The cottage is in a very quiet beautiful setting with well manicured lawns very scenic views and ample parking spaces. The cottage is very spacious with a large lounge and kitchen which has an adjoining outdoor dining area. Every utensil required is available Two double bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Two lovely bathrooms with superb showers and quality bath towels.
I don’t normally give such high praise but our stay was faultless. My partner and I will definitely be returning here in the future.

We had a wonderful break at this lovely cottage. It had everything you need and the setting was lovely with spectacular views all around. Good base for visiting all parts of the northern lakes. This part of the world is idyllic.

Lake View is located in Thornthwaite Powter Howe. It is a lovely location if you enjoy a short wander or a long hike, both are easily achieved. From the property itself there is a short walk alongside sheep filled fields through a small wood which leads down to the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake - less than a five minutes amble..
Conveniently the X5 bus stop is just outside, £2.00 to anywhere along the route. Travel to Keswick, Penrith or Carlisle in one direction or Cockermouth or Workington in the other. We found this a lovely way to travel, see the views along the way and not worry about the car, parking, etc.
About 3 miles takes you into Keswick with all its amenities. Shopping is easy and varied, with plenty of places to grab a bite to eat - breakfast, lunch or dinner. Trips can be taken around Derwent Water by open top bus, lake launch or even victorian style rowing boats.
Lake View is exactly that. Looking east are stunning views across the southern end of Bassenthwaite Lake, Dodd Wood, Dodd Summit, Skiddaw and a myriad of other fells beyond. To the west is the impressive Broom Fell featuring the locally famous "Bishop" rock, Whythop Wood and the edge of Whinlatter Forest park.
All nestled in a lovely rural setting, very quiet where you can listen to the local wildlife and the sound of babbling brooks.
The property enjoys access to a well maintained large garden, ideal for a lazy stroll, beware of the pond if young ones are with you.
This is a lovely apartment, enjoys large rooms all of which have wonderful views, there is a large terrace to enjoy and eat outdoors in the sunshine {where possible}, beware:- there are a few steps if you are not mobile - a handful to the front door, several more up to the lounge/diner and a couple of others inside the apartment.

Lake view is lovely, light and airy with fine views. However there are some internal steps which are not easily visible and could do with being marked by some sort of edge strip. Similarly there are steep steps up to the front door and more steep steps into the apartment itself, which would make things difficult for the very elderly or disabled though I don’t recall seeing this mentioned in the information. The dishwasher completely baffled me and was very noisy on the one occasion I did get some action out of it!

Top quality accommodation, clean and everything we needed. Fantastic views and good location for visiting Keswick and surrounding area. Responsive service during booking process. Ideal place to stay for 4 in northern lakes

INCREDIBLE - that's the best word I can describe this gorgeous, perfect cottage. Located in the former Swan Coaching Inn. It's immaculate inside. First off, the views, from every aspect of this gorgeous place - front and back, the views are breathtaking. you walk up the little stairs to your own private front door, and into a little cloak -where you can leave boots/coats, and then up 3 or 4 stairs and into the lounge. A true "welcome home" feeling. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (ensuite and the other bathroom a single step from the bedroom), a great brand new kitchen, with everything you need, from Dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave, full-size separate fridge & freezer, and every utensil and cooking equipment you need - plus a gorgeous window seat. A door then leads to an outside enclosed/safe terrace, where you can drink your coffee and be gobsmacked by those views again. The WIFI is BT and very fast (stream films on TV etc), and there's a smart TV for those rainy later afternoons/evenings after a walk, where you can curl up on the sofa. There's even a little dining table for 4 - and whilst there is no Chimmney (given it's a converted pub) the owners have created a little heater, that has a flame effect, so it feels like a little fire - very cute and warming and it does the job really well. The owners of this place have thought of everything, designed the place with real care, and left it spacious and snug all at the same time.
We had 3 nights booked but extended to 4 as we didn't want to go home.
Short walk across the field, through the woods, and under the underpass of A66 - all fenced off and safe for the dogs, and about 8 min lovely walk from the cottage to the lake edge, then you can walk fully along the edge for as long as you want.
I can't rate it enough.
It's a short car journey to Keswick, but worth the short ride, to be welcomed back by those views.
Found a taxi company "Denise's" who would pick up and drop off with the Dog too - so every base is covered, if you wanted to get into Keswick and both have a few glasses of beer/wine, and not drive. £12.50 each way. Each of the drivers were lovely with the dog too.
Keswick Cottages was the booking agent, and they were super helpful too.
Best stay away we've had in ages.
Highly recommended.

