Absolutely amazing motel. Would stay there again and is a great option for anyone wanting a room close to Universal Studios.

Smelled like pee and was very dirty

Very friendly staff, nice and clean room. Worth the price price

Horrible stay, got in late our restroom toilet didn’t work. Management didn’t help of considering comping our stay or even move us rooms.

First off let’s start with the good. It’s close like walking distance to universal. Which is why we picked it and it’s very clean. Now that being said the “shuttle” you have to walk to. It’s not something that comes to the hotel like I thought. Also charging 55$ a day to park your car! Is crazy to me! Like on top of already staying. There the extra charge is just something I never. Would’ve thought would be extra smh. For sure we will stay somewhere else after spending. A little over 1400 you would think I could park my car there. That would all be included in everything. The staff was very sweet and our stay was decent. Just irritated about the whole care thing to be honest.

For a 3.5 star hotel I was not impressed. They are in the middle of renovations and it is obvious why. For the daily rate it was tacky at best. It’s old and although the room was “clean” the walls and furnishings are worn out. Very sparse accommodations.

It was is walking distance to Universal Studios shuttle bus. And a couple of restaurants. Had the double queen suite plenty roomy. Could use some touch ups are far as appearances.Like the lamp in my room was damaged but they still left it in the room and the tile work in the bathroom needs some help, beds were very squeaky. No ice maker on the second floor so i had a little journey for ice. Lots of traffic noise and traffic in front of the building. If i stayed agin i would upgrade to the presidental suite. And ask to be on the 3rd floor. We were lucky enough to find a single parking spot so we didn't have to double stack park and leave the keys with the front desk but because of the traffic and parking we decided to walking so we wouldn't have to deal with it.

'Walking distance to Universal' is a stretch. We did walk, but more than half of the walk is up a steep hill. Right before check in, I got an email saying the rooms are under renovation so they don't look like the pictures. The room was very bare, which is fine, but everything seemed cheaply done. The bathroom was sort of updated though the cabinets were well worn and bashed up. In short, we paid WAY too much for this room. It should be around $100/night and we paid triple that. The staff was nice though. Maybe once it's renovated it will be worth staying there?

On the website it said cots were available, but when we got there, they said our room was too narrow for one. This was not listed anywhere on the website. We requested extra blankets and pillows to makeshift a bed. We were given extra blankets, then they said they would go get pillows and be right back. They never came back, so we went downstairs to ask again. The woman was rude and said they didn't have any extra pillows at all on the whole property. The next morning around 8am, however, room service was happy to give us 4 extras.
Room was smaller than we thought. We recieved an email only after checking in saying that the room would look different from pictures because of a remodel, which was misleading. The room was not super clean and the bathroom door opened into the front door.
Of the amenities listed on the website, there wasn't a "deli" nor a "cafe" on site. I also didn't see a 24-hour fitness center. The pool was locked and in the parking garage. The in-house store charged $7 for a bottle of water. For a tip, there is a Ralph's market just two blocks down. Shop there instead to avoid more price gouging.
For $300 a night, you would think it would be nicer. It is honestly probably considered false advertising, but I'm not a professional on that front.
The only positive was the proximity to starbucks (since they didn't have a cafe on site) and Universal Studios.

BLvD were great and responsive.

Checkin was weird. After checking in we had to wait for the front desk to run up and physically check if our room was ready. Took 25 min that it was “ready” we got there around 530pm. The pool was freezing cold. Rooms were dark going for a modern look but missed the mark. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and the bartender was great. Not the staffs fault but I felt they were understaffed and hotel process not managed correctly by owners.

Great location for Universal Studios. Within easy walking distance. Parking available. Room was a great size, with a good configuration.

Everything was great and the staff were super friendly especially the Turkish lady she was soo soo sweet! Hope to see her again next time! She deserves a raise and she helped us out with everything and getting us checked in as well! Very grateful for the staff as well.
Overall i recommend this place alot if you are planning to go to universal studios theme park, very convenient and the walk to the shuttle is only 7-8 mins far if your walking! Last but not least greatest hotel in LA in my opinion and super affordable.

Spent 875 dollars for two nights to enjoy horror nights. Arrived to find out parking wasn’t free it’s 30 dollars per night. Also the parking stalls are really inconvenient, two cars per lane and the person who blocks you in has to leave their keys at the desk. Or if you don’t block someone in someone will block you in and you have to have staff move their car. Again this is 30 bucks a night parking, doesn’t come with the 875 for 2 nights. Bar was closed the majority of the time I was there. Toilet got clogged from poor maintenance I’m sure. Showers had extremely low water pressure and the tv was very difficult to figure out being that it didn’t have a guide or menu. Also on my last morning there the person in the room above me was walking back and forth pacing in the room and it felt like an earthquake in my room not allowing me to sleep, when I called the desk to see if they could ask that person to stop the stomping continued so I just got up and left. Terrible hotel for almost 900 bucks. I will not be returning.

Good time and fun good place tacos next door great

What is advertised is NOT what you get. The photos are WAY nicer than what is being offered at the hotel.
This hotel has good reviews on Hotels.com (did my research, thought we booked at a OK hotel, but definitely not the case) and like i said the photos advertising this property definitely do not match what is actually there.
Also, there is no lock on your balcony door, just a stick to prevent the door from opening.
We felt so unsafe at the hotel, that we immediate left after checking in. Would not recommend at all.

Safe place in LA to stay and be able to walk to nearby restaurants and shops.

