I stayed one night in the ground level carriage house suite. The room and grounds were very nice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I enjoyed the location and proximity to restaurants and shopping. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room to keep drinks cold. Also would have liked to have a desk chair. I would stay here again the next time I’m in Kansas City.

This was the most incredible stay! Beautiful and so comfortable. Probably the best sleep I’ve had this year. Can’t wait to return the next time I’m in Kansas City.

The Truitt was simple and sweet. Great for a couple days away with my partner. It’s an old place with lots of character and beautifully decorated. The staff was very kind and helpful. The contactless check-in & out was very convenient! The only thing that wasn’t great was the wifi. There were a couple connection options and neither could really power a work day. The smart TV worked great though so watching Netflix in the evening was nice. All and all The Truitt is a nice place to stay for a couple nights! Thanks for your hospitality!

Quiet, elegant, comfortable.

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is totally contactless (and paperless) so we never met the owners. Good recommendations for food in the area. Very walkable neighborhood and very close to the Nelson-Atkins Museum and the Kemper Museum. Very quiet place.

Conveniently located, excellent hospitality, easy access, keyless entry. Loved our stay at the Truitt!

The Truitt is described as a "luxury" hotel. Luxury is right. So is beauty, so is comfort, so is warmth, so is service. My husband and I were looking for something for a one night stay whilst passing through KC that was proximate to the wonderful art museum there...and we couldn't have landed in a better location. The renovation on the property is impeccably, artfully done.
Before our arrival we were notified by email/text, giving us all of the info we needed for a seamless, contact free check in. Upon on our arrival, we were greeted by one of the property hosts who gave us a tour of the facility and offered the most fabulous recommendations for delicious places to eat while in town. As we settled into our truly impressive room, we found gourmet chocolates, plush beds and a number of comforting "extras" to make our stay supremely cozy. In the morning, we enjoyed coffee from the self-serve coffee bar on the gorgeous back patio, refreshed and ready for a morning touring the galleries. Check out was a breeze.
Kind thanks to the gracious folks who run the Truitt, we look forward to seeing you again.

Beautiful restored home turned into hotel rooms. Definitely a wonderful experience. Would recommend to anyone wanting a couples getaway.

Very nice property and location, it’s an older building so their may be some creeks in the flooring but overall great place 5 star *****

Rooms were perfect. Very well curated and in a great part of town.

This is a terrific property located close to the KC museums and Plaza area with good options for dining and shopping. The property is a stately home pristinely restored and decorated - we stayed in the coach house just behind the main house and our room was lovely. It even had a record player with terrific music choices. Communications were friendly and check in was easy. I would stay again when in the area.

You can tell Ryan and David put their hearts into curating the Truitt and your experience there. It was an elegant property with a beautiful room. It was the perfect spot for a couple's getaway. Easy to park and access, close to tons of points of interest. We will definitely be staying here again!

Cute boutique hotel. Close to the Plaza but in a quiet residential neighborhood. Loved how much room we had.

The room was excellent, we were in town for the Copa soccer game, and couldn't be happier. Great furniture, classy decorations, and helpful service. Would stay again!

An absolute delight every time!

We loved staying at this beautiful place! It had so many thoughtful touches. We stayed two nights and will definitely be back. We loved the touch of history in this house and the surrounding area. Ryan gave us great recommendations on where to eat. It was a great experience!

Interesting historic property in a historic area. Nice room. Access was a challenge as were check in instructions.

Earlier in my trip, I had stayed at the sister property of the Truitt (the Aida) and had loved it so much I was looking forward to the stay at the Truitt. They are both beautiful properties, in a lovely neighborhood with easy parking. The ONLY reason the Truitt gets knocked down a star in the Overall is not anything to do with the property itself, but the city of KC had notified the owners late the evening I was there that there would need to be an emergency water shutoff/repair for something down the street. The owners communicated it and did all they could, but it still made me sad not being able to use that beautiful shower the morning I checked out.

Classy place full of beautiful architecture, paintings, and the room was spacious and the bed and linens were fabulous.

