Great views, comfortable bed, bathroom and shower in desperate need of renovation, smell from the sink drain, breakfast very limit, although good coffee. Pool was nice but a little on the cold side! Lift to the rooms a little sketchy and small! Overall, 4* hotel with a 2* bathroom and breakfast.

The balcony had an amazing view of Mt. Etna and the city. We enjoyed the view a lot, but there were downsides. The beds were super uncomfortable compared to other locations we have been staying. The shower is also very tiny and hard to move around in. The staff was very helpful and friendly the entire time we just prefer not to leave our key everytime we were going out of the hotel. Our air conditioning was leaking in the entrance and the housekeeping ladies made sure to get it fixed for us.

Didn’t like the fact that we didn’t have a hot water kettle or any complimentary items in the room, the shower was very small and the beds were uncomfortable

Incredible pool area - it’s a big reason why we booked. The view is unmatched. Overall the hotel is well-maintained with what appeared to be mostly original furniture annd fixtures including the original turquoise tile bathroom from the 60s/70s (I would guess). The location is perfect: a short walk to the main street with most of the historical sites, restaurants and shopping, and yet perfectly quiet. The view at breakfast is also incredible. Breakfast itself was adequate and included scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, fruit juice, etc. Overall it was charming and unique.

The rooms are a little dated but they have everything you need; are very clean and the staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is minutes from the centre - down a steep hill but it is very short and there are steps. The pool is lovely and the view is stunning.

We had a wonderful stay, but the room was EXTREMELY outdated. Very old style furniture and a shower that felt centuries old and that basically dripped water instead of having a good flow. The swimming pool is wonderfully peaceful but again, could do with some ambient music or more frequent service poolside. Hotel staff were great, always helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic although there's no toaster for bread. We had a balcony with sea view with our room and it was wonderful - but it isn't very private as it connects to all other balconies on the same side with out a few plants dividing. Luckily it was always quiet and we were pretty much always the only ones out there. The room had air con which is great and a fully stocked fridge. Car parking was easy but definitely quite pricey considering its kept on site.

Extremely friendly and professional staff. Very clean hotel.

As others have said, the views are sensational, probably the best in Taormina, pool area is beautiful too. Location is great and the stairs are good for keeping fit but not a great location if you have mobility problems. We are used to older dated traditional Italian hotels and prefer them to more modern properties but this one is definitely going to need some updating asap..namely bathrooms and plumbing! Often unpleasant odours from the drains and water problems were noticed. It’s a place ripe for some renovations but there is definitely charm as is. Most of the staff are friendly but others need to smile more. Breakfast is great and the location of the breakfast tables are again probably the best in Taormina.

Super peaceful with incredible views.

Wonderful place, loved the pool and the hospitality

The property needs a little upgrade as my room was equipped with all older furniture and mattress was very uncomfortable! The bathroom required a major facelift.

Although the hotel offers breathtaking views, I spent 455$ per night for this hotel and the AC barely worked and we didn’t have hot water. We had to shower in cold water. We were there 3 nights. Out of the 3 nights, we had lukewarm water at best 1 night and the other 2 nights cold water. Rooms were a run down. Over all I would not say this hotel is a 4 star hotel and if I base myself only on the hot water and AC situation I would give it 1 star

Some of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Some others at front desk sometimes not helpful and sometimes rude. Bathrooms need updating and small and cramped and showers often not working
Room cleaning nice. Halls with worn carpets
Would not return. Breakfast good. Most of Staff very helpful.

Very clean, lovely staff! A little old fashioned and dated in terms of decor, but lovely pool and fabulous views!

major plus of this hotel was the stunning view from the rooms, pool and terrace restaurant.
Initial thoughts however was the hotel was dated and staff a little grumpy BUT loved that this hotel was above all the hustle and bustle and quickly got used to the flights of steps up and down. Staffed after first encounter were lovely.
The beds are uncomfortable and as mentioned everything a little dated - but that makes it eco-friendly :)
Other negative is that although there is a bar its not a great location and no one congregated there

Very pleasent stay, great location , Short walking distance to all the sites, bus station to Castelmola in front of the hotel , shuttle to the beach, nice breakfast, very friendly and helpfull staff, amazing views of Etna. A really italian atmosphere.

Great location, view was great from the room facing the sea, quiet, and having a pool was a great amenity. Lobby staff were helpful and the house keeping staff did an amazing job. The rest of the staff made you feel like you are troubling them and were unfriendly. The hotel needs to update their rooms. The rooms are tired and the mattresses are hard. Breakfast is ok. Definitely not worth the prices and in my opinion not an 4 star hotel. I would not stay here again.

We had booked quite last minute, so were lucky to find any spaces within Taormina - having visited the town before, we know that accommodation can be eye wateringly expensive, so if you are on a budget then you have to lower your expectations! The hotel is very old fashioned, and desperately in need of a makeover, however the staff are lovely and keep it all clean. The bedroom has comfortable beds and a huge terrace with the most incredible view over the harbour, and the swimming pool at the top of the hotel is wonderful. We didn’t bother with the breakfast after the first day, preferring to walk into the town, which is only five minutes away. In my view the slight shoddiness is all part of the Sicilian experience, if you want hyper modern Holiday Inns then go to Las Vegas, Taormina is not for you!

Great location! Fantastic view (book a room with a balcony and view, it’s well worth the extra cost!). Nice pool with a great view! It came in handy, Taormina is a very hot place! Friendly staff. Breakfast was good but quite repetitive in terms of what they served. Overall very nice experience! Very close to the city center with all its attractions.

Wonderful place to stay when on the east side of Sicily. Fantastic views of the Ionian Sea coastline and Mt. Etna. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was great to have, use, and enjoy the pool.

Stunning views over the coastline and Mount Etna. The fabric of the hotel had seen better days. Our room was basic, with only just ok beds. Breakfast was reasonable. The swimming pool was lovely.

We stayed 5 nights here enjoying stunning views to Naxos Bay and Etna from our terrace. The pool area was also good and with the amazing views. Only a few minutes away from Corso Umberto.

Had a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff were so friendly, nice and service minded. The hotel is perfectly located and just about 5 minutes walk to Corso Umberto. The pool was lovely and breathtaking views. Thanks for a lovely stay! We will return and recommend this beautiful hotel and thanks again to the fine people who work there.

Hotel is a little old fashioned but rather charming, and takes full advantage of its hillside location with fantastic views from public areas and most rooms. Breakfast on the 1st floor terrace was especially pleasurable in this respect, although the best panoramic views are from the roof of the hotel - a shame they don't use this as a bar or restaurant. We booked a 'Garden Room' so didn't expect a view, but it was at the side of the hotel and had a great view across the hills towards Etna.
The hotel is well located on the whole, only a 5 minute walk (down a steep street) from the western end of the main street in Taormina (Corso Umberto), although this does mean that most of the places of interest and restaurants are further east and therefore a 10-15 minute walk away along the pedestrianised street. Note, if you are navigating to the hotel via the map on the App, the location shown is not quite right, so just keep walking a bit further along the street and you'll find it fine.
The room and hotel in general were very clean and the quality of service from staff was very good, particularly at reception. The swimming pool is attractive and a good size, surrounded by loungers, many with great views. We also took advantage of the facilities at the sister hotel on the beach, where we were able to use the sun loungers and umbrellas and enjoy great swimming in the beautiful, warm sea. There is a charge for the taxi to get down there, which takes about 15 minutes.
