We stayed as a family of 4 for 3 days and enjoyed every moment we spent in the house. We had some good memories from Alexandria in the past and decided to stay in the city while taking care of our daughter’s college relocation in DC. Commute was ok and we found the house a nice, comfortable and welcoming place to get back to from a day full of adventures in DC. Kitchen is extraordinarily well stock and ready for you to enjoy cooking and serving. Huge Collection of high quality coffees and equipment to brew your heart out… a nice back yard table to enjoy your morning coffee and evening… clean, spacious and fully furnished bedrooms, two great bathrooms with well stock towels and soaps and shampoo for an entire tribe… sparkling clean sheets.. large screen TV sets in each room…
The house was inviting you to stay and enjoy your stay. The neighborhood is calm, clean and great with store fronts and restaurants in walking distance (5mins). The host was/is super nice and helpful and communicative, adding some personal touch to the nice experience that our stay was. We are going back, and I recommend you try it too.

Very nice and quiet house that is located neat (15 minute walk) to the train to get into DC. Also very close to nice dining in Alexandria. Mark was very helpful to us with the check in process and we had no issues during our stay.

What a beautiful home and what an amazing host! We decided to have a girls trip weekend in DC and we settled on staying in the Delray area of Alexandria, Virginia. The area is fantastic and every morning we walked to the local coffee shops for breakfast. The neighborhood is beautiful and the residents are very friendly. Just a few minutes drive from DC. By far one of the highlights of the trip was our host, Mark. He was very friendly and provided timely communication. The check in and check out processes were seamless. It was very clear to all of us that this host knows what he’s doing when it comes to furnishing a residence for out of town guests. Highly recommend booking with this host!

My family of five enjoyed this house as a home base for our week in DC. The house was clean with an abundance of amenities to make us feel right at home. The 10-minute walk to the metro took us through the adorable and friendly neighborhood. Mark was incredibly helpful and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

The property was as the pictures indicated. Our needs were met. We loved sitting outside. Although we didn't cook, there was plenty of everything if we wished to. The neighbors were friendly. Our host laid out what was expected of us - very little guessing. Overall, we had a fun time.

Our family agreed this one of the best VRBO's we have experienced. The neighborhood was awesome and access to restaurants and shopping was just a short walk away. Realize that this is an older home with bathrooms on the basement and third level only. This was not a problem even for the 75 year old that had knee replacement completed in January. The home was extremely clean and comfortably furnished. The coffee selection was outstanding. The kitchen contained everything you need to prepare a meal including spices! Linens and towels were great quality. The owner, Mark, has really done an excellent job of providing all you need for an enjoyable stay. We had a minor issue late one evening, Mark was very quick in responding and helping us resolve our issue. We would definitely love to return for another stay!

This property was truly a comfy, cozy stay. With delicious coffee and espressos provided, the dining table was very comfortable to sit around with the six of us and enjoy a tasty breakfast from the Junction Bakery which is a convenient short walk.
Mark, the host, was on top of things and was even there when we arrived. The beds were super comfortable after a long day of sightseeing. It is a great location and very quiet. One note, just make sure you can climb stairs rather easily as both bathrooms are either upstairs or downstairs.

We needed a place to stay for a team meeting. This place was perfect in location and size. The backyard provided a nice table with lights to sit outside and unwind after a long day. The neighborhood is safe and great for walks in for dinner or exercise. Host is very close (next door) and very responsive… lots of good coffee options.

This is a GREAT house in a GREAT location! Super clean and very well stocked! Everything is cozy and aesthetically pleasing - and the coffee set up made us feel spoiled and was super generous! We were close to everything with a short drive and the owner was so kind and had lots of great suggestions. The patio and yard were also very enjoyable! Great for families or friends with plenty of space and parking. We will definitely book again when we are back in the area!

This duplex was perfect for us. Our two teenagers each got their own room, which they loved. The beds were super comfortable.
The place was nicely decorated and the Nespresso with an assortment of pods and coffee maker with an assortment of beans were a nice touch for a coffee-lover like me.
The neighborhood is nice and felt safe. Friendly neighbors.
Close to a metro station, although we just drove into DC and parked. It’s a short drive when not rush hour.
Mark had just the right amount of communication.
I would definitely stay here again!

Property was ideally located in quiet residential neighbor...bur only 5 minute walk from dozens of boutique eateries, grocers, and pharmacy. Premisis were extremely well-organized and modern. Access to wireless network and other electronics was simple and without problems. Everything worked like it was supposed to. Clearly a well, and comprehensively conceived and maintained VRBO. Communication with host was fluid and always timely. No issues with any aspect of the stay.