Very nice place. I felt very welcome walking in. I did have an issue getting the code for entry but that was a transmission issue on hotel.com's side. I called Truitt Hotel and had the code within seconds and they gave me restaurant recommendations as well! I don't know what they use to clean their linens with but they smell very nice.

Lovely room, great service, great location. Liked it all, nothing to dislike. Thanks!

The room was great. 2 things that could have taken this from a 4 star to a 5 star. 1 the tv is in an unviewable area with the rest of the room. A mount that let the tv pivot. Allowing for a better viewing angle would have been appreciated. 2. I am never happy when the toilet paper is 1 ply and so thin you can see through it. There were a couple of other small details that honestly most people likely would never notice. That being said the private balcony was a great place to sit in both morning and evening. The bed was super comfy and the shower hit the spot after a hot day exploring. It is a very beautiful home and a very quick walk to a lot of places. Would recommend to anybody but maybe bring your own toilet paper.

Clean, unique design and the entire hotel was fragrant and beautiful! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. David and Ryan were very attentive and accommodating. I’m a local and I will be back for nice staycation!

Ryan and David have created a space for the perfect couples getaway. Our room was so clean upon arrival and the bed is very comfortable. Our room was beautifully decorated, as is the rest of the house. They were very attentive to any questions we had.
They have put a lot of thought and care into creating a wonderful place to stay.
We hope to get a group together and book an adults only trip to visit again.
I was very impressed that the noise level was low. It’s a beautiful, old home so I didn’t know what to expect but the only thing we could hear were doors closing from time to time and what hotel space doesn’t have that.
We loved our stay at The Truitt and look forward to going back!

Fantastic character and design! Easy “check-in”! Absolutely loved for our quick one night trip!

The aesthetics of the hotel were unique, eclectic, modern, and very clean. I would HIGHLY HiGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional experience.
4.8
Truly an incredible stay. I have stay at many hotels and the Truitt is by far the most comfortable/beautiful I’ve ever stay! Amazing shower and extremely comfortable bed. This is my new go to hotel in Kansas City!
4.8
This place was beautiful and cozy. Unfortunately I got in too late to enjoy the true beauty of it and therefore it definitely felt more like an Airbnb, as there was no front desk or anyone to check in with. I had to use a flashlight to see the numbers on the key pad to get in. All in all, it was perfect for my short, convenient stay. I would just recommend getting there before dark.

Truitt Hotel is a truly special property, gorgeous and located near fabulous restaurants. Room 2C is large and open with wonderful light, comfortable shower, great linens, and overall beautiful decor. You will feel like you are staying in a luxurious home grounded in good taste and exquisite design aesthetics. Hotel was booked full but I never saw another guest. I was able to walk to fantastic restaurants and felt safe. The nearby chain hotels are a huge disappointment in comparison to the Truitt. I will never stay anywhere else in KC. There is ample street parking which saves you a nightly expense. I can’t recommend this boutique hotel highly enough. Thank you to the conscientious staff who took such great care of me, down to the superb truffles on my bed as a welcome gift. Thank you!!!!

Such a gem! Great extra touches like complimentary Nespresso in the lobby served in Wedgwood with amazing madeleines. Well thought out spaces.
4.8
The property and room were beautiful, wonderfully decorated, and cozy. The managers were also quick to respond to any questions and were very friendly and helpful.
The room had lovely furnishings and was well-stocked with delicious snacks and lovely toiletries. The house had several cozy and welcoming common spaces, including a beautiful outdoor seating area.
I felt like I was in a private, serene retreat and would highly recommend this property.

It was very pleasant experience . The room was appointed beautifully . Pleasure to stay there . Also a great location .

Much more interesting than a big chain hotel

It was great!

The most lovely place to stay!
4.8
Very unique hotel. Only thing missing is the room needs a refrigerator. We will stay there again

We enjoyed the property and the location. There was a night where a couple was super loud around 2:30am. We had two sound machines going, and it still woke us up. I know that is part of an older building, not being very sound proof.
4.8
The service is impeccable and the hotel and rooms are gorgeous!

Beautiful property within walking distance to the Nelson Atkin museum. The madeleines at the reception table is a yummy welcome to our stay and a lovely morning treat before we head out.