To start, the staff we interacted with were lovely and very friendly. The location was perfect for our needs. The beds comfortable.
For the not so great- the room we reserved was not in fact available. We reserved a two king bed standard and upon arrival were told they were not open. We were given a two queen “presidential suite”, which while nice, meant they charged us extra, even with a discount.
The plugs mostly did not work because they were all so loose. The sink were designed so oddly that washing hands was no simple task and the rain shower was in a weird spot and the water luke warm at best.
3.4
The room was clean and quiet. You can walk to City Walk in 10-15 minutes. The staff were nice and very friendly…

The rooms are very nice and clean. The only thing my family and I did not like was the shower. If you don’t have instructions on how to operate it, you’ll be stuck trying to figure out how to turn it on for a while.
3.4
Overall the stay was pretty average. Our room did not come with a “do not disturb” sign and when we asked for one at the front desk they politely accommodated quickly. The curtain to the shower was far too short and the curtain kept blowing towards and into the water while showering. Showering with the light off in the bathroom was my solution since the fan automatically turns on with the light switch in there. The bed was comfortable and I did enjoy the microwave and mini fridge available in the room. I did not enjoy having to share a balcony and having a joint door to another hotel room connecting to mine. There was also no central A/C or heating available. There were still utilities to accommodate for temperature customization in the room.
3.4
Very comfy beds, good bathroom, no problem arriving late. Great location for Universal Studios.

The hotel was the same hotel that I stayed in four years ago and I did not notice until I arrived at the destination. It was just okay, only a bar, no food and the rooms were just again okay not too comfortable.
3.4
At check in at 6:30pm we were given a room key. 2 king suite with balcony. Upon opening door it had not been cleaned. Bed unmade, twenty or more used q-tips next to microwave. Towels with food leftovers on bed and floors, trash can overflowing in middle of room. When we went back to front desk I was told they only had a lesser value room with 1 bed left. I asked for the room I paid for to just be cleaned and we would wait in lobby. I was informed that there was no housekeeper on duty and the man at desk was only staff present. I said I was not going into a 1 bed room with 4 people when I paid for the two king suite. He said to wait and 20 minutes later we were given another two king room. But without a balcony. The room was spacious but the hallways and elevator smelled of urine.

Ok

Great location in proximity to Universal Studios. A bit miss leading with the walking distance. Half of the walk is straight uphill which the average person would struggle with. It was fairly close to a shuttle which helped eliminate the hill. Currently under renovations and if it keeps going the way it has started this will be a very nice hotel.
3.4
Clean and a great deal. Staff was friendly.
3.4
Very close to Universal Studios c. 5 mins to the free shuttle or you could walk another 10 mins if you didn't want to use the shuttle. Metro (red line) also 5 mins away. Some restaurants near the property e.g. Panda Express, Subway, In and Out Burger and a Ralph's supermarket that was good value. Easy parking at the hotel. Good sized fridge in the room and microwave. We found other guests a bit loud on our floor, but that was infrequent. Pool is small and unheated (in the car park) so it was very cold even in August!

Very comfortable and clean. Staff was very friendly. Good safe area to be in.

I enjoyed staying at BLVD Hotel & Studios although I have a few cons.. Let's start with the pros first...
Pros:
*It is a quick walk to Universal Studios.
*The staff is amiable.
*The rooms are clean.
*Quick and easy check-in.
*Reasonable room prices.
*Close to a variety of restaurants within walking distance.
*The neighborhood was decent.
*They have a bar and lounge area onsite.
*Free Mocktail - not cocktail. This can be a con for those who like to drink.
Cons:
*Parking is not free ($34 a night).
*Pool area is not that clean on the walls and ceilings. It reminds me of being in jail or something. It is an enclosed pool area. The pool goes up to 4ft I believe.
*The shower head in the bathroom did not work that great.
Overall, I would stay here again. The cons were not deal breakers for me. Although, if I were going to use the swimming pool to swim, I'd suggest looking into another hotel. As for the shower, there are two showerheads; 1 above you and 1 handheld piece. So, we could still shower even though the handheld one did not work.
3.4
Great spot right next to universal. Made everything convenient
3.4
Hotel undergoing renovations but was not made aware of this or difference in room booked from photos until after check in.
3.4
Area isn’t the best - it’s right off the highway and there are some sketchy people wandering around at all hours of the day. While it says “walking distance to Universal,” I wouldn’t feel safe walking to/from Universal. Other than that, the inside feel is pretty bare. The floors were dirty, and it AC could have been better.
3.4
Very hard to turn on the shower, called but no one came to help until after I figured it out by myself.
3.4
nice little hotel. close to restaurants and a shopping center. 10 minute walk to the shuttle stop for Universal studios.
3.4
Huge rooms!
3.4
Near food but under going construction , pillows are uncomfortable and beds are low
3.4
The room smelled like moister/mold, there was water leaking from the fridge and when walking around the room the water seeped from the cracks in the flooring. I attempted to call the front desk and no one answered. When I went downstairs to show the video and pictures, he simply said "we will check it out" and continued his smoke break. The lighting was flickering and not working for the bathroom and hotel room. The pool was not heated and the hotel was under construction so most access to amenities was cut off. Definitely will not be staying there again. It would have been nice to know the hotel was under construction.
3.4
I tried emailing the property but noresponse , asking them if there is breakfast, The parking fee is not even explain. We are the guest they should privide free parking .
