old-fashion touches but still maintaining modern day amenities. There’s a charming from porch with a red rocking chair and other comfortable seating options. It’s a wonderful place to sit and enjoy morning coffee as you watch the sunrise over the mountains. The barn door leading to the home office is beautiful and contents of the room provide a glimpse into the history of North Carolina.
The cottage was spotless. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. The bathroom and bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. We also enjoyed the luxury of having a washer/dryer combo available. No need to worry about doing laundry when your trip is over.
We loved all aspects of the cottage and will return in the near future.

I rented this cabin for a long overdue visit with my family. The pics on VRBO were nice, but in my opinion, it doesn’t give you just HOW lovely this cabin really is!!! Beyond gorgeous. It was private, clean and so cozy. The woodwork and decor were absolutely beautiful. Perfect mountain view. From the welcoming front walk to the door, you won’t be disappointed when you walk in. Perfect attention to every detail we could need. I highly recommend this hidden jewel nestled in the hills. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

We enjoyed our stay at Melissa’s cottage. Quaint well remodeled home in a beautiful setting. Having stayed in many VRBO’s, directions for the TV, upgrade on towels (seemed like owners old towels)and maybe Kleenex and some laundry detergent since there is a nice washer and dryer. Overall though, very nice experience.

My husband and I found Sunset Ridge as a last minute getaway for our 11 year anniversary. We cannot say enough good things about the cottage! The pictures do not do it justice! Communication with Melissa, the host, was great. She was very quick to respond. Check-in was a breeze. The cottage was extremely clean and was so beautiful inside and out. No detail was missed! Everyday we noticed new details in the decor and design of the house that were so unique and beautiful. You could tell the owners really take pride in the cottage.
We enjoyed looking through the photo album of the renovations as well, and what it looked like before. We loved sitting on the front porch drinking coffee in the mornings, and even ate dinner outside one evening. The location was close to downtown and a perfect hub for us to travel up the parkway for hiking each day. We would definitely recommend Sunset Ridge as a place to stay, and hope to stay again the next time we are in Asheville!

This cottage is absolutely beautiful and exceeded expectations! It was perfect for our family of 4 for the week- had everything we needed and was immaculately clean. Check in and check out was super easy and the host was great with communication, responding super fast to any questions. Location is great- beautiful view from the front porch while drinking your morning coffee, extremely quiet and tucked away but only a 10- 15 minute drive to lots of fun Asheville activities. Also easy access to grocery store, great restaurants and the Blue Ridge Parkway. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

Best mountain trip
We had a very easy check in and check out process. The home was decorated very warming and comfortable. My two kids (7 &5) had an awesome time playing in the yard, seeing wild turkeys, rabbits and learning how to catch fierflys. The house was located great to different daily outings I had planned. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

Wonderful North Carolina Cabin
This was our second stay, with more to come, and it was just as great as the first visit. Everything is well maintained; the cabin is very homey. The new patio on the ridge behind the cabin added a whole new vibe to sunsets! It is very convenient but still has that private feeling.

Cabin
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we had a lovely time. The convenience of the cabin being 15-20ish minutes from downtown Asheville was great and there’s plenty to do in the area. Melissa was great and had simple instructions. We were not disappointed in the least on our honeymoon. We highly recommend this cabin if you want to be far enough away from the city with peace and quiet but also close enough to go enjoy nice restaurants and shops. 10/10
