Hotel having roaches in the room
Bed cover is old, smell bad, TV not working

Great place for the price. Bed is comfy and low noice level. Feel safe and very convenient to shopping, food and hospital is down the street. Will stay here again

This is my second time staying in this hotel. Hotel bed is very comfy, low noice level. Cant really complain and will stay here again in the future.

The TV didn't work. Roach all over the room. The AC didn't work. They move me to another room that wasn't finish. They need to clean.

Simple stay. Convenient location to access many areas of ours interests. Surprisingly quiet for my stay

The room as you walk in seems inviting. That is until you need to use the restroom. The toilet has stains on the seat and a crack on the top. The shower is full of all kinds of hair. Doesn’t look like it has been thoroughly cleaned. The sink is cracked and is cleaned and missing the stopper so you can see all kinds of gross things. The end tables had finger prints all over. Tried wiping them down but it was still visible and sticky.

My only complaint was that the outlets in the bathroom area did not work. Furniture is kind of old and beat up but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Enjoyed the peaceful stay. Could improve on breakfast having more than chocolate chip muffins, granola bars, RAISIN BRAN or FRUIT LOOPS cold cereal coffee without sugar. The limited breakfast was not an issue with the dining options nearby. Would stay again for the peace and safety which is important to me.

Room was nice, comfortable & clean. Property was clean but there were people out being loud in the parking lot most of the night. Coffee & juice machines were out of order & there was only cereal with warm milk & oatmeal bars for breakfast. Couldn’t get to the gym to use equipment because it was padlocked

Room 212 smells strongly of cigarette smoke. No hot water for washing machine when selected to be on hot cycle. When washing machine starts filling with water I shut off the cold water supply valve on the wall and it provided no water. Now for the dryer, a half load of laundry running for 45 minutes will not provide dry clothing.

A lot of people were smoking on the property, outside their rooms, at the front desk, and even one of the employees despite the no smoking sign. Also, our card kept getting demagnetized easily

Lady in the front is rude

Property maintenance is poor. Lots of wall damage. Clothing rack falling off the wall (repaired at my request, but quite poorly done). Walls needed painting. Microwave did not work at all.

Roaches were in the room. The sheets were dirty. The walls had patching in them where there were holes. A man followed me from upstairs to downstairs and marijuana smoke was strong going to the second floor. The front desk staff (female) was SWEET and helpful!

All in all it was reasonably clean quiet not a bunch of scary unsavory people I gave it a low “B” Or I’d say 3 1/2 stars. The best part of it was it is still reasonably priced.think it was almost $70

The lady that works in the front was very rude to Me for no reason on many occasions. And didn’t open the door to the front office for me in the freezing cold. It’s the older lady that smokes all the cigarettes.

If you are looking for a place to lay your head for a day or two this is perfect. The parking lot space is super lit, which makes it safe. They did have a lot of surveillnce. Bed for me were not that comfy. Towels did have sort of black stains but other than that I would stay again. Overall, good place to stay when you are trying not to break the bank.

The older guy was terribly rude .. as if my daughter didn’t have the money to pay for our stay… he wanted her to show proof that the money was in her account… he was absolutely disgusting…. Will NEVER EVER spend another dime at this place!!! The parking as a total mess you pay for a room on the first level and have to park at the edge of the parking lot and walk all the way back to your room… CRAZY!!! But anyways NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone!!!

The room wasn't clean enough for my standards, therefore I couldn't get as comfortable as I would have liked.

We arrived an hour after our check-in time and our room was still not ready.
The room itself had everything we needed. Thank you!

I really liked that when I wanted hot water it was there! I did not have to freeze in the shower before there was hot water. This is not always so in other places.

Disappointed with bathroom/sink areas.

Can’t go inside.. they use a window and bad speaker. They wanted me to pay over the phone or cancel my reservation before I got to property. Remote had no back, just batteries. Door was damaged. Reason there is a cheap price

Understand the area is not in the best part of Houston, although we had no issues. The room was spartan, but clean and the beds were comfortable. The lobby was not available and business was conducted through the 24 hour service window. It was quiet with no late noise issues.

We paid $55 and the room was well worth it! Clean, large, quiet. The lighting is amazing and was a great surprise! Will be staying again next time we are in Houston.

Wat I liked was that it was a quiet area I could always get a good nights sleep , wat I didn't like was that there was no breakfast whatsoever when more than 95 percent of other hotels are serving breakfast other than that everything was great now the reason why I will never go back to this property ever again in my life is because of the front desk guy the Indian dude he always had it out for me every time he worked and he saw I was at the hotel she would always mark down the hotel as sold out so I wouldn't be able to rebook through a third party company I was forced to leave because he was kicking me out I was never a troublesome tenant I don't deserve to have that kind of targeted treatment he should be fired on the other hand Miss Mary was an angel and I thank her for everything she helped me with

Everything is great at this establishment every time I come the rooms are always clean the staff are always very pleasant courteous attentive and helpful I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful environment to rest for the night or a few days Palace Inn 290 and Jones road is #1 on my list of hotels to stay at whenever I visit the city
2.0
The lobby was not accessible- check in is done thru a window.
Rude approach and zero customer service.
The room service people roll BIG carts on tiles and the noise starts at 7 am ( Sunday) which makes resting absolutely impossible.
Beyond unacceptable!
We changed hotels.

As a solo travel technician in the medical field, i found this property fair as the room was clean, the desk personal not really friendly especially when i asked about fixing the florescent light around the mirror. I was told.."it can't be fixed!". Good to know i said...noisy outside exterior in the evening as a heard banging where there was no next door room. Never saw the lobby as i worked early and always communicated through the outside window. If you want or need a quick 1-2 day stay...motel style at barely a fair room rate for this property you found it. Other properties for a few dollars more could be more accommodating. I however will not use this location again.

Lots of long term residents sitting outside being loud. Pot smoke seeped into room at all hours. Lobby unavailable at all times. Check in thru bullet proof glass. Not good stay away from this place.

No breakfast as ad.

Place was clean only thing I didn’t like about it was there wasn’t a dark curtain to cover the window so all the lighting would come in at night..we didn’t have time Pool area but it looked very clean.. Good price for that one night stay
