Fantastic location and room. Friendly, efficient service from hosts Keith and Wendy. Lovely!

Breakfast was excellent, good quality and piping hot. Very attentive service from Wendy who was constantly refilling our coffee and offering more toast etc. The food was well cooked and delicious.

A welcoming and comfortable base for exploring the lakes

Very homely place with a big comfy bed and delicious breakfast. Wendy and the team very kindly accommodated our lactose and gluten intolerances with zero fuss. It’s a great base to explore Ambleside and beyond. Wendy is a wonderful host!

Small extras we would have appreciated were shampoo and herbal teas in the room. But really everything else was amazing!

Had a lovely time and was able to visit the lovely surroundings the Lake District

The breakfast room was light and airy with adequate room between tables , the breakfast was very good .Norwood House was in ideal location ideal for restaurants and around the corner from the bus stop enabling easy access to the surrounding lakes

Clean and tidy .

I left before normal breakfast serving time (long trip south). Cereal and juice and txt messages from Wendy great. Great sleep 😴.

A bath or shower in single would have been good, however for one night (clean and secure) 👍👍👍

Really good all round apart from timing of breakfast.

Can remember the exact timings now, but breakfast was later than other similar accommodation in the area. An earlier start to breakfast would be useful for guests who want to get out onto the fells.

Breakfast and staff were lovely, really helpful for finding local attractions and walking routes. Happy to get a vegan breakfast alternative. Room was clean, relatively small, but well presented. Well located near restaurants and walking routes.

Room was relatively small, but not enough to affect the quality of the stay, no real views as it is in the centre of the town.

Exceptional

The proprietor was really personable and helpful, providing lots of helpful local info and tips. The location was great as I could walk to all of the shops, a few tourist locations, and the venue for the Windermere marathon, which is why I was visiting.

Friendly B&B with the most comfortable bed there ever was!

The bed was so comfortable, I had the best night's sleep it was a shame to have to get up in the morning! Breakfast was also amazing, a good selection and always served quickly and with a smile! I was grateful for daily top ups of the coffee, milk, water bottle and emptying of the bin as my friends were down the road and they didn't get this in their B&B!

I wasn't a fan of the wood chip wallpaper in the bedroom and the breeze block effect wallpaper in the hallways but that's just my personal taste and no reflection on the beautiful house. I would also like to see fewer lights left on during the evening (the eco warrior in me!)

The location was perfect, the breakfast was lovely and catered for gluten free, the host was attentive and chatty.

The bed was a little bit too hard and the water pressure for the shower was low but it did not ruin our stay.
