About this apartment rental
One of the oldest homes in Harpers Ferry, newly renovated and freshly decorated with lots of light and private spaces.
Pre Civil War home in Harpers Ferry, just steps away from the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and conveniently located between lower town and upper town. A short walk either way!
Each room is a suite with private bath, luxury linens and toiletries.
Suite 4 is upstairs, large and light filled. The en-suite bathroom is entered through antique doors and is very large and spa - like with pedestal sink and soaking tub, that has a hand shower as well. From there, you enter your own private screened in balcony/porch!
The kitchen / gathering room is shared between 4 suites, as well as the grounds. There is a small bistro table in the front great for chatting with passers by. The backyard is equipped with a pellet grill, outdoor dining table and a great fireplace! Park like landscaping is in the works, to be completed by early fall.
I am in and out, or gardening on a regular basis. Otherwise, you may find me around the corner at our sister property, La Soledad. I am always available by text and phone!
We are in Historic Harpers Ferry right on the Main Street. We are a short walk from lower town and the NHP, as well as uppertown - very centrally located.
Harpers Ferry is a walking town with limited parking. Guests will be provided a parking pass for the property. Wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain is hilly!

Christie gave us a very warm and informative welcome, including interesting history, issues and developments in town, and great recommendations for where to eat and places to visit. She also invited us to her lavender farm and introduced us to her lovely puppies. The room was excellent — lots of space, a screened-in balcony, and great location in the upper town. Christie was helpful with parking, and she always responded quickly to our questions. An outstanding weekend!

My partner and I found the property quiet and comfortable. Our room was cozy and pretty. We loved the screened porch and spent hours chatting and bird watching. We both loved the deep relaxing tub and goodies left for us. Quite thoughtful. All in all, a peaceful and restorative overnight. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed here for an anniversary weekend, our first time in West Virginia. We loved the property and the surrounding area. The downtown of Harpers Ferry was a relatively short walk away (but uphill, so could be challenging for some) and there were also a few good eat and drink spots even closer. The room itself was very private, including a bug-free screened porch and a dream of a bathroom with a soaking bath tub. We didn't move the car much for Harpers Ferry itself, but it was an easy/ right in front of the building parking situation. The host Christy was the cherry on top. Although we didn't need to contact her too much, that was likely because she gave us the lay of the land at the beginning along with a handy guide of local recommendations. We walked to the Appalachain Trail, the Maryland Heights trail, the downtown HF and historical area, the great vegan joint, and more and did the heck out of Harpers Ferry with a perfect room to cap each day. Thank you!

I don't usually leave reviews on stays. This time I feel compelled to leave one. I had to wait 2 hours on the front porch to greet the owner for access. On my second day of a 3 day stay I went downstairs to the common area aka kitchen to wash a few dishes from breakfast. I was greeted by the owner and her cleaning lady. In short, the owner supposedly was told by other guests that they heard a cat meowing. She asked me if I was hiding a cat in the room. I assured her there was no cat. She insisted on inspecting the room even after I insisted there was no cat. She actually had the audacity to come into the room opening closet doors. I am a 55 yo male. I dont get offended easily but this definitely made me feel some sort of way. I did stay one more night to finish my trip, but was very uncomfortable. The house is clean but the backyard needs some tlc. The patio set is on a outdoor rug that is overtaken by moss on a wood deck. Cant eat outside. Fireplace has nice seating.
I stayed across the street 3 weeks ago and noticed how many cats are in the neighborhood. One even attempted to bite my friend. Being accused of harboring a cat in the room is crazy to me especially after greeting us for access.

Perfect place! Loved the decor! Location is great with an easy 12 min walk to downtown. Walk back takes a bit longer since it’s mostly uphill but still a nice walk. So much to see with all the lovely architecture. Will return!

The location is great- wonderful to be able to walk to Lower Town since parking is so limited there. Place has an old world feel - not fancy but with some charm. Because it is old,> sounds of people above and next door carry through, but we didn't find this to be a problem. The breakfasts are great, with generous portions! Lots of nice extra touches, like cookies, coffee and tea and granola bars always available. The hosts were very helpful with suggestions. So much to do in the area - hiking, history, good restaurants like the Press Room in nearby Shepherdstown. Highly recommend!

Cozy, historic, clean, and provided by the most accommodating and hospitable host I've ever met, Trouvaille will be my go to every time I visit Harper's Ferry!
My girlfriend and I were warmly greeted by Christie as we arrived and settled in for our weekend getaway. Christie talked us through the history of the house and some of the nearby structures, gave us pointers for where to go and what to see (including a thoughtful, printed list), and was available to contact if we had any questions. The house is an easy 10-15 minute walk away from lower town. The suite even had homemade lavender bath salts to enjoy a nice soak after a day of hiking (Christie has a lavender farm nearby and makes lovely salts and soaps).
The property includes easy street parking right outside too. After tirelessly searching and comparing the available options for our stay, we're very happy we settled on Christie's Trouvaille House and think you will be too.

We loved the larger auite with private bathroom and balcony. Solid location near several food options and evening entertainment at The Barns plus a very short walk to an Appalachian Trail connector.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for a long weekend trip and we loved it. The space was very clean, beautifully decorated, and has very cool history. The soaking tub was perfect after a long hike, and the balcony was perfect for early mornings. The host was very quick to respond to messages and almost everything is within walking distance! I would recommend staying here.

Christie is an excellent host. Pleasant, warm, and responsive. The photos do not do it justice. The interior is beautiful as well as classy. Take a moment to appreciate all the little special touches. The soaks in the clawfoot tub were divine!

A lovely suite in a charming house located in beautiful Harper’s Ferry, perfectly situated between the “lower” and “upper” parts of town. The host is fantastic—super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place!

This is a lovely place and pleasant hostesses. Great care has been taken to make it attractive and welcoming. The location is away from the density of "downtown" but walkable so it was perfect for us. There is a great bakery (Bolivar Bakery) essentially right next door.
The acoustics are not great, the hallways specifically transmit voices and footsteps. The big problem with room 4 is that you cannot take a standup shower. The tub is deep which is great for soaking but not for stepping in and out. I would not advise this room for anyone with any orthopedic issues.
All that said it was a lovely town and lovely place to rest our heads

Such a beautiful oasis. My husband and I spent a relaxing wonderful three nights. Amazing claw foot tub, lavender bath salts, fantastic coffee / cream and snacks in the suite, gorgeous porch. Wine glasses. Just the perfect place to unwind.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway
This is a centrally located property in Harpers Ferry - its not right in the main historic district but a closer walk to the park and popular trailheads than where the welcome center would want you to park and walk in from. It's also close to restaurants in upper town (make sure to make a reservation for the anvil prior to your trip). Looking at the map, I wondered how centrally located we would really be but after experiencing it it really is the best of both worlds. We walked to town one evening for a ghost tour and white water tubed with River Riders the next day (also a very easy drive from this house). One evening the weather turned and we were pleasantly surprised by the numerous streaming services available for our plab B netflix and chill evening with a Sour sampler pack from Abolitionist Ale Works. Will be back (though in the Fall when its cooler - maybe we'll actually hike ;P)

Loved it!
Awesome suite (#4). Christie May provided a real concierge check in experience! Great location walkable to everything. As noted, the hill is real, but we're pretty active people and we actually enjoyed the climb! Cant wait to go back! -Thanks Christie May!