This property was as listed. The location was excellent, the house was clean, the beds were so comfortable and it was just what we needed for adults with kids on a quick family trip for our weekend visit. The only challenge we experienced was a neighbor of the property knocking on the door to inform us her child was asleep and to ask we stop making a sound that was out of our control, due to a door that would stick and needed to be pulled hard to open or slammed to close. We let Mark know right away just to assure that we were not doing this intentionally. We had an issue locking up due to our own mistake and Mark was quick to answer and help us out. We would stay here again.

Mark's duplex is a fantastic stay for anyone looking for a long-term stay in a walkable, friendly neighborhood - especially if you have a dog! Communication about access and the location was excellent and proactive. The yard was a great bonus for our dog to run around and enjoy greeting all of the neighbors. We would definitely stay here again!

We booked this place to be close to shops and Resturants for a staycation. The place was well equipped with everything needed to have a great girls weekend. We loved looking at the holiday lights around the neighborhood as well. Really enjoyed the place and had a great weekend away. Would recommend this place to stay again.

We had a wonderful stay in Alexandria. Everything was accurate to listing. Beds were comfortable and plenty of room for everyone to spread out after long days in DC. Nespresso machine and pods were an added bonus to kick start out mornings. Would recommend a stay here. Close to lots of restaurants.

We had a very nice time. Mark was very accommodating. My big problem was there were only a bathroom upstairs level and in the basement. This was never noted in the description of the property. There is no bathroom on the main level. I had a knee replacement which makes walking upstairs to go to the bathroom every time was inconvenient/painful. My daughter who's 5 months pregnant also had to make that trip upstairs every time. (Pregnant girls need to go to the bathroom a lot.) Honestly, if I knew there wasn't a bathroom on the main level I would never would have booked it. If bathrooms aren't a problem, nice place to book.

We were visiting our son and daughter-in-law for our granddaughter's first birthday in Alexandria. We were traveling with an infant, 3 year old, and 5 year old along with our daughter and son-in-law so that meant a lot of stuff to deal with! Everyone got their own room and we were able to make breakfast each morning for everyone. Mark, the owner, even stopped by with a brand new coffee maker to add to the house. The house has Norwegian decor and a TV in each bedroom. Full laundry room, plenty of towels, and king size comfy beds were appreciated. All in all, a great trip thanks to being able to stay in the comforts of home rather than a cramped hotel room.

Stayed for two nights as we were in town for my nephew’s wedding. We walked from the house to a lovely little Italian spot, Bella Napoli.
The house itself was comfortable, clean, and as described. Would definitely stay again! Thanks Mark!

Home is located in a quiet family neighborhood that has plenty of on street parking. We used the Metro (which was a short walk) to get around DC. House was clean and beds are comfy. Coffee bar was a nice touch! Thanks Mark, we would definitely rent from you again!

We stayed here while dropping off our son at American University. Very cute location, close to Alexandria and easy drive to AU. I grew up in Alexandria, so appreciated the location and how easy it was to visit my old haunts and friends who live in the area. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of room for all of us. Had my parents per for dinner on evening and kitchen had all I needed to make a nice meal. Enjoyable stay!

From the description and pictures on the site, I thought it to be a great rate for the location and the looks of the house.
Yes, this house does need a deep cleaning. The heating/AC vents are covered with built up dust. The fridge needs a thorough cleaning as well.
The one thing that sold me was the 3 king sized beds. However, 2 of the rooms really could use just a queen size bed. I had the basement bedroom a had difficulty getting in and out of bed without crab-walking along the wall. The downstairs bedroom does not have room for a side table to put your phone, a glass of water - or in my case, my C-pap machine. The beds were comfortable and clean.
It is an older homer and could use some updates, but I guess that will come with time. The kitchen has limited space, so plan on one cook if you plan on cooking breakfast, etc.
The yard needed to be tended to, the grass was high and the patio with the table and chairs were covered with dead leaves. We wanted to sit out there to chill, but would have needed to use towels to cover the chairs after using a stick to remove the leaves from the back of the chairs.
I would love to give this property a higher rating, because it is in a creat neighborhood - close to the Metro, good restaurants and grocery stores.
One thing I would like to suggest to the owner - put a hand rail at the top of the stairs to the basement - the steps are steep and it would be helpful to someone needing the assistance of navigating the steps.
