What a pretty "cabin"! It had everything we could possibly need and thoughtful touches we really appreciated. Loved the location of 40 minutes to Biltmore, middle of Smokies, 10 minites to Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smokey Mountains National Park, and drive to Dollywood etc. Perfect!

This was such an amazing place to hide away and spend some quality time with each other for our 18th anniversary. This cabin was so cozy, provided comfortable furnishings, and was in the most beautiful location. There wasn't anything more we could have asked for and we will definitely return again on another trip up to the mountains.
We got a little turned around on our way up the first day getting there. The hosts answered our call right away and walked us through our mistaken turn. This place definitely deserves its 5 star rating!

We rent a cabin in the Maggie Valley area 2 or 3 times a year and I can say this cabin was amazing! In fact, we rated it in our top 5 overall favorite cabins since we started coming up in 2015! There are so many great things about this cabin. We really enjoyed the privacy and view. We really found it relaxing without all the noise and distractions. We also really appreciated that they emptied and cleaned the hot tub right before we got there. Really the entire cabin was extremely clean. I’d really like to comment on whether the host was helpful but I don’t know because everything was so well set up that I never contacted them! We will definitely be booking this cabin again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hootie Owl House! We spent a week hiking around, exploring the area with our dogs and kids. The cabin had everything we needed. There is a great fireplace, and the reclining couches in the great room are very comfy. We enjoyed rocking on the porch watching the sun set over the mountains. The drive to the cabin was not difficult in summer. We had a AWD minivan that had no trouble getting there. All in all, we had a wonderful stay! Hope to be back!

It's always good to get away to the mountains. This was a nice place to forget the cares of the world for a week.

This is our second year in a row staying at this fantastic log cabin. Everything in the description is accurate. Gail and Chris were a pleasure to work with. They responded to our emails within minutes! The cabin is super clean and well stocked. We'll be back again since it's the best cabin in Maggie Valley.

The cabin is beautifully situated and just as described. Well appointed with very little left to chance! The homeowner was available for any and all questions. We truly enjoyed our stay. As with other reviews, the drive up to the cabin is not for the faint of heart, but once we did it a couple of times we were fine! Very restful and peaceful with stunning views.

We had a wonderful stay at the hootie owl. The property was clean, comfortable, and had the most amazing views. We really enjoyed relaxing on the porch in the rockers and hot tub. There was ample firewood for the cool evenings and everything we needed to cook a nice quiet meal at home. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful week at this cabin. There was plenty of room for two adults and two teenagers and we had pretty much everything we would need upon checking in. The check-in process was super simple as was the checkout process. We would definitely stay in this cabin again.

We had a fabulous time at the Hootie Owl House. The views were spectacular and the property was exactly as advertised. Very clean, no bugs, everything worked. We would definitely book again if visiting the area in the future.

We had a great stay. The house was great. Getting there was a bit intimidating due to steep narrow road but overall a nice place.

The cabin is beautiful and true to what is pictured. It was private and quiet, and the view did not disappoint. Gail was easily accessible and quick to respond. It's a terrific location, too. There are lots of options for hiking and scenic drives. It's also close to a variety of places to shop and eat. Would absolutely stay again!

This was a very nice vacation rental. The view was outstanding but the narrow mountain roads heading up to the cabin were dicey for us older Florida flat landers. Luckily, we never met anyone coming the other way! We loved relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine. The hot tub was especially clean and a large bonus for us. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your place.

My family loved staying a week at this cabin. It's a bit of a difficult trek up the side of the hill to get to the cabin but you quickly get used to the drive, and the payoff is the incredible view from the covered porch, looking down the valley. We especially enjoyed waking up early and enjoying a hot drink, sitting on one of the Adirondaks, while watching the misty clouds rolling into the valley and covering the little town of Maggie Valley. The interior was tastefully decorated, and everything was clean and well-maintained. Loved the woodwork; the breakfast countertop was beautiful. The location is ideal for venturing off into the Smokies or heading onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had a really good time staying at this cabin and would love to return one day.

The cabin is simply beautiful and amazing. I literally got home and start looking for dates when I can come back. Looking at the sunsets on the porch was very relaxing. Everything about the cabin was first rate. Thank you Gail. I truly look forward to coming back to Maggie Valley soon.

