We loved the pool on the beach area and the bonus of pool bar and Starbucks
Right on beach with comfortable sun beds and umbrellas
Staff where lovely
Great breakfast
Rooms were lovely and modern and very clean
We had a swim up room but sat on the chairs at beach
We didn’t have any sun on the pool veranda
Everything is close in walking distance to get food snacks shopping or grab a long tail boat to islands
Would definitely stay again

We had the best stay ever at Centara Aonang. All the positive reviews we read/heard before staying here do little justice - it is truly the perfect place for families with children. The kids club was the highlight as we let the kids engage in activities there while we went to the spa. Definitely going to come back here - just to enjoy this place again.

Hotel is nice and good location, would probably stay again if our 1st choice was not available.
--Slow response to overflowing water in shower (slow drain)
-- Service in evening restaurant bad to poor, not to Centara standards.
+evening manager very helpful

We liked this place a lot more after the first night. On checkin, the hotel seems a bit run down. The staff had stained shirts, the folio with the paperwork looked like it was 20 years old, the welcome drinks were not good. Fortunately, everything improved significantly from those first impressions.
The rooms were comfortable, though the kids beds are about as hard as you could possibly make them. Literally like sleeping on a board. Fortunately our kids can sleep anywhere so it wasn't an issue.
The AC was super strong and it took a few hours for the AC unit to remove the humidity in the room and moisture from the floors - so if they're wet when you first get there, don't worry. Give it a few hours.
The main pool you see when you checkin is fairly meh. It's a large and clean kids pool with some average water slides. The real pool is close to the beach and much, MUCH more picturesque. We spend most of our time there.
We also loved the location of the hotel. From the beach side of the property, it's a 7-10 minute walk to the shopping area and along the way there are a bunch of cute seaside dining and drink options. The drink stand closest to the hotel sells very cheap drinks, but unfortunately, the offbrand liquor (including tequila made from rice alcohol!) made for terrible drinks.
The beach is very close and fairly clean, and it's only a short walk to the longtail boat dispatch hut where you can grab a boat to Railay beach (highly recommended).

Overall, the hotel was great. We booked a family room with pool access and the room was clean, spacious, and worth the extra cost to have such wonderful access to the pool - which was huge! Beach access was great too. I knocked off a star because when we checked in, the hotel said I couldn't have my 18 and 17 year old stay in the room with us even though it clearly states on hotels.com that the room sleeps 4. When I checked in, the hotel said that I could only have 4 if the other two are under 12 but that was not stated anywhere in the fine print and wouldn't let me check in until I paid extra. I found that unsettling, especially when I found an entirely separate room for the two bunk beds that ended up being a perfect setup for my children - who at 18 and 17, COULD have a separate room (and we've booked plenty when needed) but being in separate rooms naturally creates distance and I wanted us all together for this family experience. The cost wasn't prohibitive and I didn't let it ruin my experience, but since it's not high season right now, it was a little off-putting.

We had a great stay here! They upgraded our room for us and gave us our own personal pool on our balcony! The hotel pool was also beautiful and looked out right onto to the beach, which was just a few steps away. The location was awesome because it was right on the beach and a short walk from the main shopping, dining, and entertainment area in Ao Nang. Great property and location overall!

This is a fabulous resort at Au Nang beach. The only resort that has great beach access directly from the hotel. The pools are wonderful and the food is great. The air conditioning worked great in our room! We would definitely stay here again.

Rooms have very thin walls. The daily fire show is absolutely pointless as you are sat on a beautiful beach with beautiful surroundings. Then all of a sudden some people turn up with the loudest speaker playing the worst music burning kerosene. Not needed and about as entertaining as a broken leg. Onsite singers also not particularly entertaining as can’t really sing. Some ambient vibes would be better. Breakfast hall too small for the amount of people. Lovely people but wouldn’t return.

Hotel is nice, walking distance from everything, at the end of the beach so not a crazy amount of tourists walking the beach.
95% of the staff were friendly and helpful, however some of them seems exhausted\ not motivated… We encountered several employees struggling with basic English.
Our room was very clean and cozy.
If you’re looking for a really quiet hotel, it might not be the best options since it was mainly families with young kids.
Breakfast was ok.

