About this house rental
Gorgeous lakefront home overlooking 2500 acre all sports Big Platte Lake, only 2 short miles from popular M22 and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Summer rentals are minimum of weekly and are SATURDAY-SATURDAY. Beautifully furnished and renovated with modern decor and amenities, this 3 bed and 3 full bath home sleeps 9 comfortably. The moment you walk in the many windows draw your eye to the expansive crystal clear lake views. Enjoy a cup of coffee taking in the sunrise in the morning from the living area chairs that swivel 180 degrees so you can admire the lake or chat with friends in the living room. Two separate living areas both outfitted with large smart televisions. Bright and cozy main living area features a fieldstone gas fireplace and plenty of seating.
Relax and restore in the expansive master bedroom complete with gas fireplace and en-suite master bath. Each bedroom showcases incredible lake views. The master and queen rooms open onto a large deck overlooking the lake. The fully stocked kitchen has everything you need and looks great too with granite counters, tile backsplash, center island, stainless appliances and reverse osmosis drinking water. Take a sunset trek with the two standup paddleboards and 4 kayaks provided, or spread out on the lounge chairs on the expansive dock.
Riverside Canoe is only 6 minutes away where you can spend the day tubing, kayaking, or canoeing down the scenic Platte River . Or just grab an ice cream cone and sit by their firepit in the evening. Only 11 minutes away you can enjoy the Platte Point Beach and swim in sandy Lake Michigan where the Platte River enters and admire the Bluffs of Sleeping Bear Dunes in the distance. Only a short drive to so many attractions the area offers including Empire Bluffs, Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, Glen Arbor, Frankfort, and the Point Betsie Lighthouse. About a 35 minute drive to Traverse City and wine country. The Northern Michigan memories to be made here are endless! Check us out at the Sleeping Bear Cottage on IG!
Things to consider: BOOKINGS ARE SATURDAY-SATURDAY AND WEEKLY DURING THE SUMMER. We are located on a small bluff which while providing incredible views, is still a consideration for small children as there are no barriers and there is not a beach. We have a large lot across the street for yard games as the lakeside yard is smaller. Shallow waters are extra clear and clean, but we recommend water shoes as it can be rocky and have zebra mussels. Pontoon boat is not included. 2 Parking Spaces in front of home and 4 more on our lot across the street. Towels for bathing are provided, however beach towels are not included. Life jackets are not provided and must be brought by guests.

Great location. Great house with everything we needed. Neighbors were friendly. Owners were easy to communicate with. We hope to be back again!

The Lake house was exactly as listed. We loved the open concept of the first floor, the use of the mooring buoy for our boat for the week, and all the water activities available to our family. We would definitely stay at the Lake House again.

The perfect lake house for our family of 6! The house was clean and well-appointed, check-in was a breeze, and the host communicated well. Plenty of beds to house our family, or even more! The house is a lakefront paradise, with an awesome patio, fire pit, hammock, and dockfront chairs. The highlight was the kayaks and paddleboards and the lake itself. Great location, too, just a short drive to towns in all directions.

We've rented many places and this is by far our favorite experience in Northern MI. Travis and Ashley were so responsive throughout the rental process and no surpises from the listing! Their home is lovely, extremely clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was supplied with just enough and wasn't cluttered with a bunch of stuff. Paddle boards and kayaks were great to have along with a mooring buoy. The area was quiet and the frontage was very clean!! Would highly recommend this home.

The house was well stocked. The view looking out onto the lake was beautiful. We loved having access to the kayaks and paddle boards. The lake was very clear. We would choose this house again.

We had an amazing vacation at this cottage and absolutely did not want it to end! The house was perfect for our family of 4 and 2 parents. Open concept first floor living and comfy bedrooms upstairs, beautifully decorated and practical. We spent most of our time lakeside, playing games on the patio, relaxing in the hammock, enjoying campfires, and of course -- playing in the lake with all the provided lake toys. With the National park in your backyard and access to many Lake Michigan beaches, plus sitting right on beautiful Platte Lake, this was a trip for the books! Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us!

My three teenagers and I stayed here for a week and loved every second. It was larger than we needed for our small group (it could easily fit two families!) but we appreciated all the extra room. Every detail was thought of, and it was picture perfect. Super clean, very modern! Furniture was comfortable and stylish, towels were super-soft, and comfortable bedding. Nothing was hand-me-down about this home, and utmost care was taken in decoration and amenities. We adore Platte Lake, and the paddle boards and kayaks included were appreciated so that we could enjoy the water. I spent quite a bit of time reading at the end of the dock on the lounge chairs. Great location in Benzie County where we could get to our favorite places (Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire Bluff, Frankfort, Beulah, Glen Arbor) quickly. We hope to return again! THANK YOU!

This house was perfect for our family vacation. We loved relaxing on the back decks overlooking the beautiful lake. The paddleboards and kayaks were great, and kids loved swimming off of the dock. The house was beautifully decorated and spotless. Great central location to go north toward Glen Arbor and Sleeping bear dunes, or south toward Frankfort. Lots of beach options too within a 5-10 min drive. Couldnt have asked for a better place!

Awesome place on Platte Lake. Exactly as advertised. Spacious enough for 2 families with 8 people total.

We had an amazing week at Sleeping Bear Cottage. The house is clean and modern, just as pictured. There are gorgeous views of the lake from every room. The lake itself is so clean and clear-you can easily see right to the bottom. We rented a pontoon for our week and loved cruising the lake and the kids loved tubing. We also took advantage of the kayaks and paddle boats provided.
The location couldn’t have been better. Easy access to Lake Michigan beaches, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leelanau peninsula and Frankfort. We loved exploring all these areas during our stay, and also having some quiet days just hanging at the cottage and the lake.
Travis and Ashley were excellent hosts. The check in process was super easy, and we followed many of their recommendations of things to do and see in the area. Would come back here in a heartbeat!

What a great cottage on a beautiful lake! Everything about this house suited us perfectly - the decor (very clean, modern and bright), the location (Sleeping Bear, Glen Arbor, Frankfort), and the abundance of indoor and outdoor amenities. We felt like we were in a place where the owners put much thought and care into making sure their guests felt right at home. We were thoroughly delighted with our stay here and highly recommend!
