Lovely place to stay. Historical, charming, and Arlene was a great host. And the front porch kitties were a fun touch! Would stay here again.

Truly enjoyed staying here. Ms. Arlene was an amazing host and Gina made such delicious breakfast.

We enjoyed hearing the history of the area and the lovely homey feel of the property. We also enjoyed visiting with the owner at breakfast

Everything was great! Arlene, the innkeeper, is a great host who is very knowledgeable about the area and is full of history!

Great hostess and breakfast!

Arlen Lanham, an engineer and author, and an absolute Bon Vivant, runs an amazingly welcoming and friendly old Victorian house in the charming Old Colorado Town neighborhood. The breakfast alone, between the conversations, history, and wonderful food, makes the stay one which I really hope to repeat!

It is a lovely property, but shows its age. While it was generally clean, the bathroom rug and baseboard were filthy. The outside and yard need a good cleaning. The breakfast was tasty, but didn't include protein or toast, and tended to be quite sweet.

the house was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. Arlene's breakfast tales were entertaining and educational. Love the neighborhood cats. so sweet. Met some really nice people from England and Scotland. Would go back.

Loved this Victorian gem. Lots of history here. Arlene will tell you all about it. She is a great host and ambassador of the area. Loved breakfast with Arlene, it was delicious.

Innkeeper Arlene is amazing and very kind

There was no one there at check in and no one there other than breakfast. One or two other guests at any time. We stay at bed and breakfast and not at a hotel for the conversations, recommendations and personal touch an owner gives. My understanding was the owner was on vacation. I would have preferred to know this before booking. It was a beautiful Victorian home.

We were told someone pretending to know me took the key. We will not be staying here.

Arlene is a wonderful host. Hearing the history of the B&B and the personal history of the owner, Arlene, was a highlight.

Arlene very cordial and wonderful historic home.

There were many things to like about this property: it has a great location, it's beautiful, it was quiet, and the breakfast was very tasty. However, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the hostess insists on joining breakfast and dominating the conversation. I'm not sorry we went, but we won't be back.

Our host was lovely but the B&B wasn't a good fit for us. We wanted a place close to walking distance from Old Colorado City and thought the B&B would be something outside the box. That is was but not for our taste. Our room was on the main floor across from the formal dining room. We were informed breakfast would be at 8am but we are early risers (5am) and had to catch a flight. We realize it's an old house but you could hear people walking outside our door due to the floors creaking. It could be a very nice place with some of the historical memorabilia put away. Needs to update all the lightbulbs, bed linens and pillows (with had to fold our 1 flat pillow in half to get comfortable). Include 4 pillows with each room. I think if you're into a community breakfast and love to stay in historical places, this would be for you. On the plus side, we love the 2 comical neighborhood cats greeting us at the property. I think one of them wanted to come home with us. Super cute!

What a fun and amazing stay! Arlene gave us a wonderful tour along with a history of this beautiful Queen Ann treasure. She was hospitable and friendly. Couldn't have been better!

Very friendly reception upon arrival and an unexpected and detailed tour of the house and its history. Beautiful home, and obviously well cared for.

Travelling from Texas we were surprised to have Covid restrictions required upon our arrival. Had this been disclosed to me, clearly, during booking I would not have even considered staying at the property. Since it's not refundable by Hotels.com we lost two nights fee. We have been scammed by both the host and Hotels.com.

It's a little quirky, not fancy, but historic, comfortable and quiet. It was fun to talk to Arlene, the property owner, at breakfast. The food was really good.

Great historic property to stay at. Walkable distance to good restaurants. Our host Arlene was very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the area. Wonderful breakfasts, a step up from the usual B&B fair. I would highly recommend this property to everyone.

Old school basic charm. Host gave history and details of this historic home. It is old school. So expect a bed, bath and breakfast. Great location and host was friendly and informative. Quiet location and parking right in-front by the house or can park in the back drive. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops.

Historic home w/attentive innkeeper. However, numerous homeless people in neighborhood, boarded up houses nearby, pancake flat pillows made sleeping truly a challenge & very minimal room for suitcases due to knicknacks. Convenient to Garden of the Gods & Pikes Peak.

WARNING BED BUGS!! The room was dirty, carpets not vacuumed and hair in my bed. I was so exhausted after a procedure I had that day I stayed anyway and tried to cancel the second night and get a refund because I was clearly unhappy. The owner would not even consider a refund. Then I drove all the way back to NewMexico that day so exhausted and started seeing several bites on my arms and legs and my back started itching. I looked up the marks when I got home thinking it was bed bug bites and sure enough they were. I called Arlene to complain and let her know the issue and she said there was no way they had bed bugs and I could come inspect to find them and show her. A professional exterminator has to do that to find them by the way. So I started a dispute with my bank and now she is lying and saying I declined the mask policy and never stayed there.

The person who answered the door had us wait outside in the cold. After 15 minutes, we left and they woukdnt refund our money.

Dingy, dark, and disappointing. Unkempt exterior. The unappetizing breakfast included a fruit cup with a couple of long hairs on the plate underneath. Bathroom mat was dirty and tub mat was moldy. Having stayed in many B and B's in the U.S. and abroad, this rates at the bottom.

Arlene is welcoming and knowledgeable about the home and the area. Theresa made the most delicious breakfast and was very accommodating. My room was quaint and clean. The shops of Old Colorado City are just around the corner, it’s in a great location. Thanks for the hospitality, Ladies!

Arlene was very friendly and the house is in good shape for being over 130 years old.
The bed is very hard and the pillows are very thin.

We chose to stay at Spurs n Lace because it was a good location for a family event we attended in Colorado Springs. The bonus was how walkable the house was to town as well as how comfortable the room and bed were. The house is very well kept and the breakfast of fruit, egg dish and cake dessert were a yummy way to start the day.

The owner met us upon arrival and was both friendly and very welcoming. Our room was comfortable and homey, quite the opposite of many soulless corporate hotel rooms. The breakfast was delicious and presented on china. It also felt good to be supporting a local, woman-owned business.

Enjoyed our 3 night stay. Great Value and so convenient to everything.
Arlene is a great host and her breakfast staff is so friendly and helpful. Would return for another visit. Arkansas!!
