The Riad is fabulous and feels quite exclusive. Everything is clean and immaculate. The bedroom was beautiful and the bed was comfortable. . The staff were very friendlv. And helpful. We arrived late in the evening and they were so welcoming they even prepared dinner for us at Midnight.
In the morning the owner was so kind and walked with us to the ATM so that we could draw cash.
We like everything

My first stay at Riad 53 was very nice. Since I was familiar with Riad 53, I decided to return for my last night in Morocco. I chose a room I was familiar with on the first floor. Everything went downhill from there. Without consulting me, they disregarded my reservation and gave the room to another couple. They supposedly upgraded me; the upgraded room was one of the noisiest rooms in the Riad- it was under the restaurant and the windows faced the main street. The AC barely worked, and the room had not been dusted for some time. There were no summer sheets, and the water faucets were beyond complicated etc...etc....Any attempt to reason with the staff was hopeless, and Taher and Kamar were beyond unprofessional in their handling of the situation; at times even quite aggressive. They also refused to give me a receipt. Suffice it to say that this experience ruined my last day in Morocco. Unfortunately, they were much more accommodating to Westerners with lighter skin tones. Other staff members were lovely, but Taher and Kamar should not be working in the service industry. Although the location of this riad is perfect, do yourself a favor and arrange to stay somewhere else.
Lack of professionalism.

The location was just outside the medina maze, very convenient to arrive after just being dropped by a cab, without risking getting lost looking for it. The breakfast was rich and amazing.
The entrance door was always open, it didn’t feel very safe. We got a bedroom for 3 people and the bathroom had a glass door, not allowing privacy. Also the room was very dark and the room lights weren’t strong enough, so at night there was very little visibility in the room. I had to kill 2 cockroaches during the night, I think some more insulation for the room door would help. When booking on booking.com I selected the option to pay in advance (who’s is my preferred one) but instead I was asked to pay cash when I arrived, I found very inconvenient to have to pay a large sum by cash. I selected this hotel on purpose as it was allowing advance payment but unfortunately it wasn’t the case. If this is a requirement for most properties in Fez at least it should be clear mentioned and not come as a surprise.

Courtyard rooms feel a bit pocket as, only opening onto the thoroughfare courtyard, you have to keep windows and doors covered. Otherwise comfortable, friendly and very well located just snide the Medina.

The room was beautiful, really clean, comfortable, huge. It was such a pleasure to stay in a place like this. It has a terrace were you can grab a drink or eat. Amenities and bank atm are walking distance. The owner is great, he helps you in anything you need, he is sweet, approachable, helpful and easy going. Highly recommended

Nice rooms, Good location. Good staff. Good breakfast. Easy access to the Medina. Lots of restaurants.
Internet was poor

Our suite deluxe was exceptional, comfy, well firnished, big and really comfy. The location is excellent, host and all the staff is very kind and helpful. Really authentic Riad.
4.5
Conveniently located to lots of restaurants, the Medina and the old walls around the city. We walked everywhere (even the Mall that had a Burger King and a Carrefour). The Riad was quiet at night, which surprised me somewhat as we had a room off Reception area. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate our special requests, coffee brought our room at 8am and glasses with ice at 8pm.
The pillows were not soft at all and I would also ask for hangers for the armoire.

The Riad is very nice and our room was beautiful and spacious. It is very well located to walk around the Medina and the terrace is super nice.
Complimentary tea is offered the first day, which is nice, but when I ordered tea another day, they charge almost 4EUR, 4 times what you will be charged anywhere else. Was never sure if this was the menu price indeed or if the guy serving on the terrace just randomly decided to charge me that. It is anyway not much but the gesture is what counts.

Good breakfast, polite staff, nice terrace, big room, nearby parking.
Bad smell in the barhroom.

Zakaria has been very kind and helpful. The riad is in a very good position.

location is very near to blue gate and medina in general . looks beautiful. there's a restaurant on the hotel and many nearby . rooms were comfortable though .
breakfast is very late in morning ( esp if you have tours planned that leave early) they unnecessarily try to sell you tours to medina and sahara . no receipt for money given , i still don't know the name of camp and the tour agency through which we went . we had surprise after surprise during the trip. itinerary was altered. last day we were moved with a van from people of different itinerary. 200€ for a tour from fes to sahara . didn't see ifran , rose valley , ourzazate , ait bin haddou or anything. although the camps were green but you can yourself book a supra tour bus from fes to merzouga and book desert camps yourself for half the price . same with the tour guide to medina , we only went to different shops so they can sell us things and to hammams and restaurants. no history about the places whatsoever.

