This is a eco-focused resort spa. very relaxing.

The staff was super friendly. The rooms were perfect. Keep in mind this is a super eco friendly hotel. And still no quality difference between this and any other 5 star hotel. In fact, I can say with no hesitation for our choice of experience it was better than the Fairmont in San Francisco.

When you are there it is so easy to relax.
A whole other world

Excellent property, the rooms are 4 diamonds quality and the grounds are beautiful! Friendly staff from the time you checked in.

The garden, nurseries and the pool are very seren and beautiful. Catch a canoe was fun.

A little be disappointed between the pool picture and the reality. I think you could had more plants like it’s shown in the brochure

The wood burning fireplace is a very nice touch. Room was clean and laid out nicely. To top it off there's a nice deck with an ocean view for watching sunrises and sunsets. We will be back.

We had an ocean view from our balcony, along with a beautiful view of the grounds. The fire place in the room was amazing to snuggle up by at night. The beds were comfy. The vegan restaurant on site was amazing. And the completely vegan chocolate chip cookies in the room, well I think I’ll be dreaming about those the most.

Maintenance and amenities have suffered a bit

A very pleasant hotel. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
The food is vegan and very good.

For the price we paid we received NOTHING to be worth the money.Fridge was empty. Fire place was broken down.
No maids coming to clean the room, which in the case of Covid, its understandable. However, the hotel could always compensate other things for the room to make the clients happy. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Overall it’s a lovely place. It seems to be tailored for older people without families. It would be perfect to come back by myself without my family. Or for a couple to come that is health-conscious.
Our son enjoyed seeing the horses, donkeys, llamas. And we enjoyed being able to have our dog on the property.
There are a few strange things that we experienced. For example, they seemed strict about having reservations for the restaurant but when we ate there hardly anyone was there. Also on Saturday night there was atalented pianist playing serious Avant garde, moody music. It seems like the place could be lightened up a little as I saw a few families there with kids.
Also the hostess on Saturday evening at the Ravens restaurant was rude and unwelcoming. She looked at us and asked if we had a reservation and we said that we did and we apologized for being five minutes late and she looked at her book and said yes, you are late. It just seems like a family owned inn would be more warm and welcoming than that. There was no smile or her saying welcome.
Also, the vegan restaurant menu was delicious. I would ask the owners to consider that there are a lot of people with autoimmune diseases today- autoimmune diagnoses are at an all-time high now. This means that many people now have food allergies for which gluten, beans, and soy are unhealthy.
Overall, the property is lovely. We enjoyed the gardens and the farm aspect. And the other patrons were quiet and kind.

The rooms looked as great as the pictures on the website. Spacious, clean, and the decor was fabulous. We loved the plant-based restaurant. You must have the sea palm & root vegetable strudel. Dinner and breakfast were great -- and great views.
I appreciate the attention to the safety of hotel guests - masking on the property and vaccination required to eat in the restaurant. I felt so safe throughout my stay.

It was a very nice place to stay in the area, probably top 1 or 2. The rooms very were very nice and warm as it was cold there. I have stayed at many other places in Mendocino and this was by far better than any others I have stayed.

Perfect stay for our honeymoon. Laid-back, cozy and relaxing. The fireplace is an incredible touch that took our chilly evenings to the next level. The greenhouse pool and spa were for sure my favorite part - so magical. All the staff were really nice and of couse the vegan restaurant was delicious... and a huge relief knowing we didn't need to scrounge up vegan options. Can't wait to come back.

The place is charming, with lovely décor, ambiance and landscaping. The bed was wonderful. Loved that it is pet friendly. I was not informed that the on site restaurant is vegan. Dinner the first night there, when I was too tired and hungry to go find another place to eat, made me sick. Loved the in room fireplace, but could not reach the microwave, because it was in a cabinet too high for me to reach. The handheld shower head was also too high for me to reach. (I am 5'1" tall.) Be sure to bring slippers or flip flops as the wood and tile floors are really cold in the middle of the night. Their Wi-Fi did not work on my iPhone 8 with Verizon. Only 2 restaurants open in Mendocino after the pandemic, so long wait times for meals.

The location is unbeatable.

We love this place so very much! We will go back again and again. The view of the ocean, the canoeing on the river and fireplace have us hooked.

Anywhere you stay in Mendocino is expensive. I don’t know why that is but it’s true. Our stay was lovely and so if you are gonna spend so much money on a hotel you may as well spend it here. No complaints whatsoever.
4.5
It was OK, the couple before us got a pretty long explanation of how to order breakfast and the full experience while we were handed an envelope and explained "3rd party buyers" so I think there's some bias. We didn't get the breakfast or wine that is stated. The 'coastal' view is pretty far given you see mostly the garden grounds and the people walking around. Not quite the views I wanted, not worth the extra price for the coastal view versus garden view.
4.5
This resort is in a beautiful setting and very peaceful and serene. The foot is vegan and amazing! They give you a huge breakfast with your stay. One of the best beaches in the area is within walking distance. Highly recommended!
4.5
The property was actually located on the river with distant views of the ocean. What was unclear when booking is that this is a vegan resort. Very, very disappointed in this property especially with the premium pricing. We found the staff arrogant and pretentious. Restaurant was mediocre at best, not very creative, poorly seasoned meals.
4.5
Last minute booking, surprising for the staff but they upgraded us, that was nice.
This place is beautiful so green everywhere, view of the ocean, they have animals like donkeys, they give you wood to every room, you can make a fire in your room what is very nice. Free parking and WiFi. We didn’t try the pool or the restaurant who is totally vegan. The room was clean and comfortable. Maybe next time for a romantic week end.

Keep in mind that this Inn is Vegan! Everything at the Restaurant are vegan!
Once in a while we like to stay in a nice place this was one of them, we enjoyed staying with bedroom with seating on front of the fire place, water view from the large balcony, bed and pillows are very comfortable, the bedroom is large with a lots of room to move around
My only complaint is they didn't have a real wine glasses in the room for a place, of that price range they should have everything how its suppose to be. My recommendation change the little glasses to a real wine glasses even if its only for white wine it will make you look better. If you are not Vegan , the breakfast is going to be tough for you. I loved the fresh juice, but the waffle and pancake are way too dry especially the waffle is very dry, the muffin is actually very nice and moist . I love the soy creamer on my coffee thanks for that now I switch to soy creamer for my daily coffee at home.

I like the vegetarian food, and the electric car chargers.
