Gingerhill Farm Retreat is a true gem! It’s a real oasis inside the jungles. You are very close to the nature. It’s a magical place and the owners and the volunteers are super welcoming, nice and helpful. Highly recommended!

The garden cabin far exceeded our expectations. We had an amazing Hawai’i experience living in a jungle of every fruit you could imagine with an incredible view. So peaceful and quiet I could have spent my entire time on the island on that property.

We are campers, we love animals, and we love the outdoors, and being grounded to our environment! This was our favorite stay in HI. We stayed in ocean front condos, rainforests volcanic caves, and cute motels, but this place was absolutely our favorite! We loved Kimba, the cat, the goats, the chickens, and the big ol pig!! The frogs and stars are night are wonderful. We were greeted at the beginning by a very kind person. She walked us to our cabin and showed us around.
We stayed at the bamboo cabin (BEAUTIFUL!) bamboos everywhere! we had out restroom, kitchen area, fridge, and shower. It was so cozy and romantic.

Ginger Hills is a lovely little place in close proximity to a lot of awesome things to do. I think they offer a good variety of lodging options and they've got a great staff comprised of legitimately vibrant and kind individuals. If you want to stay somewhere that's close to nature, you really cannot go wrong.

Absolute gem ! We stayed here for our week long trip celebrating my daughter turning 18 . Comfortable beds , beautiful grounds and the most amazing noises at night ( coqui frogs and trees) . I grew up in Puerto Rico and adored hearing the frogs all night . Perfect little outdoor kitchen were we made breakfast every morning .Would stay here again !

Amazing piece of paradise with lots of great energy, vegetation, cute animals and sweet people. We will be here again! Glamping at its finest with modern comforts while feeling like you get to stay in the jungle.

I loved the seclusion and the Coqui frogs at night.

Beautiful private farm setting on a hill. Away from the busy area. Locked gates and unlocked door to my room was great compared to precautions that have to be taken in Honolulu

It was a great experience to witness first hand the Hawaiian spirit starting with my stay in this Retreat FarmHouse; I booked for a small cabin for myself but to my surprise a day or two; through their welcoming email I found out that I was upgraded to Garden Cottage, amazing, yeah!😍 I got the whole place by myself that could accommodate a small family. Thankful, thankful for the management/staff for the warm welcome. I felt the closer connection with the nature in the middle of the lush; special mention to the Iris and Zach for being so warm and welcoming (they even provided the sweetest bananas I’ve ever tasted and I shared with the tropical birds, the papaya, and the pomelo) by the kitchen table. Hope to come back with my family someday.

My husband and I LOVED our stay here. The Garden Cottage added so much to our Big Island experience. Between a suite at a nice resort, or here, no question - I would take our cottage at Gingerhill Farms in a second! The lush greenery and sounds of nature all around us, the privacy and solitude of our spacious cottage, the ocean view from the porch, the luxurious bedding, the excellent communication with staff (who brought us fresh bananas upon arrival and even lent us snorkel equipment for free)...it was a dream! But it's different from a hotel, and some people might not appreciate it like we did. For example, the shower is outside, attached to the side of the cottage. But it's very private, and we found it unique and special to have a shower in the open air, surrounded by lush greenery, the sound of birds and a beautiful sky above. Another unique aspect - at night there are a lot of singing coqui frogs. But for us, it added to the experience. Bring earplugs if you prefer to keep the windows/doors open at night and you are sensitive to noise when you sleep. I really, really hope we will have the opportunity to stay at the Garden Cottage again someday. It was PERFECT. Thank you again to the staff, you were extremely attentive and kind, yet gave us our space and privacy. We appreciate you!

i expected a hotel room not a tent. However, if you like a tent in a farm setting, rustic, you may like it

The night life of the forest is incredible. The place was relatively easy to find and Sylvia helped me every step of the way. I loved everything about my stay. So grateful for the warmth and hospitality. Can’t wait to come back. The animals, oh my heart. Frank and the chickens and the goats. Uni and I named the other two Eric and Suzie. I ate well, fresh and got to check out some great spots nearby. The food, the views, the company. Unparalleled. Mahalo. Until next time.

Gingerhill Farm Retreat is in a gorgeous setting. The Garden Cottage was perfect for us. The outdoor shower was heavenly. The view of the ocean 1500 ft below was stunning. We were enchanted by the sound of coqui frogs at night and birds in the morning. I will certainly try to stay here any time I go to Hawaiʻi Island.

Once I realized I had a gate code in my email with which I could enter, and after getting past the fact that the grounds were trashy and unkempt, the stay was amazing.
The seclusion and sounds of wildlife were very cool.

Once I booked, Gingerhill stayed in contact with me making sure I found the place, could enter and then show me to my room. The room was immaculate and well stocked for everything you need during your stay. Gingerhill is a working farm and had recycle options, used low energy and organic/environmentally safe products. They are located on a mountain with natural vegetation with an awesome view of the ocean. Sunrise and sunsets were spectacular. Local beach 12 minutes away was fabulous. Great place to go for quiet and views.

Our room literally overlooked the beauty of Hawaii with the ocean in the background! We were able to explore the wonder of the island and the most breathtaking sunset views, all from the comfort of our little porch! This property was quaint and unique. The staff were warm and friendly. I would definitely stay again.