I booked 2 rooms and asked for the room to be connected. We traveled with 3 small kids, and initially they put us in room not connected, and with 1 room separation between our room. They promised us that the next night they will move us to be side by side, but not connected. The kids were very scared to sleep on their own, and it was a sleepless night. On top of this, there is a river running crossing the hotel 400 and 700 wings. This river has standing sewerage running in it with a horrible sticky smell that you couldnt open the door of the room, or go in to the room private pool. The next moring they moved us to 700 wing which was better. Private pool was facing the beach, but still you couldnt avoid the horrible smell.
The food was a big disappointment as well. Very limited options, and a few things like the fruit salad and oatmeal were bad a few of the times because of the heat.
The staff was excellence and the location on the beach was amazing.

The hotel is more like being in Orlando than in Thailand. It has no Thai personality. Very much a family resort, the pool lounges are taken by 9:00 a.m and guests keep them all day, even if they don’t use them for hours at a time. Lots of small children, not always supervised.
The room was large and comfortable.
Lots of choices at the breakfast buffet but the coffee was some of the worst I ever had at a hotel.
There are lots of better choices in Krabi.

Great location and the kids loved the pools. Breakfasts had lots of variety and the night time entertainment (singers & fireshow) are fantastic. We had a hard time getting beach towels and wish the pools were open a bit longer - but other than that it was excellent.

The employees were kind amazing and spoke our language well. The entire resort was clean, food was amazing pools were clean. 10 out of 10

It was overall a good experience except for some minor issues such as running out of towels at the pool, some housekeeping deficits and on one occasion we went on an early morning excursion and needed a boxed breakfast. The breakfast consisted of a couple of breads, a juice and water. We were surprised given a buffet breakfast comes with the room.

Great place to stay on the quieter side, walk down to the beach and eat local Thai spicy dishes at The Last Fisherman, then walk through and brave the Monkey Trail, lit up at night giving an otherworldly appearance.

This was an affordable paradise some years ago. Quiet, adults in the front beach pool and the kids in the back side water slide, friendly staff and great breakfast. Now, it has become an overcrowded, noisy and very expensive hotel. Small kids playing around your sun loungers in the front beach side «grown up adult pool», all services and food much more expensive, renting out sun loungers and towels to people from other hotels (500thb per person). Average breakfast and the personell is unfriendly and DO NOT SPEAK OR UNDERSTAND basic english. The tour desk-lady were showing us brochures for daytrips to the islands and did not understand our need for a car and ferry to Koh Lanta. Useless. Will not return to Centara Ao Nang again!

The resort was quiet and beautiful but within close walking distance to shops and restaurants. Would stay here again. Great place.

The property location is perfect. Close to all shopping, dining, and the long tail boats, but also just the right distance that it’s still quiet. The room was clean and very spacious. Amenities were nice, and the included breakfast buffet was excellent. The only things I missed having in my room were a desk & chair for my laptop, as well as having an iron, although they will bring one to you if you ask. The staff was genuinely kind and helpful. The gym was small but adequate. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations and I would recommend this hotel in every way.

The experience was fantastic - loved the room, amenities, furniture, lots of storage/table/ hanging space and its location. We got a room facing the main pool ~ best spot for families with young children!
The resort has direct beach access and you can simply walked out through the back gate to get to restaurants, shopping area or to get tuk-tuk and explore other parts of Krabi.
Will we come back again? Definitely yes! The pull factor is definitely the customer service rendered, location wise & amenities.

Great location, close to restaurants and shopping but quiet at the same time. Loved everything here, my only two complaints are the beach - wish it was more private and coffee was better quality. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a stay at Ao Nang.

Really amazing place, children-friendly. close to the beach w an amazing view. The breakfast spread was amazing too.
However. we got the in-room pool, unfortunately, it wasn't a beautiful sight. Should have gotten a cheaper room as the shared pool was amazing enough.
