Location, location, location. No thrills, but very reasonably priced.

First of all I would like to thank the girls at reception who were so patient in being greeted and thanked in my very bad Hungarian ❤️ and secondly all the staff who run the hotel: never have I seen a hotel so clean and, in its small way, so welcoming.
I slept very comfortably and the water jet in the bathroom was very strong. The air conditioning set to 'turbo' gave me the coolness I needed and there was a water cooler in the lobby. In front of the basilica, 5 minutes from the Deák metro/bus/tram stops, a great location at an extremely reasonable price.

Great location and good value for money. A little noisy in the evenings and mornings but I would expect that for the central location. The shower could do with a curtain or screen as it was difficult to shower standing up without soaking the whole bathroom! Nice big room and lovely views of the church.

It was near many restaurants, attractions, & shops which was very convenient. The elevator has a very small capacity but staff were very helpful.

Had a great stay here for a few days we landed late and were able to get the key from a secure box. Perfect location central to everything and staff were very helpful

The staff and service at this property were wonderful. They were warm and welcoming and eager to help. The location was amazing with a beautiful view of St Stephen’s out the window.
However, the bathroom was a very difficult situation. The drain in the shower ran extremely slowly - even with the water just trickling out, the shower drain couldn’t keep up. My daughters and I took extremely short showers so the water wouldn’t pool, and even still we couldn’t run enough water to wash our hair. There was also a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor that had a broken cover - so essentially there was a treacherous hole in the middle of the floor.
But the worst issue by far was a terrible odor that was present in the bathroom. It was sometimes very strong and sometimes almost undetectable, but it made for a very unpleasant bathroom experience.
Overall, other than the bathroom issues, we would have been extremely happy as everything else was great!

We loved the location of this hotel. The room was clean, modern and overlooked the st Stephen basilica. We paid a little extra to face the cathedral, which made it special. There were shops & multiple restaurants nearby and a lively night life that quieted down by 11pm so was never a problem. 2 things were off putting with this hotel/our room. 1) Once you find the hotel, you realize that the rooms all seem to open to the lobby in an apartment that was converted to a hotel. The receptionist/reception area was about 3-4 meters from our room door, so our room didn’t feel particularly private. And since there was a large table about 1.5 meters from our room door, at anytime of the day or night random guests could be sitting there. On the other hand, maybe that means the rooms have more direct supervision. 2) Since the hotel is just above the ground floor, when the blinds on the room windows were open, it felt like people could see in, so we felt that we had to keep the blinds shut at night which defeats the purpose of having a view. I wish the blinds could have covered the bottom part of the window to block people in the square below but still allow a view of the cathedral. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but I would try a more traditional hotel next time given the many options.

LOVED this property! Communication was great! They emailed several days in advance explaining the procedures of entering the building if coming after hours. The staff was friendly. The room was huge! It was within walking distance of most of the main sites!

It was great location and affordable prices in this hotel for touring in the heart of Budapest.

The location is great (100E airport bus is within walking distance!). The staff is friendly. The room has everything needed. Will stay at this hotel again if I ever come back to Budapest).

Great location. Easy to walk to many areas. Close to metro. A little bit hard to find as it’s basically a door with a sign above. Staff very friendly and helpful. Loved having a kitchenette with grocery stores nearby.

Amazing location, our panoramic view room had direct views of the Basilica. Super friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely return and recommend

It is centrally located and room was very clean. The only issue I had was you will hear other guests from neighboring room. It is inconvenient if guest is loud. Also, the smell from the first floor as you enter the building is unpleasant. Other than that, the room is very modern and clean. The receptionist at the front desk during business hours was very friendly. Would definitely stay again for price and location. It is a short distance to tram station and there are lots of shops and restaurants nearby.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. The room was cute and comfortable, it may not be your typical hotel with a 24 hour concierge but the instruction in getting in and out of the building is pretty easy in case you get back late at night. Kari and the rest of the staff are very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The location is fantastic as it is close to almost everything! Our airport shuttle service with Zoltan is superb. The bathroom leaks during shower which I guess is the only issue we had. Overall, it was a great stay and will definitely book this hotel when we visit again. Koszonom!

This is not a typical hotel property. Location is excellent as long as you are okay with not having 24/7 concierge. Depending on the floor you get it could get loud at night. We had our own noise cancelling machine so we were okay. The rooms facing basilica get a lot of light. The rooms itself are very clean and modern looking.

My friend and I had arrived within the hours that there was supposed to be a person at the reception desk (about 9:30 am). However, there was no one there and we were left waiting outside in the hot and dark hallway for over 30 minutes as we had no way in. Finally, someone arrived and we were able to leave our bags until check in time later in the day. Upon check in, we quickly realized that the door to the bathroom in the room would get stuck if closed fully. It did not really matter, because the door was totally transparent! No privacy at all - very strange! Not to mention that the shower door had a crack and would flood the entire bathroom with almost an inch of water each time someone showered. The only saving grace of this hotel is that the location is superb. It is in walking distance from many restaurants, public transportation stops, and beautiful Budapest sights. Although the location was wonderful, I would not recommend this hotel for any travelers.

