Location is excellent and the room was spacious, comfortable, and well lit. The only problem was some parts of the room had not been cleaned well. For example, on my last night I dropped my phone down the side of the bed, and here discovered lots of dust, hair, a used cotton bud, and a cigarette butt…

Could have used information on parking

Great area to stay. Centrally located in a safe neighborhood accessible to key local destinations. The place was very clean and checking in and out was very simple. However, ation is terrible. No clear communication at all regarding parking and parking is handled. Clear instructions would be very valuable in this case. You have to use nearby parking garages which are anywhere between five and 10 minute walks. Which is fine, as long as that is disclosed. Nowhere either in the fine print or in the print, does it state that. The only thing it states in the parking section is That it is “street parking - paid”. Very unclear in fact it’s pretty obvious that they didn’t give any further instructions on parking. That is all it says. When this was brought to the attention of the local staff, they lacked any compassion and simply stated “it was in the disclaimers in the listing” (I.e. fine print). We’re now stuck with a $60 parking ticket.

Lots to say and enjoy about the location. Communication is a little challenging. Tv did not work and was almost 24 hours before someone at the property attempted to address. The app is also not my favorite . But that’s the only negative if that is even negative. Really like the place it’s Comfortable, great location, perfect for a long weekend couples trip. Would recommend!

This property is perfectly located; close to many, many restraunts and other local attractions. Room was small but was efficient for all our needs.

Perfect spot for walking around Boston and seeing the sights! The room was clean and comfy. Easy to access the building and knew they were only a quick call or message away if we needed assistance!

Great room in back Bay Area. Easy check in with good communications from Sonder. Room small but clean and very comfortable. Would highly recommend

It smelt like sewage really bad. We did not feel clean at all and the room was small and lacked amenities. Overall would not return and were upset with the quality of our stay for the price we paid. The sewage issue needs to be taken care of asap. The one positive is the location. Excellent location for walking. Parking is difficult but there are plenty of nearby garages if you’re willing to pay!

The sleeping conditions were pretty bad and parking was a nightmare yesterday. Area around the hotel is nice, lots of options to eat at.

Best location, easy to access everything. Very convenient and safe area.

The room smelled like smoke, and the bathroom smelled musty. There might be a mold problem.

This property charged be a steep fee for “evidence of smoking”. Neither my husband nor I are smokers, not to mention the fact I am 20 weeks pregnant and was traveling with a 1 year old. When I asked to see the evidence they said the matter was not up for debate. They have not returned any of communications but quickly charged my card.

Small rooms, noisy, poor management, no service on site, no housekeeping, and very pricy.

We had a fantastic stay here. The bed was super comfortable and the room was very nice. We also appreciated the library and outdoor space. The location is fantastic - on a quieter road right next to loads of Back Bay shops and restaurants. We will certainly be staying here again next time we’re in Boston!

Great location! Nice property in a fantastic area, but my room on the first floor had an unpleasant, musty smell and dust in the corners of the ceiling that made it feel not so clean. I would probably not stay here again unless there were no other nearby options or the price was much lower.

The rudest customer service I’ve ever dealt with- do not stay here

The room was very clean, and had a nice view looking out to commonwealth ave. I was worried about parking, but was only there for a night so parked at the garage next to King's which was only a 4 minute walk. The check in was seamless and all communications overall were great!

The room was clean and spacious, but got quite damp after showering, meaning that I had to leave the bathroom light and fan on for the whole day in order for the room to not feel damp when I got back in the evening. Service was great and the patio and common room downstairs where comfortable and a nice addition overall.

This was our first time to Boston - my wife and I. In researching where to stay, Back Bay was maybe the 3rd or 4th neighborhood on our list. However, due to limited availability during the holiday week we found this property and decided to book. After now having explored all of Boston for a week, we’re so happy we found this place. Back Bay was the perfect location. Walking distance to major museums, Fenway, Freedom Trail, MIT campus (where we watched fireworks). Newbury St. (one street behind the hotel) is lined with restaurants and cafes. There’s even a CVS and a Trader Joe’s <5mins away (walking) if you like to stock up on snacks/drinks for the room like we do. Very safe, tree-lined walkway in front of the building that leads all the way to downtown. Couldn’t have been happier with the location. As for the property itself: we found it to be clean, comfy and charming. There’s a 24/7 chat and the hotel’s team is very responsive. Negatives? The Queen Master suite is a bit cramped for space, but the location in Back Bay was well worth the trade off. We gave the hotel 5 of 5 stars because it was a perfect home base for a great first trip to Boston.

Loved that it was close to everything and easy to check in and out. Also loved the quietness inside the apartment and comfy at home feeling. It was a great mix of old and new amenities and decor. Parking was a little difficult at first but best thing to do if you have a car is to park at the garage on Dalton street for 24 hour parking. Wish that was communicated more instead of us having to research it. But overall, loved the apartment and would stay here again.

Really great stay. A perfect place for anyone with social anxiety. Contactless check in is my new favorite way to travel.

The location is wonderful. The historic part of the building sounded intriguing. We arrived at 5:30 pm, there is no "Real" front desk. You are self serve with a code to the front door and #rm door. That means zero service. The room smelled musty, the coffee maker was cheap and did not operate properly. Shower had no water pressure and there was no counter space for any personal items in the bathroom. It felt like an unattended Airbnb. No room cleans unless requested and a 24 hr notice to Sonder ?? I wish we had stayed at the Eliot down the street, same location and looked amazing.

Room was very small. No one to report room issues to but a call center. Cold water did work properly, tv not working even after following their printed instruction. Minimum towels available. Bathroom door could not be fully opened (hit night stand) everything looked tired. Hard to get dressed in room. “The Library “ on 1st floor, I tried to work in but no WiFi there. Horrible!

It was what we needed when my daughter had to visit Boston University. It was superclose to Newbury St. Food and shopping nearby. The train station was also close by. Neighborhood was quiet and safe. Check in and check out was easy. If you just want a place to stay without any frills and fancy this is for you. There is a locker by lobby for storage if you need to leave stuff, 1st come 1st served.

I loved my stay at Sonder No. 284! The area could not be better, the room was lovely, and I enjoyed the ease of entering the hotel and room.

Location, location and location! The best location. The only cons were the hallway carpets were very dirty and the recycle/ trash trucks were coming every early morning to the alley to pick up the trash/ recyclables and it was so loud, even closed windows were not helping.

The entry process needs to be revamped. I had to wait over an hour to get my access code worked out because the website was not working, and there was a woman behind me that had the same issue and had to sit in the lobby for three hours trying to figure out her code number for her door. It’s a terrible system, and it needs to be redesigned, otherwise the entire place was lovely.

Never even got a chance to stay because
Booking process was horrible
They rely on a none functioning software application

Fantastic bedroom and great location. All very convenient with a very short walk to Newbury Street which is loaded with top shops and restaurants. Locked baggage storage downstairs is excellent. We had a problem with the door code not working on 4th day (caused us to miss a booked tour and lots of walking, Uber and stress) but was resolved by Sonder staff - this door issue caused a pint reduction on my feedback

I used No 284 powered by Sonder as I was attending a conference in the Hynes conference center this week. The location is perfect and very close to the conference center and prudential shopping center, with plenty of great food and drink options close by. The room was spotless and very convenient with touchless check in and entry via an app.
For the cost of the room, I would have expected a bit more space, but it is prime real estate in central Boston...
All in all, great experience, would go again...
