Very relaxing stay.
All staff very pleasant and facilities very good.
Beach and ladders to sea was great.
Housekeeping could maybe have been a little bit better, had to request additional toilet roll and do not disturb signs.
But couldn’t fault cleanliness so that is quite picky!

Great breakfast buffet & terrace

We stayed for 12 nights in a delux king room with sea view, the room was well appointed and very spacious with amazing views from the balcony. The bed was very large and comfortable. The air-con was effective and quiet.
The downside for us was the breakfast experience, typically overcrowded, with long queues for the coffee machines that gave poor quality coffee. Fruit juice was not fresh and the hot food options were rather disappointing. Certainly not a 5-star experience.
Location is good, 20-minute bus ride to Pile Gate for the old town, and a pleasant 'boardwalk' into Lapad for an evening out in the bars and restaurants.
There is no actual beach at the hotel, and sea access from the rocks was a bit daunting if you are not a confident swimmer.

The views were amazing. Other reviews have complained about looking at walls, which there were rooms like that. But the purchaser should ensure what they are getting. The breakfast every morning was phenomenal and included. It felt as if we needed to ask how much for breakfast, we did not belong! Romantic, amazing views, all we could have ever wished for our celebration. This property is a place we will definitely consider booking again.

Absolute gem! The views from sea-facing rooms are unbelievable.

Wonderful staff and the sea view is amazing. Our flight was cancelled due to storms and staff helped us out.

Beautiful area, great facilities - doesn’t feel crowded, big comfortable rooom for family of four. Very friendly and helpful staff. Prices in the hotel restaurants a bit stiff.

Had an executive room which was lovely - surprised in a 5 star hotel we were charged for water in the room though!

Buyer Beware!!! We booked a deluxe quadruple occupancy room based on the Travelocity pictures posted online. $2900 for 6 nights. Our room faced a wall with a service entrance which was used by guests and staff literally a few steps from our balcony. We had to keep curtains closed to have privacy. They would not move us and told us that is what we booked.
Limited dining options that have very poor ratings.
It is advertised as a beachfront, it is not a beach it is definitely waterfront but it is rocks and deep water - not ideal or safe for young children.

Gigantic, clean rooms. It's a bit out of the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik, but can be a positive in the busy tourist season. Loved being able to jump into the Adriatic.

Good and quiet location away from the old town. On water but does not have a sandy beach. Beautiful property and connected to the promenade which is helpful, access to lot of eating places and a good walking area.

Great hotel

Absolutely beautiful location, we had a room with panoramic windows overlooking the ocean and surrounding islands. Wide selection of pools including some welcome adults only options - although none heated at this time of year so chilly to say the least! Short walk to nearby Copacobana beach with crystal clear water. Well connected to local bus services into the old town. We only ate at the hotel a couple of times but food was overall good. Breakfast had a good selection even if a lot wasn’t to my personal taste. Plenty of space in seating areas and sunbeds.

The view was amazing! Clean and large comfortable room. Nice linens and pillows. Breakfast was great and the on-site restaurant was very good for dinner.

the pools and ocean-side lounge chairs are great.

For a 5 star hotel, I didn’t feel as though this property lives up to the hype. You have to pay for everything, right down to coffee pods in the rooms. There is no hot tubs on any of the 5 facilities, we stayed in a “deluxe room” which is on the top floor of the royal blue. There is a bar on top of this hotel, and every morning you are awoken by the hotel employees dragging furniture across the floor of the bar. The on site restaurants are also expensive ( cheapest lunch you can do is 70 euro if you and your wife have a beer) and sub par, although Dubrovnik has great restaurants so not the end of the world. On the plus side, hard to beat the view!

Top tier hotel! The room was great, bed was very comfy. We had a late flight on the day of checkout and the hotel kindly allowed us to store our luggage and still let us use the resort facilities. Would highly recommend!

I am not satisfied for the relatively expensive amount I paid to stay in a five-star hotel. We had to request by phone every day to receive toothbrushes, ear cleaners, or hair combs! In addition, the behavior of the staff did not seem very warm and friendly. Although this may be different according to the culture and customs of each country. Maybe my long stay in a country like Japan has made me a little hopeful about this ☺️. If I have a trip to Dubrovnik again, I think I will choose another hotel to stay.

