Please be aware, the place has homeless people coming there in the evening. The shared bathrooms are dirty, had shavings all over. I was afraid for my mom with what looked like addicts/homeless people all around the area and at the place. After paying for the room and paying for parking and going out till the evening before bringing my stuff in, I felt uncomfortable/unsafe there. I dropped the keys off and checked out, booking a better place the night of...

As expected from a budget hostel. Nothing more, nothing less. No surprises.

Private room with ensuite was spacious, quiet, comfortable and spotless. Staff from reception to housekeeping were friendly and efficient.

Had a really comfortable stay. Good Bed and a good price. Happy to stay again.

Staff were lovely, parking was a pain until I knew of paid secure parking. Only problems there isn't much for children to do there and no nearby parks. Also there was a permanent smell in the woman's toilets on G level. Overall though great for a tempory stay. Don't forget to label your food 😉

The common kitchen was terrific. But the only problem was the room which dodnt have a toilet and the size was too small for the price .

Handy location. Walking distance to Central Market, library, museum and many coffee shops. Recommend Elementary Coffee which is a couple streets down. We stayed in a private with ensuite and it was everything we needed. Had never stayed in a hostel before and as the mom of 20 somethings thought it was all dorms. It’s not and there were others my age or older.

I booked a single room which was lovely, own bathroom too. Didn’t want dorm room cause I hate top bunks !However only two out of the four washing machines were working :(
Building is maze like inside, nice and quite at night.
Located right across street from Adelaide bus station.

it was the worst dormitory hostel experience I have ever had. From the moment I arrived, everything was wrong.
The check-in process was slow and inefficient. The hostel staff was rude and unhelpful.
When I finally got to my dorm room, I was horrified. It was filthy. The beds were unmade, the sheets were dirty, and the floor was covered in crumbs. There was even a cockroach crawling on the wall.
I asked about lockers, and they told me that there were lockers in the dorm room, but they didn't have locks. I was shocked. How could they expect guests to keep their belongings safe if the lockers didn't have locks?
I was so exhausted that I decided to just try to sleep. But it was impossible. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was noisy, and I couldn't stop thinking about the cockroach.
I checked out first thing in the morning and went to a different hostel. I would never recommend this hostel to anyone. It is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in.

I stayed in a single room at YHA for 5 nights and really enjoyed my experience. All staff were super friendly and happy to help wherever they could. Having staff available at all hours of the day was also handy. The shared kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and salt/pepper, and there was always room to cook alongside other guests. Travelling for work, I particularly enjoyed the number of spaces available for me to work when I needed a change of scenery. Wifi was also excellent. Room was very large and clean, and the shared bathroom was also clean (despite a number of showers being out of order, I never had to wait for facilities). Highly recommend the YHA as an affordable, comfortable accommodation option!

Nice affordable clean ensuite room but the bed is abit too hard with no fridge or microwave in the room. Noise outside the room is generated from communal toilet which could be located away from private room as it disturbed one’s sleep.

Great location for the bus to the airport, clean and quiet.

Staff always provide excellent customer service.
Cleanliness is great but could be slightly improved in the shared bathrooms.

The revolting man on when I went in the night after to extend my stay muttered something from the hotel about Jewish heritage and my ancestry because I timidly and politely asked him to check to see if I was booked in correctly and he refused to even look and I reported it to the Australian Government Solicitor now and you should give me 2 weeks free accommodation because of the disgusting despicable customer service from someone that is probably jilted Mossad.

Great hostel and location. Had an ensuite room with view over the park. Nice bed and great facilities. Kitchen is a bit of a mess when I was there and people not doing dishes but other than that friendly reception team and nice place. Close to the bus stop to/from the airport.

I guess the word Hostel says it all!
Very basic rooms even though it was meant to be a double room with an ensuite. The price I pain I could’ve got an actual hotel room with a lot more benefits!
One double bed and two bunks in the room. You get one little round cake of soap for four people so you wouldn’t all want to be really dirty having a shower!
There are no tissues to be found anywhere.
No coathangers to hang anything up and where you can hang something is not even a cupboard door.
Pillows and bed were pretty average.
Air-conditioner is operated by downstairs at the reception so you have to pick one temperature for the whole time you’re there.
If anything it was an inconvenience all round.
Definitely wouldn’t stay there again and definitely wouldn’t pay $140 a night!!!
And you can always hear hotel door slams shot can’t you….. even at the end of the hallway you can still hear everyone coming and going.

Nice enough however, a staff member came into the room I was staying in while I was napping, and told me off for not using a sheet, then demanded that I fill out the census form. After that I was evicted.

I chose YHA because they would have Covid cleaning protocol in addition to property standards.
YHA has started accepting long-term guests out of financial necessity, and the common areas starting to resemble resemble a dingy backpackers. Fridges not being cleaned/cleared. All the crockery has been hoarded by long-termers. Beer cans left for a couple of days before finally making it to the bin. Stinky work boots left in corridors.
The mirror in my private room was smeared with handprints. Cleaning protocol?
Reception service quite slow. The lady remarked she was 'flat chat' - she moved at snails' pace and didn't know how to triage requests!
Solutions: separate short stays and long stays into separate wings/floors. Designate 1/2 fridge for short stay use (1 week or less). Kitchens to be cleaned twice daily. Limit fridge use to 1 bag per long stay guest.

Pros: prime location, huge kitchen (very clean and organised), big common area, clean bathrooms
Cons: no individual power points in dorms (this is a MUST have), dorm was hot at night (aircon was off and only the reception has control over it), no 24h reception, a lot of people staying long-term and not interested in interacting with other guests, so the hostel lacks an atmosphere.

I like that breakfast is provided and that the commons area was plenty spacious with even TV and study rooms available.I just wish there were more wall outlets available in each of these rooms.