Lovey Location. Great Staff. Great room. Clean, nice, spacious. And friendly People. I love this place. I WOULD STAY again and again if I ever go back TO BUDAPEST. The people at the reception helped us to store our things and also helped to carry them into the room. Great manners. I give this place 100 points for sure. Price is good too. Please stay like that.

The hotel is located in an apartment building next to St Stephen’s Basilica. This made it a little confusing to find at first. Select Magazin on the intercom and you will be buzzed in. The windowless reception is on the first floor, second floor to Americans. There are stairs in the entryway with a ramp (see pic) and an elevator to your right (see pic). The receptionist was lovely and spoke English well. Our room was on the 4th floor (5th to Americans) with large windows overlooking the Basilica and pedestrian zone square. Room was quiet, a/c was good, bed was comfortable, location was great. However, clothes from a previous guest were left in a cabinet that the tv sat on, we put them on the floor (see pic) and told reception when we left. No closet, instead a portable stand with hangers, not a lot of counter space in kitchen, but it did have fridge, microwave, etc. Not a lot of shelf space in bathroom, but enough towels, toiletries and hair dryer. The shower was large enough, but the cold water pressure came and went very quickly, so you had to be prepared to get out from under the spray or get scalded. It was a hand-held shower head with a holder that slipped out a few times before we got it in securely. Our receptionist was extremely nice and was horrified when we told her about the leftover clothes. On balance it was not expensive, location was great, but I would likely stay at a different hotel on a return visit.

Lovely apartment on St. Stephen’s plaza. Hear the bells ring. Clean and comfortable. Great staff. Lots of good restaurants and easy to see all the sights. Great value.

Great location! Literally right in the plaza by the basilica. It is a bit odd to find and they didn’t really give instructions now to get into the building in order to check in. So it was a bit weird at first when I got into the building and didn’t see a lobby. But overall great place. Would recommend.

First of all, the room was very clean and comfortable. There was a kitchen area to prepare hot drinks and simple food which was great for a solo traveller.
However, it was hard to access the building. I pressed all the intercom buttons, annoyed someone I disturbed, and eventually had to ring the hotel number to get access when arrived.
The woman on Reception was lovely, however my room was not ready despite being past check in time. She was very helpful and put me in another room instead. This was not a problem, however, they did not change the room number or key card for a late arriving couple who opened the door to my room at 11pm that night! They were very tired but we managed to contact someone who sorted it out.
For a solo traveller this unnerved me. Fortunately I was still awake and was not yet in bed. But it caused a lot of stress for me and the poor couple who were only following the instructions they had been given.
The hotel is in a great location, is comfortable but really needs to sort its administration and guest management processes out.

Nice, clean and tidy
The only drawback could be the noise at night as it is located right at the busy plaza in front of the famous Basilica

Modern design interiors. Basic, but I did not need anything more. Room very clean with beautiful view– worth the money. Karolina at the reception desk - very, very helpful. She stayed 2 more hours over her regular working time to help me out with the online reservation issue. She called all the relevant agents to solve a problem which was not caused by the Magazine hotel. Karolina – Great Thanks.

This was a beautiful place to stay in an excellent location for sightseeing and Karenina and the other staff were lovely. I would stay again!

There is a key pad on the door which we did not know the code. We called a couple times on the pad and got no answer, but someone was leaving and told us wheee to go. From then on it was smooth, check in was good, the room was just a room with a mostly comfortable bed, perfect for what we needed.

Went to Budapest to visit the Christmas Markets.
The location of the Hotel was just perfect.
Right outside one of the main Markets, 5 minutes walk from the Airport Bus Stop.
Room was comfy and clean.
Would recommend as a base to explore the City.
Right outside St Stephen's Basilica which is also the starting point for the Hop on Hop off Bus Tours.

The checking was pretty easy and the staff was very helpful. As soon as I've asked for any tiny things, I got almost immediate help. I've had a very positive experience and I only can recommend it.

Hotel is one step away from St Stephens square and church in the heart of Budapest. Accomodation is more like an air b&b with a 9-5 receptionist. Stylish, small, contemporary, minimalist room, bordering on stark. TV only had Hungarian channels, hairdryer but no room safe (there was a simple lockable cupboard). If it weren't for the great location then I would say room was well overpriced.

great location !
however,
no reception
malfunctioning elevator
no warm water
strict checkout (11 am)
Should strike the word Hotel. misleading.
Ideal for young people on a budget with no need for comfort

Very nice hotel. Very good location, very central, and near restaurants and bars. It's possible to walk from the hotel to everywhere.
The room wasn't that big but was very cosy, clean and confortável.
The overall experience was very good.
