Microwave was in a cabinet at basically floor level. Not great for an older person

Nothing.
The major issue we had is room cleanliness. The shower curtain had not been changed/replaced for our new stay on 12/5-12/6. I know this because I also made a room reservation for 12/4 -12/5 the night before. And during that stay we were also put in the same room 121. during that stay I got some of my shampoo all over the curtain. However, We checked out that morning on 12/5 and did not plan on restaying for the night of 12/5-12/6. We decided to rebook a new room/new stay again. So we rebooked a NEW stay for 12/5-12/6 around 10:30pmThat night on 12/5. we were given room 121 again for the new stay(12/5-12/6).The shower curtain was still dirty from when we stayed in the room during our previous stay, which should have been changed out for any new guest staying in the room considering we checked out and weren’t returning/didn’t rebook until later that night. The bedding on bed 2 was also disgusting and had stains of some sort all over it. So I took it entirely off the bed to make sure not to use it, as there were 3 different spots with fresh staining of some sort some of which looking like blood or something of the sorts. Another issue we had was we checked in around 1130pm and by 1215am not even an hour into our stay, the whole block was out of power. Our room was already freezing when we checked in. And the power wasn’t on long enough to heat the room at all so we slept in the car with the heat on until 5am when power was restored. (5-6 hours of no power). I had to sleep with heat As I’m pregnant and couldn’t be in the cold which was the whole reason for us getting a hotel. We couldn’t even enjoy. I am not very impressed as we stay here a lot and don’t have any issues. But our stay last night was completely horrible between having no power, no heat, freezing, the room being gross. It was just not acceptable.

Bugs inside and toilet bowl flush was not working good.

Room was clean , breakfast was good and staff was friendly.
The exterior of the hotel including stairs, balconies to the room were in real bad shape. There was even blocked portions of the balcony because of safety. Very dirty.

Location and staff
Bathtub lever wouldn’t stay open so was hard to drain. Breakfast did not have meat
2.5
Only complaint was bath tub. Didn't feel comfortable taking shower. Think it may have started to get painted but two different colors wasn't sure. Everything else was good
3.5
Pros:
Friendly, competent, hardworking staff
Clean room
Decent water pressure
Bathtub
Comfortable bed
Convenient location off the highway
Relatively low price
Free breakfast
Cons:
-No deadbolt on the door
-Slightly sketchy feel at night: someone loitering outside, damaged flooring on the balcony from which 2nd-floor rooms are accessed
-Smokey smell in some common areas (but not main lobby) -thought I caught a wiff twice in the room as well, but room was overall fine.
-Don’t pay through Booking.com, pay the hotel directly. There is apparently some issue with payments processing from Booking.com to the hotel. I haven’t had this issue anywhere else so I still recommend booking.com, but not for this hotel.
-Older fixtures, e.g. worn enamel on the bathtub, but that didn’t bother me as I expected it for the price.

room smelled light cigarette smoke, door didn’t lock, water was lukewarm on full “hot”

Very low key. Not a lot of choice.
I booked a pet friendly room but then had extra 30$ charge for my pet? One would th8nk a pet friendly room is charged accordingly.

Very comfortable bed and pillows. Quiet surroundings. Customer service was very accommodating.
We felt a little chilly, and the fridge didn't really ever get cold. The only seating is on the beds.

The Bed
This property being next to a Super 8, which Super 8 has decades of customer value, Queen City Inn is run by customers, don’t know who is in charge. The person cleaning the toilets or the front desk. Maine has so many control freaks for a beautiful state. I feel this property is a danger to Bangor Maine.
5.0
I was glad there was juice available and oatmeal, and other options.