Very good riad and a very good welcome from zakariae.
Very good location and good, recommendation of a guide for the medina, very good advice for a private excursion to Chefchaouen.
Very good restaurant of the riad on the terrace.
nothing to say

The location is excellent! No problems getting lost since it is near the main entrance, but it is still near everything you might want to go to.
The staff are very nice. Zakariae helped us with information, and the girl serving breakfast on the roof terrace every morning was really nice and friendly.
The room was beautifully decorated, as was the rest of the accommodation.
We had a room on the ground floor across from reception, so it was noisy at times when trying to get to sleep early (10pm or 11pm) but all noise generally stopped at midnight so it wasn't a big issue. Likewise with the light that comes into the room. It is hard to get to sleep before they are turned off (maybe 11pm or 11.30pm if I remember correctly). If there were curtains on the windows it would have solved this.

Nothing could have been any better! Riad 53 has a great host - Zacharia - who went the extra mile to provide us with an unforgettable stay! All the staff were, in fact, amazing and beyond helpful in every way, shape and form! The location is the best possible, right at the entrance to the old Medina - perfect to explore the Medina from scratch and to go for a ride out of the city. Riad 53 organizes your tours and gets you the most knowledgeable and amusing guides! Staying at this Riad was like staying with family - we made friends who we will definitely meet again!
Everything was amazing!

After 2 weeks spent in Morocco and many riads, I have to admin that this is the most authentic one: the room, the patio and terrace, as well as the location make this the perfect stay to be in Fes.
All personell is very kind and helpful.
Unfortunately I found the wc unclean. I think it was just something that passed unseen considering that the other stuff in the room was clean.

We arrived late at night and Zakariae was there to help us with parking and check-in, which we really appreciated. The riad is easy to find, with a safe parking garage just down the road. It's in an excellent location with restaurants within walking distance.
Everything was perfect, thank you for your hospitality!

Everything during my stay in riad 53 was perfect from beginning to end. The staff help me with everything I needed, card for my phone, trip to other cities... They welcomed me with a moroccan tea and a good conversation. the room was big and well decorated, with all you need to have a perfect stay in Fes. The breakfast was very abundant, with many typical foods of Moroccan cuisine.
Everything was perfect.

I can honestly say that Road 53 exceeded my expectations. Firstly it is in a great location very near to the Blue Gate of the Medina. Like many riads, the exterior is unassuming, but once inside I was taken aback by the beautiful tile work, decorations and lighting. This elegant design also extended to the rooms, which were extremely comfortable and cool - a welcome respite from Fes summer heat.
From the terrace you get quite a decent view of Fes, and they serve excellent breakfast up there. But where I found Riad 53 to truly excell was in the service. Zechariah was so so helpful throughout my stay. I was originally slated to arrive in Fes from Marrakech at 8:00 pm, but there was debris on the track just outside Marrakech that caused a significant delay. I didn't end up reaching Riad 53 until.near 11 pm. Zechariah was extremely flexible in handling the situation. Not only that, through him I was able to book bus tickets to Chefchaouen, make an appointment at a nearby hammam and even do laundry (which I was in desperate need of haha). Overall Zechariah and the staff of Riad 53 made my stay in Fes so comfortable it felt like a home away from home. I'm looking forward with staying with them again!

Great place to stay in Fes, just outside the Medina (so you can find it!) And stone's throw from the blue gate. Couldn't ask for more from Zacheri, and all the staff who were great. Had a surprisingly beautiful room for the price. Highly recommended!
Nothing, I loved the place!

Lovely Riad, nicely decorated, with a good breakfast and exceptional help from Zacharias. Zacharias gave us invaluable advice and was incredibly helpful.
The room smelt quite stuffy/damp. The coffee at breakfast could also be improved.

best stays in a very good Riad and Beautiful room comfortable beds and nice shower well located at the entrance of Medina and the blue door far 2 minutes walk and I really like the riad restaurant with a very nice view of medina and delicious meal and especially thanks to zakariae for that presentation and his help and the advice that we gave and that recommendation to take a guide to do the tour of the medina was really effective to visit the medina quietly and impossible to remember the way alone his request help and especially beware of the fake guides who are just waiting for you to get lost in Medina to scam you and ask for money to show you the way back to the Riad,I recommend this riad and visit Fez.
Go back home😔
