Booked a suite, the room was dirty & saw roaches in the room, I asked to be moved to another room was told their were no suites available so I had to go to standard double room & was not offered any refund or compensation for lower room

It was ok for the price

The location is great and the staff are friendly and helpful.

This is most likely the worst hotel I've ever stayed at especially for the price. The rooms were filthy, stains on the bed and couch, piles of dirt and hair in the floor, the door did not have a safety lock, walls were dirty with paint chipped off all over and at least 1 roach in the bathroom. Ive been to much cheaper hotels that were cleaner and better taken care of. This place is more like a place you take or you could find a lady of the night. JUST HORRIBLE AND NASTY

The walls had so much untouchable gunk on them it was horrifying!
Sheets fridge toilet all were filthy

Definitely needs more attention to the inferior walls ect.

GROSS!!! It was horrible. Nasty. Didn't feel safe. Cant believe I stayed the 8 hours I did. Never, ever stay here.

This place was disgusting we ended up getting a place to stay elsewhere. Rooms were dirty, had bed bugs, the property was dirty and trash overflowing. When we asked for a refund we were told they couldn’t accommodate that request.

The room was visibly dirty where the bathroom was the worst of it. Visible hair everywhere and the sink was dirty as well. The bed was so hard and lumpy i almost tried the love seat instead. Would not stay here again

The place was dirty. Walls were full of stains and the toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned.

The cost is reasonable and the location is okay relative to downtown area. The linen had some strange odor; the bathroom could be cleaned better and more towels needed. and it is adjacent to a club. For the money; this is about what you would expect nowadays.

They gave us a different room then what we booked. There was bugs and roaches in the bathroom, especially in the tub.The walls and doors were dirty, but it overall was a nice stay.We had direct tv with hbo to look at. Had to clean to room ourselves.

Trash left in room. Microwave and frig not clean. Bedding had not been changed and was disgusting. Requested refund and found better accommodations.

The room was dirty and full of flies. We killed at least five before going to sleep and woke up to at least 5 or more.

This place is not great at all but will do in a pinch. Have stayed here several times over the years and it’s sub-par in every way. Beds aren’t comfortable, there are always bugs but never have seen bedbugs. Most of the door ways and stuff need to be cleaned or painted; really the whole place needs a deep clean. Last night there was blood on the sides of the sink cabinet where someone had presumably dripped while reaching for some toilet paper. It had been there for a while never been cleaned up. Moral of this story, book far in advance when visiting Starkville for better options.

Very dirty , holes in the ceiling from a leak, filthy doors and walls, ripped furniture, ect.

My stay was fine because it was in a convenient location. The check in was simple and fast no issues. But the room was another story I had to go the office immediately after check and ask for a clean bed spread for the room. I received in a timely manner but the room had no trash cans, and I didn’t receive any new towels. The bathroom walls and door were very dirty but the shower worked and had hot water. Then Saturday night there was a club next to the motel and the patrons parked in the motel parking lot and were being loud. I will definitely not stay again

Was not impressed at all. Furniture looked like it was picked up from the side of the street. Room was not clean, walls had splatter on them. I do realize it is a college town, but I guess $100/night doesn’t go very far these days. Was ready to leave early the next morning.

This property was absolutley disgusting! There was miold on bathroom ceiling. There were what I hope was ramen noodles on the walls. I couldn't even bring myself to sit down in this room. All the front desk lady would tell me is that the room was non-refundable. I ended up sleeping in my car. I tried to check out the next day because I was not spending the night, using the bathroom, nothing at that place and the lady wouldn't give me my $100 deposit back. I've stayed in Red Roof Inn's before but this place should be ashamed!! Nasty!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

What an absolute ripoff. We paid $100 which was way too much for what we got. One of the nastiest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. The walls were disgusting and looked like a murder scene. The toilet seat was broken and obviously not cleaned. The shower curtain smelled horrible. There were not enough pillows, wash rags, or towels and the manager would not give us any more. So we had 2 full-size beds with 3 pillows and the manager was very lazy and rude about not giving us anymore. So luckily we were able to buy our own since Walmart is a short distance. There was a bar in same parking lot but it was not a problem.

