It seems like this place is/was loved, but maybe the owner hasn’t been around for awhile. Outside there were old rugs covered with debris, wet cushions just thrown around, and it felt like nobody had been there to care for the property. There was an odd smell. The bathrooms and kitchen were really clean, but the place could use a good deep cleaning. We initially couldn’t get in with the code, but the owner answered right away, and she was very nice and gave us another option. If you are picky/particular, skip this rental. If you are super laid back, this place is perfect for you. Our family wouldn’t stay here again. On the map is shows the wrong location. It’s not next to Camp Laney, but it’s super close to Alpine.

Beautiful home and beautiful area. Very rustic. I didn’t have any hand soap in the bathroom I was using but that was no biggie; I just grabbed the soap from one of the other bathrooms. The cleaning fee was a little high but still a beautiful place to stay.

There were rat pellets on the counter, the house hadn’t been cleaned. All the towels, sheets, and comforters were piled on the floor. The house smelled of moth balls. The owner refused to take responsibility for the situation even though she knew that morning we were arriving that afternoon and blamed me for renting from a website she subscribed too. We asked for a refund and they were completely non responsive.

The house was perfect and very cool design. . A little hard to find at night. The road splits and we hadn’t been told that, or which way to go. Keep left at the fork in gravel road.

My husband and I rented this cabin in the woods for a weekend trip and we loved it! The cabin itself is beautiful and uniquely decorated with creative and fun art designs in every room! Beautiful large windows allow plenty of light into each room. It’s the perfect location in a quiet and peaceful spot surrounded by trees and nature. It was the perfect place to unplug and enjoy each other’s company! We also got out and explored Mentone and visited local shops and restaurants. Everything is close by the cabin and we enjoyed going to see the waterfalls nearby! The Wi-Fi was a little spotty in the cabin for us as well as in most of the town. Only place we seemed to have the best Wi-Fi was at the Cafe, but it didn’t bother us because we came to unplug and explore for the trip! The master bedroom does not have curtains, so if you prefer a dark room in the morning then I suggest buying the disposable paper blackout curtains from Amazon or something similar. It didn’t bother us because we were up early each morning and enjoyed the natural light. This cabin is truly a special gem and the host was superb and had wonderful communication with us! Mentone is beautiful and a lovely place to visit!! Make sure to watch the sunset at Brow’s Park if you visit!!! It’s stunning! Beautiful cabin and we had a great time, we will be back! :)

My husband and I really enjoyed our getaway to Mentone. The house is just gorgeous and decorated beautifully! I love all the eclectic deco and art! The privacy was great! We did get lost on the way to the house but we called Eddie Sue and she helped us get there. We plan to visit in the future.

The property was perfect. Coming home for a funeral is never easy. However the ease of this process was great. It helped make this difficult process and time bearable. Everything was perfectly setup and all bases covered. It allowed us to focus on the reason we came. Thank you Honestly five stars isn’t enough

The cabin itself is very nice, it is very rural . Wifi was iffy, no hot tub or jacuzzi tub and bed linens blood stained

We enjoyed every minute of our stay! It was so close to Desoto Falls and Little River Canyon. Very convenient. It was very solitary and our dogs enjoyed the stay as well. Eddie Sue was very helpful and was quick at responding to any questions we had. Only thing I could recommend is some blinds in the master bedroom. I know this home is a new build, everything happens a little at a time in a new house. There were ticks I think may have been in the back yard, which can easily happen with all the rain. We got a few but we caught them early. Thank you Eddie Sue! We look forward to coming back and visiting again.

The cabin was in a great location and was quite cozy. I will definitely stay in the cabin if it is available during my next trip.

We enjoyed our stay at the Love Shack! We had to turn around a couple of times to find it as we arrived at night and it’s quite secluded. Once we found it we did appreciate the privacy. I’m not sure if the owners live there part time but we found it strange that there were clothes in the closet and items in the dryer. There was also a used towel in the bathroom. Overall, it was pretty clean but it could use some improvement. The sheets were stained in places. We loved the eclectic vibe and the beautiful views. Also, the home is very dog friendly with bowls and two dog beds and even treats! Our two pups appreciated those little extras!

Perfect house for a getaway. Just wish we had internet/wifi available so that we could watch the Macy Day Parade and football on Thanksgiving. It was easy to communicate the EddieSue and she was quick to respond when needed.

Wonderful Getaway!
The house is magical! Everything was clean and comfortable! We loved being away from everything for a while! Felt like we were staying in an exquisite treehouse! Not far are wonderful restaurants, hiking, waterfalls, and art shops and the Howard Finster Museum! We played all day and came home to the beauty and tranquility of the Love Shack! I would highly recommend this property to anyone that wants to just relax and enjoy nature! Our host was welcoming and available if we needed her!

Magical cabin and location
Charming! Love Shack was a fantastic escape from reality! The cabin is adorable with unique finishes and fun colorful artwork. The vaulted ceilings and large windows in the master bedroom surrounded by the green foliage made me feel as if I was waking up in a treehouse. The kitchen finishes are beautiful and woodwork on the kitchen ceiling is to die for. The owner has made her place very cheerful with lots of vintage charm. We loved sitting on the back porch and enjoying the cool mountain air. The cabin is in such a great location right by Alpine Camp for boys!
The owner Eddie Sue is a delight and we really enjoyed communicating with her - I wish we had been able to meet her in person! We loved our weekend in her beautiful home!

Nice house and a great location but
It was a great house right where we needed it for our work location. The house is a new build and not completed. Communication with the owner was great and they let us check in early. We were told to leave trash by the road but there was no where to leave it by the road so I took it home. Clothes were in the washing machine when we got there. I feel like it was a little over priced and buying insurance was mandatory on a non finished house. Can I get a discount?

Love Shack
The home was not quite ready for guests, but the owner made that clear and we went anyway. The house is absolutely adorable and all the beds slept very comfortably. This home is a new build so everything worked top notch. The home was warm and we enjoyed the fireplace. Nicely located close to Desoto State Park where we hiked and saw friends. I recommend and hope to be back soon!
