Excellent family motel

This little motel is just what we needed in South Tahoe. Off the main drag and walkable to many restaurants for breakfast and dimner. Theoutside is fetting a fresh coat of paint and our room was recently renovated. Very clean, great king mattress and quiet. The proprietor was very friendly and is a hard worker...you can tell by the beautiful lawn! If youre looking for a clean no frills place, this is it!

Hotel contacted me a few times to try and find out when we were checking in. We were traveling so I didn’t have a definitive time, but I knew it wasn’t going to be before 10pm. That was a little annoying because we had a lot going on. When we got there check in was easy enough. Friendly young guy at the front desk. We were a little sketched out at first because there were people congregated outside their rooms drinking and being loud (9pm on a Thursday). I guess it’s to be expected for the price, and luckily they eventually turned in shortly after us. We just needed a quick place to crash for the night because we were planning on climbing lovers leap in the morning, and then heading up to the north side of the lake. Room was dated, not enough pillows imho.. however, it was clean and comfortable enough for one night. All around pretty good considering the price.

Nice and cheap option! Check in was super easy and quick. Easy parking even though we had more cars than allowed.
Would highly recommend and do again!

Great value for money in South Lake Tahoe - clean, modern bedding

Room was clean, but they had some sketchy looking people working for them.

I liked it because it was easy nice and neat

A gem, and a good value for a short stay. Plenty of shopping and eating excursions within a short driving distance. Very quiet location away from the hub-bub and noise of the CA/Nevada border. The facilities were very clean and the staff was attentive, responsive and generous.

Location is great, right next to hwy-50. I was initially concerned about traffic noise, to my surprise i didn't hear much noise. Before we came i was also worried about late check-in. I called frontdest ahead of time, we checked-in around 10:30pm had no problem.

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights and we had a good stay. Room was decent, comfortable and clean. Check in was fast and staff was friendly and very nice to reccomend where to eat & places to go. I would come back here :)

My stay was good. The hotel met my needs of a place to shower and sleep. It great that its right off the main road and that there are plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. The staff was great and the hotel is economical. The only issues i had were that one of the window curtains had what looked to be a red dried mucus and the bathroom had 2 or 3 stains/smears on the door of a bug being smashed and not wiped off. Also my phone reception (A Tea and Tea) did not work inside the room. I had to go across the parking lot, where the grass area is at to get service. But other than that, my stay was good.
3.9
It was seamless.

Property Owners are on site and very personable.I will book again next time I am in town.

Property was at an easy location

We checked in and stayed in our room for just a few hours and ended up leaving the same night and checking into another hotel. The beds were the absolute worst, squeaky springs and rock hard beds with awful pillows. The a/c was not working properly and we could not cool the room off. Drove down the mountain from Tahoe to Minden and stayed there. The rooms were fairly updated and the surrounding were quite beautiful but would never stay here again.
3.9
This place was nice enough. Staff was friendly.

High Country Lodge was a wonderful pivot from our horrible earlier experience at the Emerald Bay Lodge. The room was perfect for our needs. Traveling with my 5yr old granddaughter and son the King/double bed combo worked for us. We really enjoyed our stay.
3.9
Property has nice interior and is nearby to stores in the area, has nice location amidst the trees. No complaints!
3.9
Expensive for the quality of stay ($200/night). Dusty curtains and carpet, torn insect screen, broken coffee machine, paid for three people but only one coffee pouch was left… The place generally looked run down. Friendly staff though.
3.9
This place was just fine! Fridge, microwave, comfortable bed! Air conditioning/ heat was a little funky/ hard to use. Not a huge deal.

Received a message that check in was from 4pm-6pm it was very incovinient due to the fact that it disrupted our plans. We had to leave the beach get in our car wet check in then continue with what we were doing. Also cleanlyness could be better bathroon floor had dirt also the carpet in the entrance was dirty.
3.9
Good price. Clean and in the area that we like.
3.9
I did not stay here. I would like my money back. I work nights and was attempting to stay here but they would not have a room available till 4 pm which does me no good. I would only be in the room for a short time. So I understand their situation but If I only sleeping in there for 1.5 hours it does not help me.
3.9
Very well maintained older hotel. Easy check-in - ensured all rooms were non-smoking. Clean, comfortable, and overall very quiet area!

We really liked the property overall. The rooms were a bit dated in a couple of things, but in general was surprisingly nice. The front desk manager was super friendly, and even brought Ice directly to us since the machine was down. He made us feel warm and welcome to the property, and we could tell took pride in what he did. If you're looking for a nice, pleasant place to stay (in walking distance of a few nice restaurants) , this may be the place for you.

I booked this place at the last minute due to road closures on my original planned route.
Great price, hassle-free check-in and an immaculate, comfy and up to date room, recently renovated I'd say.

Quiet. Comfy. Easy Check-in. Clean. Fast wifi. Stoked