We stayed four nights at the Royal Blue Hotel. The hotel is located in a beautiful part of the world, with a lovely walkway along the coastline and into Lapad (about a mile into the main town).
Visitors to the Royal Blue should be aware that this hotel is part of a number of 'Royal' hotels at the location and therefore all facilities are shared.
The rooms were good, clean, with all expected facilities provided. We chose a room with a sea view which was fine, however most of the rooms at the Royal 'Blue' part of the resort have some sea view, even if slightly 'partial'.
We did find it quite frustrating that people smoke anywhere outside and around the pools. The hotel should define areas of smoking and non smoking as a matter of urgency.
Our check out was just transactional, with no question on how we found our stay and did we enjoy Dubrovnik, which we did.
Whilst we had an enjoyable stay and the hotel is in a lovely position, we would choose another hotel if we return to Dubrovnik.

View was beautiful and rooms very nice. Friends paid the same but had a Nepresso machine plus the kettle and instant coffee that we had. When I asked why I was told not ever room had one. The breakfast was included and very good but we found the dinner to be expensive.

We didn’t realise the Royal Blue is basically part of a complex of other Royal hotels…which isn’t normally a problem but when we’ve paid for Half Board we expected to at least dine in our hotel and not a main hub for all the hotels. We realise it was the start of the season and so probably made sense to put everyone together but had this been known prior I would just have paid to stay in one of the cheaper hotels as there really wasn’t any benefit to paying more. Also the wait staff in the hotel main restaurant need to get their act together before the main season arrives, painfully slow at clearing plates away and trying to get their attention to order drinks was also very frustrating. The hotel itself though is lovely and clean and in a great spot.

Overall a pleasant stay at the Royal Blue Hotel.
Positives include fantastic sized rooms and breath taking sea views with expansive balcony. The spa is also an added plus with sauna, steam room complimentary. It was however unfortunate that the steam room was out of use during our stay.
Breakfast offered a sufficient selection of both hot and continental options and self service coffee and tea options. During peak hours it can get extremely busy so I would recommend coming in near opening as the buffet was not refilled quick enough.
We were disappointed with such an expansive choice of restuarants the selections were minimal. Had we known we probably would have opted for the half board which would be better value for money. Prices are quite expensive and personally I didnt understand the prices. A salad was the same price as burger options at 18euros and didn't match up to the portion size.
The location of the hotel is quite remote but there is a bus a short walk away to get to the old town conveniently.
Overall I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a relaxed and serene stay in a hotel away for the hustle and bustle of the central areas of Dubrovnik.

Beautiful room, but it was in a reception area right above the pool & restaurant where a large cut out circle in the ceiling let’s the music & noise of the restaurant is very disturbing, I would have asked to move if I was staying longer, we did whoever really like to hotel & would recommend to others, we did have a “real” sea view not just a glimpse in the distance & it was stunning. We thought the breakfast was good & the restaurant’s were enjoyable! Lots of sun beds & lovely areas to sit & enjoy this beautiful country.

Room was spacious, clean, view was great
Food quality and selection was poor. Would never book half board again. Waste of money. Hotel was spread out and for person with limited mobility it was difficult

This is not a 5 star hotel- rooms are lovely and it is immaculately clean. Buffet is small and extremely limited and tepid food offerings , not really any staff either - the evening staff are not impolite but give the impression that they didn’t care whether you were there or not ! There was only one member of staff - a young lady ( sorry I didn’t get her name) who worked in the Vista restaurant who actually smiled ! Lucky if we got one drink ordered at dinner and it generally arrived after we had eaten . I paid for full board but mostly ate out. The whole hotel is really lacking in any ambience and it’s like the staff have had no training whatsoever in hospitality. Sun beds were being taken away from the pool area one day whilst we were eating our lunch as a ‘storm’ was coming - it never happened but they never put the beds back out ? Also no pool service - they have missed a trick there. The promenade that goes in front of the hotel to the main town centre is lovely and was a nice walk in the evenings however step outside the front of the hotel and it’s like a weird mix of concrete buildings and derelict shops and restaurants, just not a very nice area and way overpriced . I have travelled extensively with my family and we are in the hospitality trade so I rarely moan as I personally know how hard it is but this hotel is lacking in any kind of character and customer service … wish I had booked a small independent hotel in the old town instead
