We had a magical stay at the Andaz - a perfect mix of nature and serene beach. We loved the lagoon pool and the clean beaches. There is so much attention to detail at this resort.. it’s a great place for couples as well as kids and found it to be peaceful although there were a handful of kids at the property during our stay. A few highlights were the breakfast buffet and the beachside service from Paco - these 2 things really made it feel like a luxury vacation. Navigating the property via bikes or by golf carts was a beautiful way to see everything this resort has to offer. I would highly recommend the all inclusive package and would prefer staying on the lagoon side and biking to the beach to get the full experience (plus you’re closer to the amazing breakfast). The main pool is small so if you’re a pool by the beach person or a swim up bar preferred group then this might not be for you. The property is spread out enough for it to be quiet.. the beach was only busy 1 of the days we were there due to an event going on. The beach always had available chairs and ask for Paco if you want immaculate service during your stay. We made our dinner reservations for restaurants on the property 30 days in advance.. dinner was the best at Casa Amate as well as Saffron at Banyan Tree.. both memorable experiences. Lastly we visited the other resort properties and for the cost I would continue going back to Andaz as it’s more affordable. Couldn’t recommend enough and can’t wait to return!

Good: It's a perfect place to stay with the kids.
Bad: The beach and the beach pool are really small and packed with the beach chairs.
Very bad: The SPA treatments are extremely expensive, 2-3 times higher than medium at the seashore.

We just visited for the third time and it was wonderful, again! The staff is phenomenal, the food is incredible and the walking/bike riding around the property is fantastic. The beach was pristine despite an algae bloom and the pools were delightful. The spa treatments were great.
The rooms are starting to show a little bit of age but still a great vacation!

The staff was unbelievable! Marco ,Daniel and Antonio on the beach made our trip absolute perfection. They were so attentive and remember our names and drink preferences. The beach was lovely and the always cleaned up the seaweed. So no trouble with that at this beach (other beaches in the area get bad) . The hotel is fun and trendy. We stayed on the beach side. Highly recommend if you can afford the extra splurge. If not, don’t worry. Golf carts will take you anywhere on the property. Martin drove us often and was such a great help. He was always friendly. *PSA tip your golf cart guy!

Beach was so beautiful. Service and food were fantastic, great quality. Rooms were clean and the hotel structure is perfect for “social distancing”. Rooms were a bit far from the beach but they had bikes and golf carts available which made the experience very nice! We loved riding bikes to the beach! Sotavento and casa Amate were fantastic. Only downside were the menus, most didn’t include which food/drinks were part of the all inclusive package and we hated having to check that every time. Also, they don’t offer sparkling wine or rose in the all inclusive package - that was a big bummer!

A truly fantastic trip. The resort is beautiful, the staff were so friendly and attentive (and all took great safety precautions due to Covid). I was nervous before traveling since it was our first vacation since before the pandemic and the front desk staff answered all of my many questions. When we had a small bug problem in our first ground floor room (it is the jungle after all!) within 15 minutes we were in a new room. We stayed in the Lagoon area which we enjoyed greatly; close to breakfast and less windy and we felt like we had the lagoon area pool completely to ourselves. It was fun to ride bikes to the beach each day. If you like drinking margaritas by the water from noon to night I highly recommend the all inclusive package. We definitely got our money’s worth and the rest of the food was delicious. Casa Amate was amazing, beautifully prepared, the chef came to say hello too which is always nice. Our only misstep is our last dinner at Cocina Milagro was only “good” versus all the other “excellent” meals we had. I cannot recommend the Andaz enough and hope I can come back one day soon!!!

Location and amenities are great, very friendly and professional personnel, fantastic atmosphere and outstanding food and service.

All inclusive should mean ALL inclusive, not a portion of the menu is included with up charges on all the good items. Breakfast did not start until 8 and took at least an hour so it was not an option if you had early morning activities. Service was friendly but very slow.

Very nice resort with several good restaurants. We especially loved breakfast and all the stuff at breakfast that were super attentive to us and our baby boy. The resort is large and you need golf cart or a bike (no children seats) to move around. Kids club for kids over 4yo. Would love to see more kids activities or stuff for kids. Grounds are very well maintained. Rooms are clean well equipped.

This was a fantastic resort, in a beautiful setting. The facilities were great, there was a nature trail running through the resort, bikes were available to get around on, or you could use the golf buggies to get around, but talking was also not a problem. We also did a kayaking trip through the canals which was beautiful and the guide was very knowledgable about the area. It was very east to organize trips to various sites of interest in the area. We were on an Open Kitchen meal plan, and all the restaurants were very clear about items not covered by this. One of our group has celiac but this proved not to be a problem, the serving staff were very aware of the need to avoid gluten, breakfast had it's own area for gluten free bread, all the menus had a huge choice of gluten free meals. We can't wait to go back. If I had to find anything to criticize it would be that we had to ask for more water in the room, which is supposed to be topped up every day, and snacks were only topped up once whilst were were there rather than everyday, although the mimi bar was replenished daily. For us this wasn't a big deal, we never actually ran out of water in the room but the snacks would have be lovely whilst sitting on the balcony having a drink before supper.

Excellent ! Loved the bicycles!!! Staff excellent, excellent location

The property is less than 2 years old and beautifully constructed. Its essentially 2 separate properties with the beach area and main hotel area a mile apart so you have to take a golf cart or like riding bikes back and forth. We did the all-inclusive package which is fine but there are only 2 restaurants and the main bar is down by the beach. The hotel needs a main bar in the upper village. The hotel is in a tough position because it truly does not want to be an "all-inclusive" resort but jimmy rigs this option so they don't lose out on this piece of business which is in high demand with families. So they offer this quasi, half baked all inclusive package where items are not included. You have to pay for items in the room mini bar, lobster at dinner (which they did not disclose), the nice restaurant on property and the bar there is not included. But that said, the food that was included was excellent and the hotel staff was great. The rooms are very nice, the gym and pools are great. The spa seems insanely priced and no one there because of prohibitive pricing. The sunscreen spray was $63 dollars. Ouch !! There are many other restaurants you can pay for on the Mayakoba property and we did one dinner at the sushi restaurant at Rosewood Agave Azul. It was good but $500 US dollars for me and my wife and 10 year old child. Double ouch and more expensive than Blue Ribbon sushi in NYC and makes me feel violated but you are a captive audience on the property.
