With an impressive two story rock fireplace, this rustic Montanan home of almost 3, 500 square feet is comprised of 4 large bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms, a well-appointed kitchen with Thermador appliances, two living rooms, two dining areas, dedicated mud room, heated garage, and front and rear porches to enjoy grilling and outdoor dining and relaxing. Built with the finest materials and finishes, this home has real stone elements and hand-hewn style exterior logs. Just a quick drive across the street, and you at the base of all the incredible terrain at Big Sky Resort.
In the winter, you are less than a 5-minute drive from Big Sky Resort, the proud home of America's biggest skiing. You can also ski out and take the White Otter Lift. This home is not ski-in accessible, but there is not too much walking.
In the summer, enjoy being so close to Town Center events such as the Big Sky Farmers Market and Music in the Mountains Concert Series, along with Big Sky's premier event: the PBR Rodeo.
For those looking to explore the local trails, the trailhead for the "Hummocks" and "Uplands" trails is only a mile from the home, and the infamous, 'Ousel Falls' waterfall hike trailhead is even closer being less than a mile away! These trails are perfect for hiking or mountain biking and are fun for all skill levels! If you are looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy a coffee or ice cream cone, take a seat on the patio at the local grocery store, "Hungry Moose Market and Deli" and soak in the sun while enjoying views of the mountains!
** White Otter opens in mid-December and closes on April 9th. We cannot control the lift schedule for ski access. If you have small children, you may need to shuttle them to the resort as they may not be able to ski the runs.
This central location provides prime access to a multitude of Big Sky's winter activities! If you are looking to downhill ski, take a short ten-minute drive up the hill to Big Sky Resort, home of the "Biggest Skiing in America!" If cross country skiing is more your cup of tea, it's only a 5-minute drive to Lone Mountain Ranch to enjoy over 80 miles of world-class Nordic trails.

This home does not have air conditioning.
Most homes in Big Sky don't, thanks to our typically mild summer temperatures. For a true Montana experience, we recommend our classic "Montana A/C": open the windows at night to let in the cool mountain air, then close them and draw the blinds first thing in the morning to keep the cool air inside throughout the remainder of the day.
Transportation to Big Sky From Bozeman Airport:
In order to experience all that Big Sky has to offer, it is helpful to have access to a vehicle during your stay. This allows you to travel seamlessly throughout the community from the Gallatin River to Lone Peak. While ride-sharing and taxi services are abundant in other communities, Big Sky remains a small town with limited options for transportation. We offer a 5% discount code to Explore Rentals for confirmed guests. They are located minutes away from the Bozeman Airport and provide 4-wheel drive vehicles with dedicated snow tires in the winter and all-season tires in the summer!

The home was beautifully maintained and all the luxuries you would expect were provided. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us and it was a short drive to downtown Big Sky. The views from the back of the house were breathtaking.
The only complaints we as a group had is that there is so much construction around the location of the house and the noise from the road with large construction trucks made it really hard to sleep in or just relax. The temperature in the house is very warm and at times hot. There is no a/c and you rely on the windows opened for cross breezes. But the noise from the road made it worse when the windows were opened. When on vacation, you want comfort and at times, the house location and indoor temperature was uncomfortable. It was hard to rest and sleep in.

House was perfect for our group, had everything and more available to use. Would recommend this property to anyone wanting to have an awesome mountain vacation.

Lovely experience!

The home was beautiful and had plenty of space. Very short walk to ski out, but the uphill climb back was difficult and the bus stops were a bit far to walk with all of our gear. Would definitely bring a car to this house if you intend to ski.

Our Men's ski group stayed here in March. This was our 3rd trip to Big Sky.
PROS:
- wonderful house, large and very comfortable.
- layout was fantastic, heated garage with boot dryer,
- kitchen was spacious and allowed for easy cooking for a large group. Mostly well provisioned, missing a pan, but was addressed by management (more below)
- has to have one of the best views around, at least the best view we have had to date. Lone Mountain right out the window!
- Ski OUT was awesome. down the street to an access trail to White Otter LIft. Ski IN...see CONS
- Beds were very comfortable with great bedding
CONS
- really only one that I can come up with...Ski IN. This is not a ski in location, its a hike to get back to the house, doable, but it was rough. About a half mile after taking a long cat track to the road. Bozeman Trail to Rising Bull to the road, take a left and go for a hike up the road if you want it.
- not really a con, but I need one more point here; no TV in the main living room. We thought this would be a problem, but it actually was really nice as we ended up having more conversation with our group.
Management Company
Two Pines was incredibly responsive...we had two issues throughout our stay: 1) the kitchen was missing a few fry pans and there were only 5 short glasses for drinks we when arrived. 2) our hot tub was not functioning when we arrived. For each call, the management company had the issue resolved within 45 minutes...the first they brought additional kitchen ware and the second a hot tub tech arrived and fixed the hot tub. under 45 minutes....I can't get myself to fix things that fast.
