Average room, good food and service

Heard a lot bad about this place but was genuinely not too bad. Had a two night stay for work and bed was comfortable, room had a TV with Netflix, Youtube etc. Night staff seemed a bit blunt however day staff were lovely. Didn’t get chance to try restraint / bar but the area looked really nice. Only issue is distance from town centre. No taxis were available including uber and the walk is roughly 30 minutes.
3.7
Needs a refurb and update. Staff were lovely.
3.7
Tired old place but was comfortable, room was ok for the price. Food is average and the staff were more interested in the Euro football on TV than the customers. We ate late due to travel and the kitchen staff just wanted watch the football, on arrival the receptionist was sitting in front of the TV, clearly the place has no effective manager.
3.7
The WiFi at the property is virtually non-existent and phone signal is terrible, therefore we felt really isolated while staying there.
The staff were friendly and chatty and made up for a less than ideal hotel stay. They are a credit to the company
3.7
Good stay but not enough plugs in the room
3.7
Put only thing that I could say good about this place is the beds are very clean, but the hotel itself is not nice
3.7
I had read some awful reviews about the Wishing Well but our family booked 3 rooms, one was a family room. All were basic but all were spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
We didnt eat here but did use the bar which looked as if it had been recently updated.

I stay here when visiting my mum. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

pleasantly surprise at the level of service. can't fault it at all.

We arrived the room key didn’t work went back to reception got another card still had problems with it got in after 20 try’s I booked a double room got 2 single beds one bed was broken and they used a mattress in bed base to hold it up one skinny pillow , tv didn’t work all units are dated and egpealing off
3.7
Staff were brilliant they sorted my problem out i woud definitely recommend this hotel
3.7
The room smelt of smoke! The road noise was awful. The mattress was so thin you could feal every spring and that smelt of smoke. Room 36 needs a deep clean and better windows. How every manages this hotel (room) needs re training!!!!

Good service good hotel quiet very nice would recommend

The check in was done by a sad person who thought thd end of the day was closer but realised she had yo come back thd next day. The rooms were clean and well laid out. The furniture looked from the 60s and was in a state of disrepair from that decade as well. The beds were like a trampoline, soft and so bouncy my wife nearly hit the roof when sitting down. Carpet looked better than a dogs dinner but not by much. The single ply toilet paper allowed me to give myself a prostate exam. We asked for a double bed but got two singles, just like the first time i visited the wife's parents, thanks for that memory. Overal, an expensive experience, one which we will not repeat unless the Russians invade and force us to.
3.7
The room felt grubby and dated. The carpet had stains all over it. The bathroom had a strange smell. The mattress was the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on in my life. Felt like it was found in a skip. The windows don’t keep any noise out so all I could hear was cars and people downstairs at the bar. Stayed for a few nights and would never stay again.
3.7
Bedroom was fine but traffic noise was a real issue.
3.7
Had to request to move rooms as our original room had a strange odour was told that the room had a smoking charge on it the night before and the odour was from what was used to disinfect the room, the receptionist moved us with no problem but surely the room should not have been allocated until the odour had gone the replacement room was better as there was no odour but had to request a plug hole plug for the wash basin the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall plus the curtains were hanging off the track we stayed in the hotel a few years ago and feel it has gone down hill and needs some money spent on it
3.7
Tired scruffy property in need of refurbishment. Restaurant service poor due to lack of staff.
3.7
The room was tired and not clean.the bathtap was defective. In the morning we were advised that breakfast would be an hour to wait due to staff shortage.the staff were unhelpful and were not interested when asked about the above. Quite simply a substandard hotel.
3.7
The rooms were clean and comfortable, but basic.
The carpets in the corridors are worn and tired, which let it down as an overwll impression.
Restaurant and bar was welcoming and plenty of variety to eat.
3.7
THE ROOM WAS VERY BASIC AND THE FULL ENGLISH BREAFAST WAS TERRIBLE. THE BACON WAS HARD AND PLASTICLY,SAUSAGE TASTELESS,MUSHROOMS WHERE TINNED AND COFEE INSTANT. FOR £10 IT WAS A RIP OFF
3.7
the room we had no.12 needs updating. had to have windows open as no air condition. there is a heater on the wall for winter time. we also fear the bed has bed bugs as both of us had bite marks on our arms and legs. restaurant and bar and breakfast was excellent.
3.7
The wishing well is a very basic hotel. I had the suite, which was clean. The room was large, basic, and well worn and dated. The bathroom was modern, with good water power, it was large but sparse. Good towels
The mattress was of poor quality, being able to feel the springs. I had to sleep on the duvet doubled up.
3.7
It's a 3 star hotel with 5 star friendliness and service. The furniture is functional but not fresh anymore (e.g. veneer broken or missing).
3.7
Dirty and unhygienic.poor service and horrible food.I was up all night being sick. Never stay there again.
3.7
Positives: spacious room. Helpful reception. Ample parking.
Negatives: Bedsheet torn. Carpets not clean. Toilet roll holder coming off the wall. separate taps with hot and cold water in basin not convenient. Floor creaking. Not value for money.
3.7
Never again

Our stay was a pleasant experience. Friendly staff and clean room.

Great location, picked the Wishing Well as close to where I was working. Very friendly and helpful staff from reception to bar staff will be staying again

Our room (No 1) was a standard room advertised with air conditioning/climate control, wifi and a hair dryer. It had none of these and only 1 pillow on one of the beds although this was quickly rectified by the helpful receptionist. Fortunately it wasnot as hot as it has been of late. Although not their fault we also had no phone signal at all on 2 different networks. A good value hotel, somewhere to break a journet not a destination in itself.
3.7
The furnishings and carpets were old and tired. The wardrobe was inadequate, all of my dresses were trailing on the floor because the rail was so low. The tv remote didn't work either

It is a cheap stay hotel you get what you pay for. We found the mattress on the bed a bit too soft for us but that was more about us than the mattress. Only complaint I had was the loud foul-mouthed people staying in adjacent rooms who obviously had no thought for people trying to sleep at midnight. Thankfully they must have passed out drunk after about 10 minutes so didn't bother complaining. Would I stay here again I probably would Ive been in worse and payed more.
