Spacious, comfortable room in good location. I was able to charge my EV.
Very comfortable bed with clean sheets.
Bathroom clean generally but seal in shower and shower tray around the door was a bit grotty.

Always a lovey welcome, great hotel

The room was nice, clean and spacious, however seemed rather pricey £160, compared with similar places. Felt car parking at an extra £8 for 24 hrs was quite cheeky. Breakfast was lovely, full English, various options, even kedgeree.

I stayed overnight and met with friends so my experience was only related to the bedroom and the following mornings breakfast. Staff are incredibly friendly and very welcoming and the room was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Was very tasty and well cooked and the service was prompt and delivered with a smile. Hopefully I will be back.

On the whole, well done to the Bedford hotel.
I'm quite tall and wide, so the small shower cubicle was very snug! Apart from that a good stay.

The staff were amazing, room was a little outdated and the stairs well there was lots of them.

It was wonderful to come back after 35 years! Just as lovely as we remembered!

Room was very clean bed was comfortable and nice to have a fan in the toom
4.4
Ground floor room was close to car park which did cause some noise which disturbed us night and morning
The room was very small with only a walking edge around the bed
We have stayed here many time and there are nicer rooms available so I suggest you book direct with hotel

Loved the hotel, its facilities and the staff.
Didn’t like having to pay £8 to park when anyone using the bar or restaurant could park for free. It felt like a rip off. Didn’t like the rubbish WiFi.
The breakfast was okay but nothing special. Ive had a lot better for a lot less money.

The hotel was fabulous and I love Tavistock. We were a little disappointed with our room - it was tiny and you couldn't look out of the windows as the glass was obscured. We definitely didn't expect that but I imagine it was because we booked theough an agency.
4.4
The staff are amazing and the hotel is in an excellent location.
This hotel is quaint, old fashioned and traditional. The staff lovely a very good breakfast. However , as an average 3 star , nothing more to add

Driven past this hotel countless times & always thought that it looked like a lovely, well presented building. Thankfully thanks to Hotels.com I eventually stayed there last night & it didn’t disappoint.
Everything was pretty much what I expected , couldn’t really fault it, except maybe for the £8.00 daily parking charge, I personally don’t think that residents should be charged this.

Nice hotel
Shower pressure on third floor very low.
Breakfast good.
Easy access to High Street on foot.

Staying after a fishing session

Had a lovely stay at the Bedford Hotel. Room was well presented and clean. The staff were very friendly (Zoe on the front desk was very chatty and knowledgeable). Tasty breakfast and a nice late time to check out by. I was able to park my car in their car park and see my car from the room. Thank you for a great stay!
4.4
Did not see on expedia site that there was an £8 night parking charge
The hotel was great staff were very friendly and helpfull
Our room was extremely hot no rads on windows open all the time and this was mid feb

The Bedford is a very comfortable traditional hotel and we really enjoyed our stay.
4.4
Although the breakfast left a little to be desired the rest of the stay was faultless… nice room, comfy bed etc

This hotel is in a very convenient central location in Tavistock. It’s a short walk to shops and restaurants and pubs, and it has its own parking, so what is not to like?
Inside, it is traditional, but clean and tidy, with a decent restaurant and bar. my room was warm and comfortable, if a little bit small. But I would go back there again if visiting Tavistock. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
4.4
Appreciate that the property is very old, however, the room decor was very tired and in need of refurbishing. Lighting was poor, especially in the bathroom.
4.4
Greeted by friendly people at check in . Lovely room . Breakfast was great .
Down side was the Hotel charged £8.00 to park in their hotel carpark . Which we found to be shocking

Lovely stay.

As a regular visitor to the Bedford hotel I was very unimpressed when they billed me £8.00 to park my car overnight at the hotel. Just because I booked the room through a third party. If I had booked direct there is no charge apparently. This will cost the hotel money in my opinion. Although only £8.00 its the principal. They are happy to promote themselves through third party websites but then charge the customer for that. I won’t be stopping there again. That £8.00 charge has just cost them approximately £1000.00 per year. Not good business.

We had a lovely time and would stay again. The only problem was when the jacuzzi went wrong and we had no instructions, which would have been useful. Otherwise, no complaints. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean.
The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.

Excellent place to stay, definitely will be back

The premises were very convenient for me as I was attending a funeral in the nearby Church.
4.4
I wasn’t able to check in before 15.00 despite the fact that I was attending a funeral.
The reception staff were were otherwise extremely helpful they couldn’t do enough to help.
4.4
Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Very very warm rooms. Very loud function happening downstairs with no mention of this upon booking or check in. Made getting to sleep very difficult.
4.4
We did not enjoy our stay here, the room was very expensive for what it was, and we did not find it comfortable. The bathroom was old-fashioned and the towels were worn and off-white.
The food was not great at dinner although the breakfast was excellent.
We paid for parking which seemed a bit excessive in consideration of the high cost of the room.
It could do with a refurb.
4.4
Only downside our room was very hot and the cooling fan was not up to the job.
4.4
Beautiful new room very clean thank you
4.4
A lovely and relaxing place to spend some time. Only thingI’d change would be a more effective fan, as the rooms upstairs are a bit too hot for my liking. Otherwise I’d recommend heartily!
4.4
Fabulous old hotel with great staff. Ideal base for exploring the area.
4.4
Shower in the room was not very powerful (we were on the 2nd floor)
Breakfast service was poor as we were ignored on a middle table, and everyone around us were getting served. Very dissatisfied
4.4
Pleasant stay, just wish the pillows could be plumper, not like rock cakes.
4.4
a pleasant stay as usual, nice to be back at the hotel post covid
4.4
Love this hotel in every way from the wonderful warm welcome you receive from all the staff, to the beautiful building, ambience and comfortable well equipped rooms. The food and drink selection is great and always delicious too. Can’t wait to return.