This is our third stay at the Cottage and the second Christmas stay. The cottage is very well appointed and waram and comfortable with everything you could need. It also has superb views throughout. We were also lucky enough to win the Christmas hamper which really got things going! thank you so much for that. One tiny niggle is the couch which has seen better days and is not comfortable especially when 90% of the holiday was unfortunately plagued by rain ha! However I would highly recommend a stay here in a lesser known but wonderfully situated Cottage/area. Also the staff at Keswick Cottages are very helpful, we had a minor power outage and we were called back and situation resolved in under an hour. Simply wonderful and really didn't want to come home x

Lake View Cottage is a brilliant place to stay. Clean, comfortable and exceptionally well equipped. The balcony with its superb view of the mountains and lovely garden furniture is a great place to spend time eating and drinking. Plenty of outside space with shared large garden and ample parking .
Good access to walking from the door and just a short drive into Keswick.

We have been to this superb apartment in a stunning location on a number of occasions. It has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment which has considerably enhanced the property . The only grumble is that settee and chairs in the lounge are a little uncomfortable.

We last stayed at Lake View in 2018, since then it has had a substantial make over and is much improved. A very warm and comfortable cottage with everything you could need. Well equipped new kitchen, lovely en-suite and main bathroom and lounge with spectacular views! Can't wait to return.
Thanks to everyone at Keswick Cottages you do a great job!

Apartment was stunning , cosy , yet spacious. All mod cons . Comfortable beds , spotlessly clean . Beautiful views . Keswick cottages were very accommodating with my requests. Photos do not do it justice. Can’t recommend highly enough- thank you.

We love this cottage, its the 5th time we've stayed here. However this visit there was lots of cobwebs in both bedrooms (I think it had been empty for 2 or 3 weeks).
The location is great and we love the balcony. I do feel the price at over £1,000 is too high even for a peak week (the price has increased 50% in 4 years) therefore we are unlikely to rebook for next October.

Great verandah with super views of Skiddaw Keswick and Barf. Comfortable and clean. There should be a warning about the number of steps to the lounge and the step down from the kitchen to the lounge is almost invisible and potentially dangerous until you get used to it. Cutlery drawer took some finding. Settees a little hard for prolonged sitting and TV a little small. However these are details rather than major criticisms. We had an enjoyable stay despite the rain and hail.

Lake View Cottage proved an excellent choice. We had a relaxing week walking amongst old favorites ( Latrigg, Dodd, Buttermere, Cat Bells etc.) eating well and rowing .
Our accommodation was comfortable, had all the necessary accoutrements, was beautifully presented and all in all of top quality.
I guess the only challenge for some would be the steps but I'm nearly eighty and managed them with ease. Superb views from the property, which was quiet and tranquil.
We hope to return next year.

Well presented property dominant ly comfortable and well kitted in all areas
More steps than expecting inside and out and not clearly marked
Main bedroom bed not the most comfortable
Both bathrooms and showers good as was the kitchen
Provision for cycle storage inadequate, bike racks coming away from wall not suitable or storing expensive bikes

A comfortable spacious apartment in a stunning location which offers everything you need for a great holiday in the Keswick area

Quiet and peaceful with a great view.
A well equipped modern apartment in a quiet place outside Keswick. Very comfortable and walks from the door including to Bassenthwaite Lake. It is a drive away from places to eat, shopping and facilities but all within easy reach around Keswick. There is a well kept large communal garden at the rear of the property. We keep returning to Lake View Cottage which speaks for itself.
The staff at Keswick Cottages are very friendly, helpful and efficient. They are a local company and know the area and their properties. A real bonus on a first visit to the area in the Lake District.

Wonderful stay in this extremely well presented accomodation
We stayed at Lake view cottage and had a great week. The property was immaculate with great beds, comfy furniture, great bathrooms and a more than well-stocked kitchen. But the best feature was undoubtedly the amazing view. We loved watching the light change and look at the clouds rolling across the hills. A perfect spot to explore the northern part of the lakes with highlights like Grasmere only about 30 minutes by car, and Kewsick and all its shops basically around the corner.
