Romantic getaway. Beautiful outside. Nice inside, not perfect. Wall paper was peeling due to the moist weather. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and jacuzzi tub. We wish their had been a desk in the room.

The property is in need of an upgrade. The carpet was torn, the furniture is outdated and uncomfortable, the lamp in bedroom didn't work and the outside sitting area needs to be cleaned up and maintained. The location is wonderful but the owner(s) need to put $$ into the property.

This place could use some love. Super awesome location, within a quick walk to beach but really run down. It's to bad because it could be nice with a bit of remodel. Wallpaper peeling, weird tub. A lot doesn't work. It's just very outdated. It was quiet though. The check in experience was just a bit weird. They have no one on duty at night.

The room was moldy and stunk horribly. The carpet was stained and filthy. The rooms are very dated. The bed was horrible. The fireplace did not operate correctly, just a tiny little flame only. Not worth it at all, the owners should sell this place and let somebody who cares about the property and guest experience take over.

Staff was very helpful and contacted me early to advise me of the office closing at 9pm, was not aware of that.
Room is very old and run down unfortunately, the bathroom fixtures are probably 40 years old and show every day of it. Someone tried to redo the caulk around the bathtub, using chopsticks apparently, so sloppy.
Linens were cleaned but some had old stains on them
One night stay was bearable, cheap room and got what I paid for I guess.

Very nice, peaceful property. I had a suite like room that had 2 rooms and was very spacious. Comfortable bed. Nice jacuzzi tub. Just slightly older looking, but added to the charm. Cute little property all around. Go across the street to Asilomar Conference grounds and have breakfast and wander around the beautiful area there!

Room 101 was pretty gross. Bathroom was not aesthetically maintained. Old and worn floor boards…difficult to look at.
Felt safe there and staff was extremely pleasant. I would definitely stay again, but NOT room 101 đź‘Ž

This property is priced to meet the rough and rugged individual who doesn’t want the standard corporate hotel stay. Its location makes this place as special as it is. You’re next to the Asilomar conference facility and gain access to all they have to offer. Plus there are beautiful hiking trails right outside your door; beach walk or forest stroll. Finally, the Fish Wife restaurant is a quiet walk down the street, so no designated driver needed. I stay here every chance I get - 4 or 5 times a year.

It was the only hotel that rented for just one night during a 3-day holiday weekend.
Nice walk through Asilomar to the beach.

Everything is rundown broken and dated. Windows didn’t fully close. TV didn’t work. Faucets moved and were not fixed to the wall and or sink.

The Rosedale is a very sweet inn. Family owned, they go above and beyond are kind and welcoming. The housekeeping staff is also very nice. Close to the Ocean, its a great choice for a family stay as the rooms are pretty large, and you’ll see deer and fawns in the surrounding area. I suggest!

Looks like the bedding did not get changed before we moved in. Front desk staff was helpful as cleaning crew had gone home for the day. Property is in a great location, but is quite dated.

This was not the best to stay. Very old it’s smelled bad when we walked in the room. Yes a lot of room, but it’s an old place . On one side of the bed an outlet was just hanging out of the wall. For the price you could find something better in the area. The stuff was nice but within 20min of being there. I guess they got a call from our neighbor that we were being loud. We were just unloading our things and kids were checking out the room. So I wouldn’t stay here if you have kids I look like they get a lot of older people who stay here.

We loved the location of this place. Just a short walk to the beach. The room could use some remodeling, but it was clean and comfortable. We had only 2 thin small towels, and when asked for extra towels, staff were questioning the need. That was a little odd. But we enjoyed our stay here.

We do enjoy staying at Rosedale. A little updating would be good. Location is great and front office staff is exceptional!

This property is in significant disrepair. The bed was comfortable but the rest of the furniture in the "luxury suite" was worn, dirty and very uncomfortable. The shower was in need of calk the "patio" was a broken slab of concrete surrounded by dry weeds. When I complained at check out the person said they were waiting for a permit to do a "remodel" to which I replied, do you need a permit to update furniture? I do not recommend this property.

The room was very nice, a bit older, but you could tell they maintain the buildings. The bathroom looked like it had been remodled somewhat recently. The sofa, chair, and curtains were a bit dated, but the room was comfortable. The fireplace was a nice touch. The desk clerk also warned us about all the deer roaming the neighborhood. We saw a group of 8. Glad I knew to watch for them!

This used to be a up kept in. It needs a lot of renovations. Replacement of decor. Our toilet seat cover was cracked and broken. It's sad to see a great location not kept up

There was black mold in the bathroom. We went to check in around 4:30 and our room wasn’t ready. Checkin was 4:00

We enjoyed convenience walk to the beach.

Peeling wallpaper in multiple areas. Back patio area was dirty and unkept. Trash can outside our room was overflowing. Trash outside on grounds and overflowing other areas. Stay was not worth reservation rate.

These rooms are definitely spacious, as we were a party of 4 with plenty of space for us for the weekend. Front desk staff was friendly but didn’t encounter any other staff during our stay. These rooms have more of a cabin feel and could use some definite updates. Wallpaper was peeling in many places, carpet was torn between the two rooms and bathtub was pretty warm in a few places. Both spaces had a plug in air unit which we didn’t even need seeing as it wasn’t too cold or too hot for our stay. There was a faint smell of mold/moisture but seeing as it was so close to the beach and covered by trees it would be hard to avoid that. Beds were comfortable and linens were clean. Our TV satellite somehow stopped working on our first night there but we just turned it off and didn’t even turn it back on the rest of the time. We didn’t spend much time in the rooms, we were out adventuring most of the time. The location was pretty perfect, close to the beaches, tide pools and Cannery Row for all our site-seeing we did. Overall, we would give this about a 3.7 star. Could be better with some needed upgrades but was comfortable enough for us for a nice weekend to the coast.

So many ants in the bathroom, the walls are pealing the floor was broken I almost sprained my ankle on it and had to flip the mattress as I think it was a literal sink hole. I love the location and usually love the property but this room was awful and I think it’s just really dated with times the way they are and money the way it is I understand not being able to do much but for what it costs I would need to pass

Toilet seat broken and wallpaper falling also the rug was in bad condition

Beautiful setting outside. Inside the room was not great. Lots of mildew buildup in shower. I slipped getting in even while holding the bar. Toilet flushes and takes a long time to fill up and is very loud when happening. Loud refrigerator all night. There was a hole in the fitted sheet. I asked it to be changed but it wasn’t. We asked again and were told the maids went home. Told we can do it ourselves. We insisted and the person at the front came to help. But he brought the wrong size sheet. Another thing, I asked for some recommendations where to eat or visit and was told “I don’t know. I’m not familiar”. Someone running a front desk should have more knowledge.

There is a lot to be improved upon. The place is lacking upkeep. Worn carpets, holes in walls, not particularly clean, and wall paper coming off the walls. Glad it was only one night!

This was really cozy place. Chimney, big bathroom, nice neighborhood, close to the ocean and lighthouse. We'd love to come back next time.

The property is good for the price you pay - least expensive hotel near Asilomar conference center. There is a wonderful trail near the property that gives those who walk it a look into the Pacific Grove charm of the past. With the Asilomar Conf. Center right across the street, most of my time was spent enjoying their facilities and the coffee shop there that has good food and adult beverages.

This place is really run down and in serious need of some maintenance. Room smelled bad when I walked in and the jacuzzi bathtub looked so gross I decided not to take a shower. There are some hot I lay dirty tables and chairs outside that I wouldn’t even dare getting close to. The grounds need some serious cleaning as well.