The cabin was perfect. Nestled high above Maggie Valley with views of the Smoky Mountains, the cabin had everything our family could want in a summer vacation spot. It was immaculately clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen well appointed and comfy couches to lounge on in the evening.

Beautiful home!
We were lucky to find that this house had an open weekend right when we needed it. We had a few questions before we arrived and Gail answered them very quickly. When we arrived the house was very clean and had everything we needed. We cooked almost all of our meals at the house and the only thing we needed to purchase was the food. There were plenty of pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc. The layout was perfect for my husband and I, my mother in law and our 2 kids. They lived having the upstairs loft area all to themselves. The view from the rocking chairs was gorgeous and even better while relaxing in the hot tub. We are already talking about booking our next trip to the Hootie Owl House. Thank you!

Fireworks in the Valley
Hootie Owl House is a beautiful home that was immaculate. The view of Maggie Valley is beautiful, especially looking down on the fireworks on 4th of July. Our family enjoyed the grill, outside dining table, rocking chairs and hot tub on the porch over looking the mountains. Communincation with Gail, the owner, was easy, clear and immediate. We would love to stay again.

Home away from home 🏡
Gail & Chris sincerely shared their home with our family last week. Gail was super quick re: any needed communication. We appreciated their hospitality and greatly enjoyed visiting the area. There is certainly something special about being in the mountains! 🏞️ Until the next time...

Great getaway
The hosts Chris and Gail are excellent hosts. They've always gotten back to us within an hour or less. The property is super clean, nicely decorated and easy to get to. The views from the porch and hot tub are amazing. You have plenty of neighbors, but you cannot see any of them from the house - it's super private. Our only disappoinment was that we had to leave.

Great stay at the Owl House
This property is in a beautiful setting at the top of the mountain overlooking the Maggie Valley. The house was immaculate. You can tell the owners have put a lot of work into making it something really special. We would have loved to have stayed longer but we will be back. Recommend Highly!!!!

Epic views and a beautiful cabin
My family and I stayed for a week at Hootie Owl and loved every minute. The cabin was clean and had every amenity that we needed. The beds were cozy and the internet fast. Teens were happy, dad was happy and me too! Kitchen and grill were great for cooking up whatever meal we needed. The hot tub was a great way to end the day after hiking the mountains. You can even see the valley from the hot tub! The view is beyond gorgeous. Best we've ever seen in the mountains. Maggie Valley is very close to many places and so it was easy to get to the grocery store, eating out, shopping, whatever we wanted to do. Definitely recommend staying here. The owners are quick to respond and answer any questions you might have.

Wonderful Cabin, Perfect Location
The property was perfect for our group of four adults on a ski trip to cateloochee. The property is about 15 minutes from the ski resort, 45 minutes from Asheville, and 45 minutes from the Cherokee casino. The home and view are beautiful and had everything we needed. Do follow the directions given by the owners to locate the home, don't follow gps. Would happily stay again.

Perfect Getaway
We had an amazing time at this cabin! It had the perfect view of Maggie Valley. It was very convenient to town, but still felt tucked away to where you couldn’t see your neighbors. Getting up to the house was a little tough even with our 4runner, but that was also because there was a big winter storm. Definitely not usually the case I’d imagine. It’s a beautiful place that we definitely want to come stay at again.

Great winter getaway
We had a wonderful stay and everything in the house was fantastic. The kitchen was well stocked and the starter supplies (tp, soap, paper towels, etc) were quite generous. Hosts, Chris and Gail, were very communicative and helpful when snow/ice was in the forecast. The beds are super comfy and the hot tub was a wonderful treat after a day on the slopes. The only negative for us was the drive up to the house ... it was far more windy and far more narrow than anticipated (and we've stayed in the mountains many times). You DO get used to it, but I would 100% advise visitors NOT drive it at night and if you're visiting in the winter, be sure you have the right kind of vehicle and driving skills.

Wonderful Long weekend!
The cabin was beautiful! The view was the best we have ever seen from rental! Extremely clean! A 5 Star experience! We will definitely return! Definitely up a steep climb for driving! Bring some pots and pans if you plan on cooking!

Beautiful Cabin and View
We have stayed in many different cabins and they are not all the same. This cabin is at the top of our list of best experiences. Although you will need to be prepared for the drive up, it is well worth it. This cabin has an awesome view of the valley and it is very obvious it is very well taken care of. This was our first stay here, but will not be our last!
