It was a great stay. I do believe is expensive for what it offered. Could not use hot tub, it was under construction. Dinner was around 60 per person, not too many options. Friendly staff. Free breakfast, not too many options.

Great place to see the northern lights

The service was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Greta restaurant and breakfast. However, I did encounter a small issue with the shower. It would be great if there was a shower door to prevent water from spilling onto the sink area.

I highly recommend staying here due to its proximity to popular locations, allowing you to visit during less crowded times. The room was delightful, the breakfast was superb, and the convenience was unmatched.

This guy is a beautiful property. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the older buildings. Room was well furnished. Please note that the bathroom was VERY small, about 5’ square and the shower in it about 3’ square. We were ok with it since you spend most of your time outside. The lobby is spacious and beautiful. The restaurant is very large and was able to accommodate the large amount of guests for breakfast. The assortment and quality of the breakfast was the best we have had in our two weeks in Iceland. The property is slightly outside Vik with expansive grounds and very peaceful.

Beautiful interior, restaurant is great, buffet breakfast was high quality. Would recommend.

We spent one night at Hotel Katla. We had a slight problem with the heat in the room, which was quickly resolved. All other details of the room were excellent. Staff was responsive and friendly. Breakfast was great!

Nice hotel. Very good food, both dinner and breakfast. Only downside is view to the parking area. Otherwise hotel surroundings are beautiful.
5.0
Nice hotel with good breakfast, hot tub, and fairly close to Vik.

I liked the serenity of the location & pro environment green efforts of the hotel. Lighting system inside room can be developed more.

This hotel is just beautiful. Very convenient, just at the road #1, 5 min from Downtown Vik. The room was amazing, clean, beautiful. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Love it! Definitively I will book this one again for sure.

No shampoo or conditioner, no body lotion, not many amenities for the price of the hotel. No phone in room, no room service, wifi very slow.

Overall it was just OK. The room was fine. The bathroom was not clean. The breakfast was good. It has an outdoor hot tub and sauna, but both were too small for the size of the hotel. It wasn't a great value for the price, even compared to other hotels in Iceland.
3.0
Rooms was tiny with no space to maneuver.
Breakfast options were above average.
I got charged some idon'tknowwhat tax upon check-in.. Pricey overall. If staying in the area, you're probably better off spending the money to find something in Vik.

Beautiful location! The room was spacious and the breakfast buffet was wonderful.

Like a ski lodge. Attractive, serviceable, lovely outdoor hottub, great buffet dinner and breakfast

Great place to stay as a base for exploring Iceland. Breakfast was excellent and lots of choices!

Good location, good breakfast. Room tiny, bathroom tinier. Shower was spilling water all over the bathroom floor. Service staff was courteous and ready to serve.

This was my second time staying at Katla Hotel, which should show how great of a place it is to stay.
The rooms are spacious and offer a nice ambience following a day of exploration.
The breakfast is amongst my favourite in all of my stays in Iceland.
And the staff is friendly & informative.

This place was great. Rooms were larger than I was expecting which was great for two friends traveling. The breakfast was included in the cost of the room which was so nice since there is not a whole lot of options out in Vik. Service was top notch and helpful. Our room was SO HOT tho but once we asked the front desk for a fan and we placed it in the window we were good. Would definitely recommend.

Full Blackout curtains finally. Staying in Iceland during Summertime and not being able to see light was glorious. Great location just outside Vik with gorgeous views and convienience to pop into the city 7mins away was great. Hot tub could have been warmer but great to have on site. Bar/restaurant on campus was great and overall quiet was perfect calmness.

Such an incredible hotel! The breakfast was excellent and had a wide variety of food options. Access to the sauna and hot pool was super relaxing after a long day of driving. Highly recommend staying here especially if you don't want to stay right in Vik. It was a short 5 min drive into town.

Hotel was nice and breakfast was excellent too. Only shower water was not hot and pressure was very low. It was hard to take shower in cold weather without hot water.

Overall a nice hotel, but the disconnected buildings are a bit of a pain if it rains (which rarely ever happens, of course). Liked the hot tub and European-style sauna, but management didn’t pay attention to towels in need of re-stocking.

Very calm, large room. Excellent breakfast!

Outstanding views, super clean, and I did not have any issues during my stay. I highly recommend it, but I paid a lot compared to other places, book in advance to get better prices.

Our room was comfortable and clean. We were happy it had black out curtains and a mini-fridge. Soaking in the hot tub was extremely relaxing. The breakfast was AMAZING! What a great selection! The lobby and bar area had a nice space to hang out. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
4.0
Clean, modern, good breakfast. Walls were thin, and the doors in hallway kept slamming making it a bit noisy. Overall good experience
2.5
Great experience. Rooms were very large and spacious. Can’t say enough good things about the included breakfast and optional dinners—amazing quality and taste. Location was great too—out of the busiest tourist areas in Vik, but close to all the spots you want to see.
3.0
The room is too small the bed small , for the price that I paid is too much

Road was flooded and shut down. No other route to take. Hade to sleep in car as we hade to drive 15 hours back so we could catch our flight. No notice that there was no way of getting to hotel. Is refund available?

Card key did not workto get into room. Master card key did not work. Told us to come back and they would fix it. They gave us a regular key to get in. Problem was we could not lock the door once we were inside. Eventually they gave us another room. Very inconvenient since I had unpacked and taken a shower.

Best food in all the places we stayed. Dinner buffet was fantastic.

This place was great! Staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. The food was fantastic and one of the better locations we have eaten and stayed at. Facility was nice and fairly clean. Shower tile and tile around toilet was wet upon check. Drinks at the bar were spendy, but overall it was a pleasant stay.
5.0
Beautiful locations, comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast. Also, the sauna and hot tub were great after a long day.
3.0
Smug staff. Buildings look like sheds. You are staying in a sheep field. Shower pours water all over the bathroom floor. Terrible lighting. Good beds. Hot tub is an old cement pool that is chipped and dingy. Breakfast is good. Good coffee. Would have liked some smoked salmon with breakfast like other hotel we stayed at. Vik on whole is a tourist trap and overpriced. If we come back will skip Vik.