Literally the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed in and I’m a budget hotel girl. I know you get what you pay for but I’ve paid less for WAY better. The amount of courage it took to get under the covers was immeasurable as the entire place was filthy. Immediate musty smell, holes in walls, floor trim falling off, and somehow a sidewalk inside the room.. The floor wasn’t swept, the toilet wasn’t bolted down, the bathtub faucet wasn’t secured, the soap dispensers in the shower had visible dirt on them, toothpaste still in the sink, someone’s razor on top of the mirror, the fridge was dirty, the bathroom door looked like it hadn’t been wiped down ever and had dirt and grime all around the handle. We went and bought air fresheners and chlorix to clean the room ourselves which is absolutely insane for $100/night. The bedding had burn holes in it. I was disgusted every second we were there and had the cockroach shown himself prior to our last day, I would have slept in my car.

There was spackle spots on the walls and not painted. Walls in bathroom dirty. Felt gross. Last-minute reservation and was exhausted so took the room regardless. Do not recommend unless they do improvements.

Older facility that is in good condition and is ongoing renovation at this time. Close to Miss state and downtown

We have stayed here many times. It is convenient to campus, food, and bars. The Dark Horse is great.

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever seen. Nothing in the room worked. Outlets didn’t work, the tv was not hooked up and when I hooked it up it had no signal. Holes in the walls. The ceiling was peeling and falling in the floor. The room was super dirty when I walked in.

Nice big room with comfortable king sized bed. Room was in need of serious renovation or repairs but was very clean. Not knowing previous history, I don’t like or use multi-person dispenser care products used by this hotel and many others. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, and small coffeemaker although there were no coffee cups or products. Plenty of hot water. Surprisingly, it was quiet even though there was a busy tavern sharing the parking lot!

The location of red roof inn was the best thing. The outside is not very appealing. The room itself wasn’t bad but I noticed blood or food on the sheets and I had to convince them to change them before I slept on them another night. Good thing it’s walking distance to downtown and the university and there’s a good bar in the same parking lot

The good: Great shower. Probably the best shower I've ever had in a hotel.
The bad: Smelled like old Chinese food. Skimped on towels. The TV didn't work. Chipped paint with dirty walls. And why double beds? Hell, just get queens in all of them. Didn't sleep worth a crap.

Everything was great except that I left to take a co-worker to work and get breakfast. This was 730am, when I returned they had already stripped the beds gathered all the linen, even though my clothes were hanging there. I went to the office to see what/why and there was a note on the locked door saying they would return in 30 minutes. I just got my stuff from the room and left. I was going to ask that they at least discount the room but no one was there

They were in the process of upgrade facilities when we were there, but overall good experience.

There was construction around and renovations. Staff were nice and handy man who came to try help with noisy toilet was nice and wanted to help.
Noisy toilet and people in laundry next door to my room doing laundry in the middle of the night added to less comfortable night.

room was comfortable and clean. Steep stairs to get to second floor so beware you have to be mobile for room 207. Nice balcony off this room. Great place to relax and unwind after the day.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here. Our daughter is in college at MSU and lives close by.
This time they are doing construction which there was no heads up about. I literally had to find my way to the desk through plastic to sign in. The guy acted surprised when I said 'do I check in here?' You could not find the desk or get to it without stepping over boards, paint, wires, cords, and through plastic. There is NO SUCH thing as breakfast any of the times we have stayed, not even coffee. My son was supposed to stay with us the first time we stayed but the beds are too small for my husband and I to sleep together. My son had to stay at my daughters' apartment. There is no way the beds are full size. There is a bar on site and parking is hard upon returning from game. Not sure they check cars to make sure they are staying there or at the bar. It has never been the cleanliest but this time took the cake!! I will add pictures.....I mean how do you miss a water bottle in the floor when cleaning, someone's floss pick and the walls are so disgusting!! Also, this time there was 2 towels and 2 wash clothes and one floor mat. The guy at the front said there would not be housekeeping during our stay. If we needed more towels to put the dirty ones outside our door. We ended up using them twice.....ugh!! So would they have left clean towels on the ground outside the door?? Weird!
Also, the picture of the toilet paper is all we were given for a two night stay!!

It was what we expected it would be. Cheap room with minimal amenities. It served its purpose. It could have been cleaner.

Absolutely nasty, room looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned. Stains on bed cover, floor hadn’t been mopped, stains on one of the chairs, back off doors were filthy. The worst I’ve ever experienced!
