Our party of seven had a comfortable stay at the cabin. The area was quiet, and close to town. All amenities were provided, so it made for a stress-free stay.

The house was amazing! We had a wonderful time playing games and hanging out. All the rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable! It was a close drive into town and about a 30 min drive to Bear Valley. We will definitely be coming back to the area again!

My wife and I stayed at the cabin over Christmas, along with our young adult children and our dog. The cabin was an easy 25 minute drive to the lodge at Bear Valley Ski Resort. Arnold is a nice mountain town. (Pro-tip: rent your skis from SNAC on your way into town.)
Anyway, the cabin was well equipped. The fireplace was very cozy, as was the bed in the master bedroom. The dishwasher and the stove all worked well. We didn't make use of the deck and the grill, and the hammock was put away for the winter. But I could see how pleasant it would be to relax there in the summer while grilling something. The local grocery store had an impressive local wine selection.
The driveway could accommodate four vehicles, but we only had two. It could get crowded with four vehicles.

This home was a good size for our group- 4 adults and one toddler. The house is cutely decorated and the bathrooms are nice. Perfect location. Our only wish was if there were bath mats for the floor and a nonslip surface to the bathtubs. The patio table on the deck could also use some love - we didn’t end up eating outdoors despite the good weather.

Set in the trees with a daily view of deer and squirrels. Extremely close to multiple places to eat, a market and shops so don't sweat it if you forgot something. You are only a few miles from the Calaveras Big Trees State Park and the Arnold Rim Trail is a 3 min drive
This house has been renovated recently, they did a very nice job in the bathrooms especially. The internet is extremely fast, so working remotely and taking video calls had zero issues.
We had a few hiccups but Heather was super responsive and got everything ironed out quickly.

Every year, a group of five of us get together at a vacation rental in rural Northern California. This year we chose this outstanding cabin in Arnold. The cabin exceeded our expectations! The kitchen was fully stocked, and between ping pong, corn hole, and ladder ball, there was hardly a down moment. When we did relax, the front deck was incredible. It was private and there was abundant wildlife including many deer, squirrels and even a family of raccoons. In the evening, we loved that we were able to access Prime Video and Netflix to watch a few movies. The location of the cabin was ideal. We enjoyed a couple of visits to Calaveras Big Trees State Park (breathtaking, and only four miles away), White Pines Park (fishing, hiking, pickle ball less than a mile away), and the quaint town of Murphys was less than a 15 minute drive. As a group, we have never stayed in the same place twice over the last 27 years, but this cabin may be the exception. We are already talking about booking again for next year's get together. If we could give it more than 5 Stars, we would!!!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming cabin in the woods! Each room has whimsical decorator touches while still providing all the comforts of a "home away from home." The beds were spacious and comfortable and each of the 3 bathrooms were thoughtfully updated and modestly appointed. The kitchen met all our of needs from coffee in the morning to preparing a dinner on our last evening there. A special addition was the abundent game selection, which ensured everyone visiting had a fun time! The BEST part of this property was the literal feeling of being in the Disney movie Bambi. We saw blue birds, bushy, silver tailed squirrels and multiple deer that would come and visit daily. There is even a "feeding station" positioned near the expansive outdoor deck that you can fill with provided deer food and water, to ensure their daily meals times are with you, at The Sanctuary. I highly recommed this for families looking for unplugged fun or just a respite from the daily grind of life. You will leave feeling rested and with a smile on your face!

Not ideal for hot days
During non-hot days, this would have been a lovely stay. Our stay was during weather in the low 90’s. The house does not have air conditioning and the house could not cool off, even throughout the night. It was really difficult to sleep or get comfortable. We actually left a day early due to this.
The house itself, and the location was great though.

Lots to do!
We were really impressed with the location of The Sanctuary! The pool was so close, inexpensive and never crowded. We took a quick dip in White Pines Lake, which was also so close! The scavenger hunt was a lot of fun, but we couldn't find two of the items. The best part was feeding the deer carrots from our hand. It was a bit hot without air conditioning, but this is to be expected. We would definitely stay here again!

first rate - everything that we wanted - all as promised!
lovely home and large deck. Very comfortable. In the woods - deer came up to the deck! Stores etc nearby but we felt like we were in the deep woods! well equipped home. very comfortable!

When medical condition didn’t allow us to go, no one was reachable.
All our efforts to contact someone to rebook for another date, as advertised, went nowhere. We were charged the full fee without so much as a ‘hi, how come you weren’t here’. The policy is misleading and it is a lot of money and fees and cleaning costs that we ended up having to pay.

Cozy and rustic cabin
We had a lovely time staying at this adorable cabin in Arnold. Great location, close to the pool, lake, big trees, and restaurants. The cabin was comfortable and clean with cute personal touches and quirky decor. However it did not look like the photos. Lights on the deck were not up, some repair and TLC is needed. Also, be aware there is no AC so in the summer it’s super hot upstairs. More fans and room darkening shades/blinds in the front rooms would really help with the heat. We had a great time!

Bad first impression.
The outside was very dirty when we arrived. We had to hose off everything after a long drive before we could sit outside. The inside was so hot we had to go out! You should let people know upstairs is to hot with out AC.

Perfect Getaway!
We love this cabin! We took a family trip up here and we had a wonderful time being immersed in nature with all of the surrounding trees and forest. Being out on the deck was our favorite part aside from looking through the house at all of the super creative artwork on the walls and the antiques utilized in all of the rooms! We would highly recommend this place to anyone! 5 stars!

A home away from home
There is no place better than home, and yet, The Sanctuary did feel like our home away from home. Every square inch is welcoming, and everything is naturally where it’s supposed to be, from the kitchen and living room downstairs, to the bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs. The spacious deck is where we enjoyed all of our meals every day, from the morning coffee to the late evening aperitif. Restaurants and the swimming pool are all in close proximity to the property, even within walking distance, which makes the location of The Sanctuary very desirable, and enjoyable. We’re already planning our next stay at The Sanctuary!

Charming ski cabin
This place is full of charm and character. The owner has a flare for repurposing antiques, check out the microscope lamp! Great location, only 20 min to Murphy which has yummy cafes, cupcakes, wine bars and boutiques. 40 min to Bear Valley, nothing closer than other than Bear Village. Took 2 hrs 45min from bay area in the evening traffic rush. Way better than Tahoe!

We loved staying in this beautiful cabin with our family! Our kids kept saying that the owners of the cabin must be very creative because so many of the pieces of the decor are repurposed so creatively!

upon arrive trash all over the yard - Informed property manager - Inside also "quickly" cleaned missing toys in living room floor / half drank water bottles all around - Called after check out requested refund of cleaning fee- was informed I would get a call back after researching - instead of a refund additional fee charged to CC - again called spoke with Rebecca who was unable to explain the additional charge - agreed to f/u regarding cleaning - Still nothing -

This place really has it all, two king size beds for the adults, great bunk room/playroom (with toys!) and an extra room which would be perfect for the older kids that want some privacy. Kitchen had everything you need, lots of things to do outside, cards and games inside, just a cozy little place. Perfect for a multi family getaway.

Amazing! Our first trip w/ friends and all our kids. So many memories. The muffins and hot cocoa was an amazing addition to a house so full already. Decor was awesome, so kid friendly. We are already looking forward to next time. Thank you to the owners!
