Alaska Nordic | Creek Chalet no.1 is a fabulously beautiful and tranquil property located in a serene corner of the forest. It is incredibly peaceful in the snowy months and inviting to the outdoors in the summer months.
The space is styled in Nordic fashion; simple, clean and elegant. 3bd/2ba chalet. Luxury linens, high quality mattresses and location right on the trail hard to beat.
NOTE: The 4th bedroom as listed isn't a true bedroom. There is a very large sectional sofa that repositions into 2 full size beds. It is located in the lift area of the 2nd floor. Linens and pillows included.
The property has three units: this unit no.1 and also Alaska Nordic Creek Chalet no.2 and no.3. Each has private parking, entry and access to the backyard and trail.
Each unit is private, quiet and a different size so each can accommodate different group sizes.
If lucky, booking all units at the same time would facilitate an incredible home base for a large group or multiple families travelling together.
I am available to resolve issues, provide additional supplies and help with recommendations for your trip.
My wife and I were born and raised in Alaska. We are both explorers and adventurers so have a lot of personal experience in Alaska's outdoors. My wife has worked in the Alaska travel industry for a long time and is an expert with bookings and trip planning.
The property is located in one of Anchorage's first homesteads. As the family grew in generations the original homestead was divided over time into the smaller pieces we currently have. There are multiple descendants of the original homesteaders still living in the neighborhood.
This said, the property is very centrally located in Anchorage:
10 min to the Airport | 3 min to the Seward Hwy | 15 min to Flattop Mountain | 10 min to Downtown | 45 min to Girdwoo
There are two private and designated off-street parking spots. There is also a city park that abuts the property where larger vehicles or those with trailers could park temporarily.
We have a private access trail to the Campbell Creek Trail and are directly next to a creek access park. The park has a nice small beach that is safe for kids. The Campbell Creek Trail is paved and connects to over 100 miles of city-wide trails for access to endless local adventures. Taku Lake is 1 mile South on the trail and offers a great morning views, fishing and sunshine. Peanut Farm Bar and Arctic Roadrunner Burger Joint are both .75 mile North on the trail and are both classic Alaskan watering holes with tons of historical pictures and a look at Alaska's short past.
Available by Request:
- Pack'n'Play | Dock'a'Tot | Sound Machine | Umbrella Stroller | Bath Toys | Toys | Books | Car Seat
-Two bikes are available once the trail is free of snow and ice after break-up
- IF you would like anything else, please ask, I more than likely can accommodate you.

Excellent chalet for our family. The owner was extremely responsive to our inquiries. The home is well appointed with all the basic items included. We were pleased with the bath and kitchen amenities. The bathrooms even had heated floors.
The walking trail is awesome with a few bald eagle sightings in the morning.
Great vacation rental.

First, the property (Creekside home unit #1) was well maintained and has a beautiful backdrop of a running stream. A few tried our hands at fishing with no success. The host was responsive to questions. Amply parking was available for two vehicles if needed. The downside is one needs to read the fine print. First, the description indicates 4 bedrooms (drawing of each with walls), one with a king bed, one with a queen bed and two with double beds. The 4th bedroom is indeed not a bedroom but a central open "loft" with a wraparound couch. We were not counting on this but made do. Vrbo needs to be better about accurately representing the property being listed and not hide these important details (I was only made aware when the reservation was confirmed by the host Dallas). Second, the weather was a bit warm during our visit and we were not able to cool down the bedrooms at night to aid in sleeping. A small fan was provided in the room where I stayed. The WIFI worked well. We did not cook during our stay (Jerry’s OMG Burritos near by was great for breakfast) but there are dishes, utensils, and a dishwasher. Nice location near the Anchorage airport.

Great house, super clean. The only negative is it was listed as a 4 bedroom and it’s only 3 bedrooms so we had people sleeping on a coach in living room with no blinds. Not great in the summer. Would stay here again with a smaller group. House owner was very nice and responsive.

Everything was spot on. Thanks Dallas

We enjoyed our stay. The accommodations are as described. The best aspect is the location, central to all that Anchorage has to offer. The proximity to the multi-use trail is a real bonus.

We were so pleasantly surprised at how well maintained and clean this home was! What you see is what you get!
Everything we needed was right there in the home! Dallas was very easy to work with and was prompt in responding to my messages. Their Alaskan hospitality shown brightly. We would definitely stay here again, if the need arises.

Just cant beat that view.picture perfect.

This place is just as listed. It was comfortable and Dallas was great. The house could be more conducive to relaxing downstairs with a TV and a few chairs. The TV upstairs is nice, however, there’s only streaming channels, no regular network channels for games, etc. The upstairs is comfortable, the couch is hard to use as a couch due to it being 2 full size sleepers however. The view was great and the walking trail was really nice. Overall, we had a great trip.

We had a wonderful week and a half at this VRBO. The location on the Campbell Creek Trail is perfect for regular walks where Grandma taking walks by herself and middle aged dad running felt comfortable for miles in both directions. Taku Lake to the left was particularly fun for seeing moose. The view out to the creek and bridge is lovely - feel like you’re in the woods, not Anchorage. Great blackout blinds in the bedrooms to help with sleeping in the summer. Kitchen had the pots/pans/implements for cooking.
We stay at VRBO’s with some regularity, and we’ve never had a sweeter host. We had an unusual request, and he knocked it out of the park going well above and beyond our expectations.

What a great place to stay! Moose walking around the yard. The creek in the back. Right on a beautiful trail system. Everything in the house you would need even coffee filters. Tons of room for our whole family plus a little extra. Loved it. Lots of parking space. Heated floors in the bathroom! Are you kidding me! We’ll be staying here again!

We were in Anchorage for a wedding and vacation. The house is on Campbell Creek which is perfect for morning walks. It is also in a great location for navigating the surrounding area. We had everything we needed and more! The owner is a local and super helpful.
