Enjoy some of the best views of the London skyline from this historic borough. One of the city's oldest neighbourhoods is home to many top attractions.
During the Tudor and Stuart eras, Southwark was a notorious hub of sordid entertainment and a refuge for criminals. Today, thanks to its many interesting attractions, it's a popular tourist destination.
Look inside the beautiful Southwark Cathedral, one of London's oldest Gothic churches. The cathedral was built in the 13th century, with numerous additions through the 19th century. Inside, notice several memorials to William Shakespeare, who is believed to have worshipped here. Look for the tomb of Shakespeare's brother, Edmund, and a stained-glass window depicting characters from A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet and The Tempest.
Visit Borough Market, the region's most iconic food market, which has been on the same site since the 13th century. During the week, the market has about a dozen vendors. Numbers swell to more than 100 stalls from Thursday to Saturday. Find vendors selling fantastic cheeses, homemade bread, organically farmed meats, fresh coffees and local produce and food products.
Check out Tate Modern, Britain’s most extensive and beautiful art gallery. The collection is housed in an imaginatively restored mid-20th-century power station, with exhibits spread across seven floors. The gallery's impressive permanent collection is arranged thematically into categories, including “Still Life" and “Landscape." Look for works by Picasso, Matisse, Anish Kapoor, Monet and Pollock in the Material Gestures galleries.
Discover the compelling Clink Museum on the site of a 12th-century London jail. See medieval torture instruments and learn about the horrifying conditions once endured by prisoners in these cells.
Tour Shakespeare's Globe, a detailed replica of the original 16th-century theatre. Explore the attached museum, which examines Elizabethan theatre and includes an exciting collection of historic Bankside entertainment material. From April to October, watch performances ranging from Shakespearean productions to modern plays in the Globe.

Fácil y cómodo acceso. Apartamento muy céntrico. Muy limpio. Camas confortables. Como punto negativo decir que al hacer una simple tosdada en la tostadora, incluso con las ventanas abiertas, la alarma de humos entraba en funcionamiento con un sonido atronador.

Lovely affordable accomodation. Suited us nicely for a quick visit!

When we got there the smoke alarm was beeping every minute in the bedroom and the couch bed that my son was supposed to be sleeping on was broken and pilled up in the corner so he had no where to sleep.I was told that someone was coming to fix it between 6-7.no one came and I had to improvise and make him a bed on the floor. Then I was told the maintenance guy was calling the following night between 6-7 but again no one called.I was just being fobbed off by the company that was looking after it.awful service.
Needless to say it was my husbands first and last time staying this way.he said it was not worth the hassle of it and would rather pay for a hotel

All such management companies, in my view, could reform check in and check out time policies. So much of world travel includes early morning arrivals and then waiting many hours to truly arrive. Also, this property is very nice, but there are no instructions about the flat’s appliances and no neighborhood recs or transportation tips.

This property is in an excellent location.
I visited during cold weather, and the in-floor heating worked well to keep off the chill.
The bedroom and salon area has comfortable furniture and, although this property is near a well-used street, the bedroom is quiet at night owing to good soundproofing.
You will want to close the bathroom door at night, as street noise does come in that window.
The kitchen is adequately appointed, with pots, pans, cutlery, and dishware. I would have liked a cutting board and a colander/strainer for cooking with.
Many VRBOs also come with basic supplies for longer stays. My stay was for three weeks. I had sufficient toilet tissue and laundry detergent. A single trash bag was supplied for a three-week stay, and no washing machine powder or tablets were supplied. There was instant coffee, confectionary sugar, and flour in the cupboard, but no sugar, salt, or pepper.
Fortunately, there are two well-stocked and convenient shops around the corner that are open late, as well as a Co-Op store a five minute walk away to get these things (as most VRBOs and similar lodgings supply these things it was a bit or a surprise).

The flat was in a convenient location for our needs. It was secure and clean. We are rating it only 4/5 stars only because it was very frustrating not to be able to brush and clean the toilet. Limescale builds up very quickly in this area of London and we were sorry to leave a stained toilet bowl upon leaving.
