Our oldest daughter attends OU in Athens. This is her 3rd year and we wanted to celebrate family weekend a little different. We had so much fun! The cabin had everything we needed for entertainment. With 3 girls in the house, a mirror in the upstairs half bath would have been great! Beautiful property! Thank you for sharing with us!

Perfect spot for a quick quiet get away. Close to a small town for basics while still be secluded and private. Owners were available when needed and responded quickly to any communication.

The property was beautiful and just what we were looking for. The cabin was very accommodating to any needs you may have. We’ll definitely be back to stay there again.

Not as advertised. Game room was all busted with no heat. Fireplace would not light. I sent message and mgmt sent me a pic saying "see it works." I tried for several hours. Would not light. I called 4 days before check in after reading reviews about broken hot tub. I was assured by Sarah that it was fixed. It was not. Mold in jets of bathroom jacuzzi tub. Furniture was yard sale quality at best. Mattresses broken down and sank in middle. Couch had sheet of plywood under cushion because springs were gone. Dining room chairs springs popping out the bottom and falling through in center. Dust bunnies on floor around kitchens cabinets size of guinea pig. I took pics of everything. They do not match whats on this site as for what you are paying for. Front door had been kicked in and door jam split and busted and not repaired. Could be a beautiful rental. This place has been mismanaged and neglected. Renters Beware.

The Rusty Lantern was all we imagined it to be. The property held up to its expectations. The game room was one of the best features of this property. My friends and I had a great time playing pool, cornhole, board games and much more. The property was very quiet and private. Overall we all had a great time and wish our stay was longer!

The cabin was very nice and quaint. There were a few small things that need some attention. The listing claims washed and dryer are included, though they are in a locked room. The water in the hot tub was very cloudy when we checked in, thus we decided to not utilize it. The water was clearer this morning when we checked out. I’m guessing the water hadn’t settled from treatment prior to our arrival. The upstairs light switch also has a short that needs addressed.

We had a great trip and the cabin was beautiful. I was super disappointed with the hot tub situation. It was hot, but no bubbles. I had made an inquiry prior to check in from a previous review. And I was told they were working on it. But obviously that never happened. Other than that, the property was amazing and would rent it again as long as the hot tub is fixed.

Nice get away for the husband and I. We wanted the hot tub but it was not working. The rental office tried to assist with getting it working through text but it was like sitting in a hot bathtub no bubbles. The previous lodgers stated in the house book the same thing about the hot tub and the rental office acted like they did not know and did not say anything to us about it. That was very disappointing and did not offer any sort of compensation for that and that was one of the reasons that we chose that home. The house was nice. Loved the fire place. Just did not like being played on the hot tub when they already knew. Would go again if were ensured the hot tub was working properly.

The inside was clean and beautiful. The outside needed some cleaning and upkeep. I swept the deck from the drive way and around to the large deck on the back to clean it up a little. Part (not all) of the road leading to the cabin needs some work. But not sure if you would have any control of that. We had perfect weather for a fire outside with lots of fun and laughter. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend get away.

Very clean and as expected. Would have been easier to find with a sign at driveway entrance.

We live outside of Pittsburgh and our daughter goes to school in Lexington, KY. This location was the mid-point for us to meet for the Easter weekend. We chose this place for the location, privacy and Hot tub. Overall, we had a wonderful time and liked the space in the cabin. There was plenty of room for 6 of us, had enough supplies for us to cook an easter dinner, and had a wonderful fire pit for all of us to sit around in the evenings. Our only complaint is that the hot tub didn't work. The temperature said 104 degrees, but I don't think it was 90 degrees. The water was cloudy and had a bad odor. Not to mention that the hot tub cover needed to be replaced a long time ago. We called (3) times to see if it could be looked at and no one ever showed up. We never used it during our stay. We still had a wonderful time, but for this trip, we specifically searched for properties that had a hot tub. I don't think this hot tub has functioned properly in a very long time and it is used to get more looks by people searching for for certain property anemities.

We had a wonderful girlfriend weekend. The Cabin is well equipped. The location is very private and it is just a few minutes into Logan or Hocking Hills State Park. We enjoyed the hot tub and the game room. If you have any questions or concerns the rental agency responds very quickly. We would stay here again.

Nice, clean property with comfortable couches and beds. Most things worked well, the exception being the hot tub and jet tub. The instructions stated there were different modes but didn't elaborate. The hot tub used abbreviations, none of which we could make sense of. Maybe if you're familiar with them it wouldn't seem an issue but we aren't. Same thing with the jet tub.
Nice property and good trails, but for the money it didn't meet expectations.

Very clean well stocked cabin! Central location to both Logan and Nelsonville and about 10-15 minutes away from the Hocking Hills hiking trails! Owners were very quick to respond to questions and great to work with!

Beautiful Cabin, well thought out. I’d put in a little brighter LED bulbs and hang a sign out by street to make drive easier to find. Overall though great place and will be back.

This is a great cabin for a remote weekend. The driveway was a bit steeper than expected, but manageable even with pretty low clearance cars. Staff was helpful and the house was clean. Would definitely recommend a stay.

Weekend get away
Just stayed for a few days to get away and it was perfect. Very private and felt like we were in a remote location even though we were close to restaurants n such. Loved the covered back deck with the hot tub and dining table. Would definitely stay again!!

Nice but...
The property was nice and had all the amenities needed like dishes, silverware, towels etc but the cabin was very poorly cleaned. The fans in the bedrooms had so much dust on them that when they were turned on it scattered dirt and dusty bunnies all over the bed. The dishes in the cabniet were also very visibly dirty. The game room was the main reason we picked this particular cabin. My kids were really excited about the game room but we quickly discovered the foosball table and other games were on the verge on falling apart.

Great Cabin and Service
The cabin was very clean and had an extra bed we didn’t understand from the post, so that was nice! There are 4 beds, one in the loft and 3 in bedrooms. The place was very clean. The hot tub control was not working properly, but the service person came right out and fixed it! Also, we forgot a lighter and he brought one too! So nice. The rec room was fun for the kiddos. We did bring a fire stick thank goodness because there was no ESPN on the cable provided. The TV upstairs was missing a power cord for the cable box, so we were not able to use that TV. Overall, we would stay there again. It was a great, clean place and the people running it were easy to work with!

Rusty Lantern
This property is beautiful, and we felt very much at home here. For the most part the cabin was very clean. We did find a used wash cloth hanging on the inside of the shower curtain and someone's clothes hanging on the door of one of the bedrooms. The cleaning crew could do just a little bit better job, that's why I didn't give that part a 5. The kitchen was equipped with all dishes needed to cook a meal, if that is what you want to do. The grill that is outside is a little to be desired, we needed to go purchase something to put on top of the grate, it had broken wires on the grate. We didn't use the game room in the basement, but it looked clean and very fun. The bedrooms were nice, the room we stayed in, the bed and pillows were very soft. We like a little more firm mattress, but that's just what we like. The upstairs rooms were also very nice looking, we didn't use these either. The hot tub was amazing after our daily hiking adventures. In all, we had a very relaxing vacation and the cabin was really beautiful!
